How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewStaff were very friendly and helpful. The suite was beautiful. Location was excellent, very close to everything you'd want to see. Tasty breakfast too!
The aircon unit could do with an update as it was very hot during our stay.

Verified reviewThe room was super big, the interior very nice. Location is very central but still very calm inside. Gread value for price.
Some Suggestions: a second pillow in the bed would be nice. Breakfast is in the main middle courtyard, which is basically right next to the rooms in the groundfloor and you can hear everything. Maybe breakfast in the rooftop would be an option?

Verified reviewQuiet, charming Dar in the heart of Medina Marrakech, very close to Jemaa El-Fnaa square. Wonderful terrace and very spacious rooms. The little birds will sing in the open patio and you will feel like you are in Paradise!
We checked-out at 8:00 in the morning for an organised trip to Atlas mountains and we didn't have the chance to eat breakfast or see the staff to say good bye.

Verified reviewEVERYTHING. A beautiful, authentic charming Riad full of character with lots of African artefacts all around Great roof terrace, surprisingly quiet considering the Riads fabulous location to the Square and Souks. We arrived early and were warmly greeted with mint tea and biscuits. We had early access to our Gorgeous, huge room and were automatically offered an early breakfast for the next day as we had a bus to catch. Breakfast was abundant and very satisfying. The Owner/Manager accompanied us to ensure we got a taxi at the correct price. 10/10 all round. Thank you for a magical stay
That we only had one night!!!

Verified reviewRoom is very big and the location is central
We stayed on the ground floor, which was a bit noisy. Additionally, there was no way to fully close off the space for privacy. The door is made of glass and, while there is a curtain, it still allows visibility when the light is on. Perhaps a different type of curtain could be considered for better privacy.

Verified reviewIt was clean, breakfast eggs, olives, dates, some jam and margarine, brioche, two types of Moroccan pancakes, but the same every day. Towels changed every day. Quiet neighborhood, great privacy in the Riad and in a great location, close to the square and major shopping streets. Great.
We're sorry, but it seemed like January wasn't the season, so the terrace and the flowers on it were neglected, the pool wasn't working. Nice weather, but you don't feel like going on the terrace...too bad. The packed lunches we insisted on compared to other tourists were pathetic...fruit, yogurt, muffin. And they didn't even give us one on the last day. Better to bring your own toiletries.

Verified reviewA simply perfect stay! This beautiful, authentic Riad of mid-to-high level in the heart of Marrakech exceeded all expectations. The staff is outstanding, with Ahmed, the head of staff, always kind and available—he speaks Italian, which is a huge advantage for Italian guests. Amina and Meriam are incredibly sweet and attentive to every detail. The cleanliness is impeccable, meeting European standards, with high-quality bathroom linens. The breakfast is an unforgettable experience, featuring truly fresh, homemade local products: the yogurt is delicious, the pure fresh fruit juice is amazing, and everything is beautifully served at the table, as is customary in Marrakech. Those expecting a buffet simply don’t understand the authentic Moroccan experience! One day, we asked to have breakfast earlier due to an excursion, and Ahmed went out of his way to accommodate us—something he wasn’t obliged to do, but we truly appreciated it. The location is unbeatable, the best possible spot for exploring Marrakech without getting lost in the medina, which is essential in such a fascinating yet maze-like city. The value for money is excellent, and it’s hard to find anything better. The airport transfer is fairly priced, and absolutely necessary upon arrival—getting lost in the medina is almost guaranteed otherwise! Anyone who doesn’t book it and then complains about the location simply didn’t plan well. The terrace is wonderful, clean, well-equipped, perfect for sunbathing or smoking, and even enjoyable in winter. Although there’s no 24-hour reception, Ahmed is always reachable via WhatsApp or phone, ensuring assistance whenever needed. WiFi works perfectly, which is not always the case in Riads. In short, this Riad is a perfect 10, run with passion and professionalism by an amazing team who make a stay in Marrakech truly special and authentic. We can’t wait to return!
A few small suggestions for the management—none of which affected our stay, but could enhance the experience even further: the extra bed in the suite could be more comfortable, but it’s understandable as an additional bed; for a Riad of this level, it would be nice to have bath products with Moroccan scents in more stylish dispensers instead of generic ones; offering a complimentary bottle of water in the room upon arrival would be a thoughtful touch, as tap water can be problematic for tourists; breakfast starts at 9 AM, which is standard in Marrakech’s Riads since shops don’t even open earlier. Those who complain about this should simply do their research beforehand.
