Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great location in a quiet alley away from the tourist crowds whilst still within walking distance of everything. Very comfortable and clean, delicious breakfast (best bread we've had in Morocco), and super friendly hosts. Amazing value for money. I would love to come back.

United KingdomRoom was very good. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Staff were very accommodating for my elderly father by ensuring we had a room on a lower floor and allowing us to stay a while after check out to rest before travel. It is in a quieter part of the old town along the wall which makes it very easy to find. We were also given a quick introduction to Essaouria and various recommendations which were very helpful for a first visit.

United StatesNothing. Everything exceeded our expectations.
As other guests have indicated, Fatima is an exceptionally kind, generous, accommodating owner. From the moment of our evening arrival & mint tea greeting, we felt welcomed as a valued member of Fatima’s family of guests. Fatima gave us many suggestions of places to eat and things to do. Dinner & drinks at Dar Baba and Coupole were delicious. Our fav was upstairs at Coupole with its view of the beach & sunset. We also had excellent meals at small family run places, including Cafe Berber. The riad is exactly as pictured and is at an ideal location in the medina. We arrived from Marrakech on a Supratours bus which is an easy 10 minute walk away. I had a fabulous hammam - scrub, steam & massage - at a Massages de Berberes, one of Fatima’s recommendations & a short walk from the riad. Fatima can recommend a range of activities, including surfing, dune buggy rides, horseback & camel riding on the beach. My friend and I found that our 2 days were taken up with exploring the medina and all its shops and crafts people and walking & sitting on the beach. And, of course, relaxing in the riad. A couple of practical tips. Buy a large bottle of water at the small essentials shop directly across from the riad to drink and use when brushing teeth. Best place to get dirhams is Bank Al Barid at Post Maroc, not far outside to medina. There is no commission fee although your bank or credit card company may charge a fee.

IcelandThere is no AC and the city is damp so the window to our room had to be open most of the time. It’s a bit difficult to cary big luggage up the stairs but that is to be expected in a old house like this. They clean with a lot of chlorine and the smell was really strong and triggerd a migraine. But Fatima was kind and agreed not to clean with that in my room during my stay
Fatima the hostess is a wonderful person, helpful and kind. The property is cosy and quiet

CanadaOnly good things to say about this place! The location is perfect, the room was spacious and clean, the bathroom was spotless, breakfast was delicious and the terrace was a gorgeous place to relax at the end of a long day of exploration. We also had some laundry done here and we’re very satisfied with the service. As everyone mentioned before, Fatima is the real gem of this place: she is welcoming, gives tons of informations about the city and is always willing to help with whatever you might need. Keep in mind that like everywhere else in Morocco, sound isolation is not great so bring earplugs and you’ll be just fine!

Fatima and her dedicated team manage a supberb riad. The location is excellent, at the outer edge of the medina and a short walking distance from a gate leading to a big parking area (paid). Everything in this riad is nice and comfortable: The decor in common areas and the rooms, the beds, the terrace etc. Wifi is very good as well as the breakfast. Don't waste your time looking elsewhere for accommodation.

Pretty riad, lovely terrace, beds are really comfortable. Rooms are spacious, bathroom is lovely with good water pressure. Even a kettle is provided - nice touch Great location on a quiet street on edge of medina Friendly & helpful staff Note that rooms are cleaned & towels changed daily. The housekeeper is lovely & extremely thorough. Not something we are used to or expect, appreciate the work involved but seemed unnecessary to us to be done every day - lots of extra work for housekeeper! Also be aware that you will return to find windows of your room wide open. Important to keep the place aired we understand but it took us by surprise

United StatesFatima's hospitality was unmatched. She gave us good advice, made a dinner reservation for us, and even offered to barter for us when we couldn't get a good price on our own. Her warm goodbye made a lasting impression that we'll always think of when reminiscing about Morocco. We loved the breakfast in a beautiful little room with colorful tiles and comfortable cushions.

We spent five days in Riad Dar Abi and it was fabulous. Fatima, Ahmed and Fatima looked after us so well. The Riad is spotlessly clean, linens were changed every day. The food was delicious and plentiful. The rooms are large and have very comfortable beds. The roof terrace is a super chilled space. It is in a quiet area but a very short walk from the heart of the Medina. Fatima made us feel so welcomed and provided lots of really helpful information on what to do in the area. She genuinely makes you feel like a long lost relative, even checked that we had got to the airport safely after we checked out 💕
