The whole place is utterly peaceful and gorgeous. Like a home from home. The food was fantastic for breakfast - we wished they did evening meals too!! Super friendly and super clean

    Property response:

What a nice review, lads! It was a pleasure to meet you, greetings to Scotland and England, good combination.

Honestly flawless. The hosts are incredible and work so hard to create a little slice of paradise only 15 minutes away from Essaouria. This was the perfect place for me to relax, work and study for my exams. The only small thing I would say, it would have been good to know that there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance and no food (except breakfast) served, so make sure if you don't have a car, that you bring some food with you for the first day!

    Property response:

It was a great pleasure meeting you and being the perfect place for you to prepare for your exams. We're sure they'll be a success. Thank you so much for your review. We confess it was a challenge preparing a variety of vegetarian breakfasts for a week, but we made it! Come back anytime.

10/10 Everything was spot on. It had all the finished touches. Breakfast was yummy and different both mornings, cooked fresh. I recommend renting a car, they can sort that for you as well. Great communication which is key, they were so helpful. Cosy, authentic experience. I will be returning again this year for sure

    Property response:

Thanks, Lucy! You already know that this is your home. Horses will be waiting for your return and so will we. Arre, arre, horsewoman!

Location was good to be fair. And breakfast fine. Price was cheap and that reflected in our stay that we had to unfortunately cut down from 5 nights to only 1 with no discount or sympathy from the manager, Yves.

The manager was the most obnoxious part of this location. Yves was a stream of negativity. A dark cloud. From the first message when he asked me to commit to all breakfasts before we even arrived, to our arrival where he complained about his rent and credit, or lazy landlord. Why should I care about all this exactly? We were on our honeymoon and felt oppressed by this man. It’s not a guest house, it’s a hostel. Our bedroom had no privacy (can’t open the window as everyone can see you from the inside court), dusty curtains above the head on the bed, which gave us allergies, a very dirty carpet, a bloated sink, old shower plastic curtains and to top it all of, a broken shower head that made using the shower impossible. When we decided to leave 4 nights early, I told that to Yves and he didn’t care one bit. No excuse. No sympathy. He blamed the broken shower head on “bad Chinese supplies”. That was a big low for our 15-day honeymoon trip in Morocco so we had to leave immediately to a better place. Avoid at all cost if you want good company, you’re better off paying a bit more somewhere else.

    Property response:

We deeply regret that your stay at Libert'Art was not to your liking, especially when even the morning you decided to leave, you told us that there was no problem but that simply being on your honeymoon, you did not feel the privacy that you wanted. You never complained about dirt, dust, darkness, having windows in your room that face an outside terrace which is obviously a common area, (not an inside court that we don't have because we are not a riad), that your room door is 5 meters away from the kitchen, complaining about the courtains that are new and still have the folding marks from packing or of having had some irrelevant conversation (when you were the ones who started questioning at your arrival). The only thing you indicated when you left was that the shower drainage was not working and that the flexible shower tube had broken, things that can happen anywhere and once reported, are repaired immediately. On the other hand, we had guests from October 7 to 17 (a few days before you came) and we received an incredible review and a perfect score during a 10-nights stay in the SAME room. Obviously, your expectations and standard of living do not match ours or our guests'. Complaining about lack of privacy when you shared a single night with 3 other very nice, calm and discreet couples (one of whom even continues staying with us), seems not only arrogant, disrespectful and unacceptable to us. On the morning of October 23, after breakfast, you took the decision to leave, without many explanations and any discussion or problem involved, and we charged you only for 2 breakfasts (which were not included in the reservation) and the taxes corresponding tourist fees for a 1-night stay, as requested by the Moroccan Government. Your decision to leave was your own, it is not our responsibility for haughty people demanding refunds because an establishment does not meet their high standards, especially when they never expressed their displeasure during their stay. Perfect review from you, the perfect kind of people that we don't want around!

Breakfast was a real treat every single morning, served on the terrace, out of the sun. A sweet and sour touch, starting with a fruit bowl and some fresh orange juice, a coffee that tasted familiar yet different. To end with a traditional Moroccan dish. Apart from the superb food, the presence of the animals was soothing and fun. Feeding the turtles, Moona's mood swings and Cao's happiness, a joy to watch. Yves and Carina are excellent hosts with a big heart and many life stories. Their beautiful garden is well taken care of and offers some cool hangouts. Highly recommended if you want out of the buzz of the sometimes overwhelming Medina, but close enough to drive there if needed.

Got a lovely warm welcome from Yves ad Carolina and was served great breakfasts over my 4-night stay which differed every morning. In fact - these were my favourite breakfasts during my 15-day trip of Morocco. The location, though a bit off track, wasn't far by taxi to the main town of Essaouria and it was so peaceful and pretty. Just the haven I was looking for to start and end my days in that area. Beautiful pool, but a little cold for me to use it in early March. Bed was okay as was a tad uncomfortable and cold and feel the pillows could be improved. Tiny bathroom but I got by and the property on the whole is very tastefully decorated inside and out. Nice common area to use and shared, large kithen was very handy, as was the use of their washing machine and outdoor line. Just a gem really as the the price per night was very reasonble and Yves was so helpful arranging horseriding and taxis. Would definitely return :)

Bed pillows - as were a bit too hard. A wall mirror in the bedroom part would also be handy.

    Property response:

Thank you very much for your review. For us it was pleasant to share those days with you and be able to assist you in all your needs and activities. We are sorry that the pillows were not comfortable for you, the truth is that after bad experiences with local and poor quality products, we chose to buy the current ones, which are hypoallergenic and memory shape pillows. We have never had any complaints about them but we will try to find another option when you return.

The embrace of Yves and Caro, the hosts, with their ever-present warmth, companionship, and unwavering helpfulness, remains a beacon of hospitality that defines our stay. Their enthralling life stories and captivating conversations have become an integral part of our experience, leaving us enriched after each encounter. The ambiance of Libert'Art is nothing short of exquisite. Everywhere, the exquisite touch of the artist's soul is palpable. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The garden, with friendly animals and relaxing installations, offers a serene countryside experience. The breakfast is a delightful surprise every morning. Thank you, Yves and Caro, for everything.
