How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at Dar Chyma. The house was clean, comfortable, and full of warmth, both in atmosphere and hospitality. The family were incredibly kind and welcoming - we were greeted with fresh mint tea and snacks on arrival, which was a lovely touch after our journey. Our room had a private bathroom with hot water and everything was spotless. The balcony offered breathtaking, surreal views of the mountains - absolutely worth the walk up from Imlil. To make things easier, their son even met us in town and carried our bags, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was generous, delicious, and served at whatever time suited us. We also had a fantastic three-course vegetarian Berber dinner one evening, which was lovingly cooked by the family and full of flavour. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Their daughter was very sweet, and they patiently answered all our questions. One standout kindness: they let us do a huge load of laundry for free when we arrived - truly above and beyond. We got to Imlil easily by collective taxi from Marrakech (just 50 MAD), and once there, we enjoyed peaceful walks and a quiet Imlil, as it was Eid. It was the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty of the area. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, warm, and peaceful stay in the Atlas Mountains.
Nothing!

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent two-night stay at dar chayma booked through your platform. Unfortunately, the experience was far below our expectations, and I feel compelled to share the details. 1. Unprofessional Behavior of the Owner: On the first morning of our stay, the owner rudely tried to force us to leave the hotel at 9:00 AM, despite our booking confirmation clearly stating a checkout time of 12:00 PM. This interaction was both distressing and unacceptable. 2. Inaccurate Pricing and Pressure: The owner attempted to sell us a tagine meal for two people at an unreasonably high price of 400 MAD. When I politely declined, her behavior became increasingly hostile. 3. Misleading Property Photos: The pictures of the hotel on your platform were not representative of the actual conditions. This discrepancy significantly impacted our overall experience, as we felt misled by the listing. While the owner’s children were polite and friendly, the behavior and actions of the owner made our stay uncomfortable and unenjoyable. I kindly request your assistance in addressing these issues. I believe it is essential to ensure that properties listed on your platform maintain professionalism, adhere to advertised standards, and provide accurate representations. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you and hope for a resolution that ensures a better experience for future guests. Regards

Verified reviewGreat! If you look for a real traditional berber family to host you, this is the place to be. The host is very nice, the house is clean and warm, she provided a lot of blankets. She served mint tea all the time and the tadjin we had for lunch was very good, real berber traditional. Also breakfast was good, usual morrocan. View from the terrace was splendind, and sun is shining on the terrace. It is indeed a little remote, it is either a long walk from Imlil, or go by car, but it's worth to go avay from tourist spots.

Verified reviewthe view was amazing, the breakfast was good. Yasser was super nice and his mom was friendly. the room was clean
it was little bit far from imlil and you should really walk little bit. but she sends her son to bring your luggage and help you. If you have a car, it will be perfect. and because of the location the view was amazingggggg.

Verified reviewMaryam was a wonderful host and her daughter Chayma is very sweet. Maryam served tea several times while I was there and cooked an amazing breakfast. I'd highly recommend trying her amazing Berber tajine. The town is on the side of the mountain and in a beautiful location. I enjoyed getting a glimpse into life in this small Berber town tucked away in the mountains.
The house doesn't have heat so it gets a bit cold in the winter. However, she provides multiple warm blankets so I stayed quite warm at night. Bring warm clothes for the day and it will be very pleasant.

Verified reviewThe location high atop the mountain side offers the perfect view looking out onto the Atlas Mountains. While many buildings exist at different angles alongside the mountains Dar Chayma faces parallel to give a breathtaking perspective. The lady owner was very kind, attentive and hospitable. She prepared amazing breakfasts and cooked the most delicious tagine and couscous.
I stayed in February so the room was a little cold but plenty of thick blankets were provided.

Verified reviewNice room, beautiful view from the window and terrace
Not enough privacy. It was not possible to communicate with the host in English or any other language than local. The place is not visible in Google Maps and the address in Booking is not correct, so it was not easy to find the place.
