The riad is hidden in between two narrow buildings. From the outside you wouldn’t think that there would be a riad inside and you are welcomed with a relaxing atmosphere. There is a rooftop terrace where you can have breakfast and dinner and has a lovely view. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Fatima and her daughter were absolutely great. They are the friendliest of people who are more than happy to help you with anything you need and will advise you on how to best handle all the scammers and the Medina. We had a fantastic stay and hope to see Fatima soon again!

Fatima will send someone to pick you up and to take you to the riad. Please wait for this person or else it is very likely that you wille be scammed by the locals. They will tell that they will take you to the riad for free but will give you a tour around the city instead and will expect to be paid a lot of money. Please don’t make the same mistake we made. Fatima will text you and wait for that person to arrive. Then all will be fine! We enjoyed our stay nevertheless :)

Property was clean and in the heart of medina Staff were very lovely giving directions and help carrying our bags The pool was clean and refreshing water

A bit challenging to get to the property if we didnt have the staff come and get us from the parking but other than that everything was really good !

This Riad exceeded our expectations - great location, very generous and tasty breakfast, but most importantly, hospitality of staff. Fatima was most welcoming and we enjoyed talking to her about Fez and its history. She presented us with traditional Moroccan tea and sweets upon our arrival, and we immediately felt ourselves at home. Amira was cooking and serving us most delicious and extended breakfast which we loved. All in all we felt very welcome and well looked after. Fatima and Amira went an extra mile to make us feel SPECIAL. We spent beautiful time in this riad, enjoyed panoramic view from the terras where the breakfast was served. The towels were changed every day, the bedlinen also very often. We will definitely come back here again!

    Everything was perfect

A very charming little Riad. The Hosts could not do enough and the breakfast was amazing and plentiful. Very comfy bed and great hot water. The entrance was surprising and luckily we were met from our taxi otherwise we wouldn't have found it.

Not a 'didn't you like,' for us ,but note to others... we were given an upgrade which we thought would be a larger room but in actuality was 2 floors with an extra bed on the top floor and the bathroom. So you had to go upstairs to the bathroom... could be a problem to some.

Fatima and her staff were really helpful. Breakfast was extensive on the roof terrace, albeit a bit chilly in February. We loved the quirky entrance which is an alley barely wide enough to walk down.

We had the smallest of her 3 rooms which was really very tight - nowhere to hang clothes or put luggage. Most rooms in riads are small but make sure you book the bigger options with Fatima.

The location of the riad is perfect, right on the edge of the medina with everything in walking distance. Fatima and her daughter were extremely helpful, gave us lots of useful tips, and introduced us to a very good guide who took us around the souks for a morning.

While the room was good and had all the necessary facilities, it was may-be somewhat dated.

Fatima was amazing, what a host! The Riad is right on the border of the medina, making it easily accessible by taxi. If you book the room, make sure to provide a whatsapp number or respond to her message through booking.com as Fatima will make sure someone awaits you at the taxi stop en takes you directly to the riad. Real luxury! Rooms, beds, breakfast, rooftop, everything was amazing. Will definitely stay again when in Fes!

Words cannot express my impression of this Riad. I don’t even know where to start. Fatima and her daughter are the nicest people you will ever meet! Their hospitality is something indescribable. They make you feel right at home, even if you’re thousands of miles/kilometers away! They will help with anything you might need - from sending someone to pick you up and take you through the labyrinth that is the Fes Medina, straight to the Riad, to giving you suggestions about your time there, providing you with contact information and recommending the best tour guide, to feeding you within an inch of your life! The food they offer gives you that warm fuzzy feeling of home made with lots of love! The Riad itself is gorgeous and yet, practical, a tiny oasis in the Medina. If you visit Fes, you need to book a room with them. Your experience will be unforgettable!

There is absolutely nothing to dislike!

The host Fatima was very nice, kind and very helpful. The room was nice and well decorated, clean and got AC. We took our breakfast on the terrace which was nice and everything was very good, we got a lot of things to taste and it was different every day. The jam was so yummy, and like in every corner of Fes, the orange juice was just amazing. The Riad is in the medina and not too far from one of the many entries which is the right place to take a taxi if needed. At the end of the day, we could rest a little bit on the small pool downstairs.

Dar Essoaoude is a beautiful and authentic riad in the heart of the Medina. Located few steps away from Rcif main square. Fatima is an amazing host, she took care of us in the best way, explained where to go sight seeing. The breakfasts were very big, tasty and offering local tastes. We also ate at the Riad one evening, and the lamb tajine was one of the best we’ve had in Morocco! I highly recommend this place for a stay in Fès, it is simple, authentic, central and you will get the best welcome !!
