How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewA lovely riad that was clean and comfortable. A simple local breakfast each morning and friendly staff. Our host Ibrahim was very helpful and always happy to help. He told us lots of useful information and helpful tips when staying in Marrakech. He also recommended places to visit and eat and pinned them all on a map for us.The riad is in great location and has a pretty relaxing roof terrace. A fantastic stay and I would recommend to friends and family.

Verified reviewMy girlfriend and I have traveled a lot around the world, but the experience with Ibrahim at Riad Azrur is the best we’ve ever had. He arranged a taxi and SIM card for us in advance, making it super easy to travel. He was always available for questions — truly a top host! I will never forget this. The best service you can get. Go to Riad Azrur!

Verified reviewThe staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Excellent breakfast and advice. Ibrahim is the perfect host.
Nothing. This was a home from home experience. Thoroughly relaxing and cultural. Moroccan people are wonderful and this riad was the embodiment of the culture.

Verified reviewIt was cosy and very quiet. The location is perfect, we were close (max 20min walk) to every museum and site to visit. Ibrahim was very helpful.
The room was a little small for the price. Some basics were not found (mini fridge, chairs, TV in the room, etc.). The breakfast is very limited (honey, jam and a little cheese every day…).

Verified reviewGreat welcome - the management organised for us to be picked up from the train station and taken to the hotel They also allowed us to leave our bags from 09.00 and enjoy the city before checking in at 15.00 Great and friendly staff and hosts who helped us lots with wifi, apps and recommendations Breakfast was lovely and huge - also served beautifully Room was excellent - best we had found for 2 adults and 2 children - it was one suite but the kids were off in an anti- room so it felt like two separate rooms
It is a little out of the way for the Djmaa el Fnaa square but it is still great for souks and northern Marrakesh

Verified reviewReally fantastic riad, everything was wonderful. Great breakfast and very comfortable beds, the room was also tidied and cleaned every day. Everything was exactly as it should be. I would like to especially highlight the host Ibrahim, who was very helpful and answered every question we had. He was part of the reason we had such a good time in Marrakech.

Verified reviewThe Riad was beautifully designed with stylish mix of modern and traditional decor. The room was spacious, comfortable and well maintained. The location and accessibility is perfect for a stay in Marrakesh; it is close to all the hotspots yet in a lovely quiet area. Ibrahim stole the show for us! He was attentive, welcoming and incredibly kind throughout our time there. Loved the breakfast. If you can I would recommend the Hammam!

Verified reviewRiad Azrur was the perfect tranquil sanctuary in busy Marrakesh, and Ibrahim is the best host you could possibly ask for. He was very kind and communicative, he offered us a lot of advice about the city, and he made our stay perfect! The Riad's common areas are beautiful, always smell of orange blossom, and provide plenty of relaxing spaces to unwind in with a pot of mint tea. Our room was very comfortable, had plenty of space, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious, and Ibrahim was kind enough to prepare us early breakfast on a day when we had an early bus to catch. Riad Azrur's housekeeper was also very kind and accommodating, and helped make our stay very comfortable. The Riad was in a brilliant location - a short walk to the nearest taxi/ATM point, close to a good restaurant and a few shops/markets to pick up snacks, and within 10mins walk of some beautiful tourist locations and some of the best parts of the souks. It was always good to know we weren't too far from the Riad whilst spending a busy day in town. My partner and I spent most evenings unwinding on the rooftop with some fruit, mint tea, and lovely conversation with Ibrahim. Inshallah, we will one day return to Riad Azrur :)
I would suggest to any light sleepers that they should bring some earplugs, as sound carries in the central atrium of riads! I only needed them on the nights where some other guests were staying with a child who didn't sleep through the night, any other noise was fine

Verified reviewFirst of everything Ibrahim is a great host. After a long journey and chaos, his personality gave us this feeling of calm. He introduced us to the Marakkesh history a bit, gave some suggestions and made personal notes in regards to when we need to have a breakfast. Breakfast was really delicious. Everything is freshly prepared at time we needed. The room was really clean, a bit small but we enjoyed our stay very much. The location is right in the medina but a bit less touristic side. So we were happy to have the Medina experience but still have a silent evenings/mornings. Overall we are very happy to choose Riad Azrur! Thank you Ibrahim once again (:

Verified reviewWe had a lovely stay at Riad Azrur - the highlight is, as many others state, the lovely Ibrahim! He made us feel very welcome from the moment we were dropped off from the airport (transfer arranged by him). Recommendations for sites and restaurants, organising day trips, making us tea with vegan biscuits he found specially for us - he truly is a wonderful host. Accommodation for vegan diets were made in the breakfast, with traditional Moroccan pancakes and breads made for us without using butter or eggs. The breakfast was filling and set us up well for the day - my only suggestion would be some additional dried fruit/nuts could be nice to accompany the food. Location wise, it's convenient for walking into the souks and medina, though ends up being around half an hour walk from the sites in the south of the medina (Bahia palace for example). The door to the Riad is on a small alleyway - we felt safe accessing the property but a lone woman travelling may want somewhere located in busier/more visible area. The rooms were clean and we had a comfy bed with a lovely ornamental headboard. The roof terrace is nice with areas to sunbathe or sit, and the courtyard/living room are very inviting and tastefully decorated. The two little adorable birds that clean up the breakfast crumbs were sweet too! We paid for the Hammam and massage which was reasonably priced. The Hammam felt a little rushed but the massage was long and great value. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Riad Azrur. Thanks again go to Ibrahim for being the star of the show! A genuinely lovely man who looks after all of his guests.
Noise wise, there was some local noise at night but the location is far quieter than closer into the Medina. There is some noise from the courtyard though, as other guests return at night (as is the case with most Riads) so if you are a light sleeper I'd advise earplugs.

Verified reviewYou will be very well looked after at Riad Azrur. Ibrahim is the best host we could have imagined, upon arrival he gives very thorough directions and personal recommendations for a great exploration of the city. He is always there to help and answer any questions you might have. A driver is available on request which was very convenient. A substantial traditional breakfast is served each morning with good coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice, (the Moroccan pancakes were one of our favourite things we ate for the entire trip!) The bed was very comfortable and the room was refreshed everyday. This location is ideal for Marrakech, a 5–10 minute walk from the start of the souk in a more quiet neighbourhood far from the crowds. This neighbourhood has a food market with local prices which is not as frequented by other tourists. Overall 10/10, we will definitely stay here if we return to Marrakech!

Verified reviewWe have just returned from our trip to Marrakesh where we stayed for 4 days at "Riad Azrur" A beautiful place hidden in the beautiful souks of the Medina. A little paradise in the chaotic Marrakech. Just 15 minutes from the city center with impeccable aesthetics and amazing service. Ibrahim is always there for whatever you need. A great professional and a very good person. I highly recommend it...the best riad choice in the whole city. One reason I would like to go back to Marrakesh. Ibrahim, a big THANK YOU, and again it's not enough

Verified reviewHost was just amazing! He was really friendly and he managed and booked all the trips if we wanted to do something. He was really interested what we did during the days, so he actively wanted to learn what he should recommend to the other customers or what to avoid. Really clean, quiet and beautiful riad. Breakfast was fresh and good with great coffee and tea. Location is just few short streets off the main souks, but not very close to the square either.
There could be slightly more variability with the breakfast between different days and maybe some greens with it. Pillows were slightly too large/thick. There can be quite long walk to the main attractions around the square.

Verified reviewThe general manager Ibrahim takes excellent care of his guests. As an example of his dedication to his guests: he got up at 4.30am just to see us off and walk us to our taxi, which was only fifty metres away (and which he has reserved on our behalf the day before). He just wanted to make sure that those 30 seconds went as smoothly as the rest of our stay.
The riyad can be a little tricky to find. Even though the streets around the riyad are safe and we did not have any actual issues, you may not feel entirely comfortable as a Western traveller. There are often some kids hanging around that can see when you're a little lost and they'll offer to "escort you home" (for a fee of course). They may also say that a particular street which you need to take is closed "for religious regions" and then offer to take you on an alternative route (for an increased fee). You just need to tell them to go away or ignore them. They wouldn't actually do anything to harm you. The hotel manager warned us that this might happen, so we were prepared. It only happened on our first night: we told them to go away, and then they left us alone. We did not have such an approach on our second or third nights (probably because we looked a little bit less lost).
