A nice guesthouse in the middle of the Medina. Lots of restaurants at walking distance. Breakfast was good (like most Moroccan breakfasts) on the rooftop terras, which was nice. The staff was very friendly; we felt very welcome. The room was bright, nothing too special but quiet and functional for having a good night sleep. Overall a good experience.

As with most riads, the house wasn’t super soundproof. It did a great job at blocking out outside noice though.

We had a fantastic stay at Riad Dar Ory! The staff was super kind and welcoming, and we felt right at home. The facilities were great - warm shower, comfortable bed, warm and clean sheets - which was very welcome after our experiences with other not so good hotels in Morocco. The rooftop is great and the location is perfect, I can only recommend it! Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Essaouira :)

I can't recall anything.

Dar Ory is located perfectly within the old city walls. It is a family-run dar with an extremely kind owner and a nice and friendly staff. Coming from its background families and kids are welcomed and provided with various amusements (e.g. a cozy reading corner packed with books for the little ones, or a swing in the atrium). The breakfast is generous and very tasty. This is hospitality at its best.

Nothing. But if we could suggest one thing is placing a sign outside the Riad as we had trouble finding it!

Lovely staff and very homey. It was comfortable and clean. The owner is such a lovely person and took us to the Sunday market outside of the Medina. My kids really enjoyed the stay and the breakfast offered was a nice way to start the day of exploring. A bonus was they allowed us to use their laundry facilities!

We had a great time! The Ambiente was wonderful, tasty breakfast at the beautiful rooftop, clean rooms and hot showers and everyone there was extremely friendly and helpful! We liked it so much, that we extended and definitely would come back.

The floor was old (which was nice) but seemed dirty (it wasn’t but it seemed like it). Maybe the owner could put a layer of gloss on top to preserve the authenticity and clean it easier.

Using a top sheet under the quilt on the bed would have been good. I don't like sleeping without a top sheet, particularly in hotel situations. Also, when it is really hot, you just want to sleep under the sheet.
