How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewNadir is a wonderful host. Delicious breakfast and provided a washing service free of charge. We had a beautiful room and the riad is nice and quiet and very well located to access the northern attractions in the Medina.
A few things need some maintenance.

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic time at Nadir home, the location was perfect walking distance everywhere we wanted to go, it was quiet, clean & so beautiful inside. The breakfast was also amazing & Nadir is such a kind and helpful host. He helped us get a taxi from the airport and stayed up until 11pm to help us find the property by meeting us outside and walking with us there. Would highly recommend staying here!

Verified reviewThe location of this riad was excellent. It's a few steps away from major sights like the Ben Youssef madrasa. It's located at the end of several long, narrow alleys so may not be easy to find in your own but I was able to navigate it easily after the owner showed it to me for the first time. The riad itself is beautiful, well-kept and clean. The room was comfortable too. The owner was super helpful and courteous.

Verified reviewPerfect place to stay in Marrakesh!! The traditional room is big and the style is impeccable. The breakfast was also very good. The owner was always available for us to answer questions and give recommendations. The location was exceptional, in the middle of the old town but very calm.

Verified reviewNadir’s home was perfect for a 2-day visit with my parents. The place is peaceful, beautifully decorated and immerse in the heart of the Medina. The breakfast is simply delicious, with lots of Moroccan flavors. Nadir is a great host, it was a pleasure to meet you and we’re looking forward to come back.
Although it isn’t easy to find, the fact that is a “hidden” Riad helps it to be very silent.

Verified reviewFriendly owner Abderrahim and always willing to give you extra information and help on anything you ask. He will be able to arrange taxi for you (ask in advance) or if you are coming on your own, just pass his number to a taxi driver and he will precisely explain the driver where to go and then pick you up too. Location might seems difficult from start, but this is because you are not used to and you never will if you dont live if Morroco, as its nothing to compare to this very unique city. After one day you will easy find this place as everything is near by. Greeting from Cyprus

Verified reviewDelicious Moroccan style breakfast. Host is the kindest person ever. Location in the medina is very convenient, a bit complicated to find in the beginning but once you know the way is ok. The whole medina is quite overwhelming but that's what you expect when in Morocco, innit?

Verified reviewIt was clean and central.
Unfortunately due to the effects of the earthquake the way to enter the Riad is a bit complicated. The owner did stress to call and he would meet us to guide us through but we missed the message ! Once we knew it was easier 🙃

Verified reviewOur host was very welcoming, friendly and helpful even got up super early to walk us to the taxi pick up for the airport. The room was so beautiful and comfortable, with a spacious bathroom. We only stayed one night on our way home, but wished we'd stayed longer.

Verified reviewNot much
Did not feel like a guest but an inconvenience. Have stayed here many times but never again. Owner was upset about a stain and he took daily pictures of our room and punished us by removing back cushions from the lounge. Terrace was not set up for guests. We booked a grand taxi thru him and was way over charged. He quoted 1200mad to Essouira. Our return trip back to Marrakech has been booked for 700mad.
These customers did not follow the usual practicises. They consumed alcohol in the room. They smoked in the room, which soaked up the strong smell of their cigarettes. They ate in the room leaving all their garbage. They made a big mess in the room and they stained the sheets, without telling me and hiding them so I wouldn't see them (I showed them the picture of the sheets I had brought to the dry cleaners. I didn't ask them to pay for the removal of the sheets or anything else). They also stained the cushions that I had to replace. The terrace is gladly furnished if guests request it. For the service I gave them to find a taxi to go to Essaouira, I would like to point out that it was a private taxi while the taxi they found themselves for the return trip was a shared taxi, which explains the price difference.

Verified reviewWe had an overall good experience. We were the only ones with our friends in the Riad, and it was very calm and felt very private. The host always made sure we had a great breakfast in the morning, and our rooms were cleaned every day. Additionally, the host helped us organize a taxi back to the airport and provided advice whenever we needed additional information about Marrakesh.
I would advise anyone sensitive to noises to take earplugs, as the prayers started very early in the morning

Verified reviewWe were treated very well by our gracious host. Nothing was too much trouble. He walked us across town the first day to show us where everything is and helped us buy sim cards. Beautiful home in the heart of the Medina.
The bed was only accessible from one side.
