Dar M'hamid is in a great location, a small walk to the nearest Sahara small sand dunes, with a walled private back garden to park our motorcycle in. We had a warm welcome from Omar and were offered refreshing Moroccan tea and sweet treats on arrival. We wish we could have stayed longer and ventured into the Sahara. The garden is beautiful with a selection of seating areas and trees (which I think all the local birds also find to be the best spot in M'hamid). We had an amazing chicken and lemon tagine which was the best tagine I've had in Morocco. Breakfast was also just to our liking with a selection of tea/coffee, breads and jams, egg and yogurt. A gem of a place in M'hamid and we would definitely come again and stay longer.

A very beautiful Dar with comfortable rooms and good working showers. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The perfect place to start and finish off your desert trek!!

Everything was great

Very quaint and beautifully decorated hotel with a magical courtyard and lots of places to sit and read. Dinner of Lemon Chicken tagine was the best meal we have had in Morocco and one of the best meals I have ever had. The rooms are comfortable and the air conditioning works well. Omar was an excellent host.

Dar M'hamid is an oasis of calm on the frontier of Erg Chigaga. Our host Omar was wonderfully welcoming and accommodating with great communication prior to our stay. He even arranged dinner for us on arrival, as we had driven through the day from Agadir to get there. The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable and the inner courtyard provided a serene escape from the busy streets. We arranged with Omar to visit their desert bivouac in Erg Chigaga. Hats off to Hamza, our guide and host for fantastically personal experience - I can highly recommend it to those looking for an authentic and peaceful stay in the desert. Although our stay was fleeting I hope one day we can return and meet again Inshallah.

We wish we had known that they do desert tours, including overnight camping trips. We had already purchased a tour to the desert prior to booking our room at Dar M'Hamid. We encourage others to do their desert tour through Dar M'Hamid and stay at this property before and after their desert tour.

Omar and Mustafa took great care of us! They ensured we had everything we needed. The food was delicious! The environment was relaxing. The décor was authentic to the area. The room was comfortable with air conditioning and we had hot water for our shower.

This dar was my home for three days, and I witnessed kindness and good organisation of Mr. Omar and his team. This is a quiet and clean place in the middle of a hectic tourist spot on the threshold of the desert. You will be served a delicious breakfast or dinner in a beautiful garden, under the shade of the oleander. Safe parking included.

Second time staying at Dar M'hamid, we returned here after 3 days in the desert trekking. Once again a fantastic stay, we had to be up early the following day to catch the coach back to Marrakech; nice touch from Mustafa giving us fruit the evening before that we could have for breakfast

Dar M'hamid was great! We arrived into M'hamid after a long 10 hour bus journey and weren't sure what to expect. But that quickly changed when we were greeted by Mustafa at Dar M'hamid; he offered us tea and made us feel very comfortable there. The garden area is beautiful, and a really nice place to just hang out.

For us, it was the perfect starting point for a beautiful desert tour. We thank you, Omar. The room and courtyard really impressed us, and it was nice to finally have a very good coffee for breakfast.

It is very well decorated. We loved the stay. We had wonderfully organised candle light dinner sitting under the stars. Mustafa was very supportive in all ways.

Omar is the best person that I have met traveling in Morocco. He made my experience in Mhamid and in the desert so special and amazing. I really recommend this place! The hostel is 10/10, the food is 10/10, the host is 10/10. Shukram Omar! Hope to see you again.

We had an amazing time here. The family is very kind and took care of us. The place is very beautiful with attention to details. The room is simple and clean and has everything you need including hot water, excellent wifi, and peaceful nights. We had dinner and breakfast which were also excellent. We took the day trip out to the desert camp in the 4x4 and had a really memorable experience. The host even walked us to the bus at 6 in the morning to make sure that we had no troubles. We recommend this hotel and we would come back.

We loved everything about Dar M'Hamid. It is a beautiful guesthouse, a little oasis in M'Hamid. Comfy, clean room, lovely outdoor space, delicious and generous breakfasts and dinners. Omar is an amazing host who goes out of his way to make you feel at home, and to show you the area. Omar arranged to take us for a magical night at Erg Chegaga, staying at the guesthouse's own camp right in the dunes. We can't recommend this place highly enough. Also incredibly good value.

We stayed here twice--once on our way out to the desert, and once on our return, and we were very glad we did. It is a comfortable, quiet little spot. They were very accommodating of our late arrival the first night and our early arrival the second night. Omar was very welcoming and served us very tasty meals in the charming courtyard.

Breakfast was excellent. It included a local Moroccan specialty, msemmen, which was very tasty. We checked in late since the bus there arrived late, and they very graciously welcomed us and served us soup, bread, and tea for dinner. Omar was fluent in both English and French and made us feel very welcome. This is a lovely, peaceful place right at the edge of the Sahara--a perfect spot from which to launch into an excursion into the desert.
