How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAbdoul and Mustafa were great hosts! In particular, Abdoul was present for most of our stay. He was a fantastic host, was very attentive to our needs, made us traditional breakfasts, tea and coffee when we wanted, and shared his culture with us. And even before we got to Marrakech, Mustafa was responding very quickly to all of our queries. We recommend booking a taxi to and from the airport with them in advance as this made travelling seamless, especially if it’s your first time in Marrakech. Abdoul kindly met us at a parking lot, even carried our suitcase and walked us to the Riad (cars can’t enter the street it’s in). It was just a 2-3 minute walk. The Riad is very comfortable and clean, and looked just like the photos. The room was cleaned and towels were changed everyday. The location was great, within walking distance from many of the attractions we wanted to go to and only a few minutes walk from Jemaa el-Fna square. But even though it was in the heart of the medina, the Riad was still very quiet. There is also a nice spacious terrace to relax in or eat breakfast. Overall, a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend staying here!
No complaints, but some things for other guests to be aware of: This is possibly just our room or a common occurrence in Marrakech, but our shower fluctuated between hot and cold. We could anticipate the changes, so it wasn't a big issue for us. We also didn’t mention this to them since we didn’t think of it as a huge issue, so perhaps they would have fixed it if made aware. The room is also a little dark during the day (especially with the curtains drawn for privacy, there would be little light), but it was comfortable at night. This also wasn’t a huge issue since we would be out during the day anyway.
Dear Rocel Thank you for your heartwarming review! We're delighted to know that you felt at home during your stay with us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon! Best regards Mustafa & Abdul

Verified reviewWe had an incredible stay at this beautiful riad! Our hosts - Abderrahman and Mustafa were super welcoming and went above and beyond to help us book activities and arrange airport transfers. The breakfasts were amazing, and the hosts happily tailored them to our preferences. The location is perfect, centrally located in the medina, close to all the hot spots and markets. The riad itself is stunning, with a cozy atmosphere and a fantastic rooftop perfect for relaxation. The rooms were lovely, and the cleaning was top-notch. We'd highly recommend this riad to anyone looking for a comfortable and authentic Moroccan experience!

Verified reviewThe Riad was decorated beautifully and very clean. Upon arrival my husband and I were greeted by Abdoul who made us feel at home and served us some Moroccan tea and biscuits. He then showed us to our room and gave us all the information we needed. He also gave us information about the area and all the excursions we could book. We were served a freshly made breakfast everyday.

Verified reviewThe staff Abdul, Zakaria and the lady were very helpful and nice. As taxis can't get to the Riad because of the small lanes, Abdul was kind enough to meet us at the taxi rank and carry our luggage to the Riad. Inside the Riad is nice with traditional Moroccan architecture, bed was very comfortable. It was slightly away from the busy market street so was peaceful. Rooms are on floors 1 & 2, the terrace on the 2nd floor is nice. Good Wi-Fi connection. Towels were changed daily. Location was great, very close to shops, restaurants and two big squares.
Don't expect a 4* standard! There's no TV in the room so you have to come down to the lounge (breakfast area) to watch TV. No tea/ coffee making facility in room. The outside of the Riad is not very welcoming with litter and rubbish on the streets (guess this is normal in Marrakesh). Most of the shops and restaurants only take cash (no cards).

Verified reviewAbdoul znd Zakaria are very professional and friendly. Riad is located in the heart of Medina. Amazind and Unforgettable place to spend your stay in Marrakech. We felt in love with this country and city. I highly recommend to choose this Riad for your stay if you are looking for a great value equal to price. Rooms are clean and new, great breakfast. 24/7 workers available. It was GREAT STAY!
Some noise from the outside of Riad. I would reccomend to remove the plastic coverage with the long plastic part going into main fountain inside of the Riad, it makes the pictures not as nice as they can be. Maybe, changing Fountain into the small pool will make the Riad even more attractive.

Verified reviewRiad Dar Arwa is a true gem in the heart of Marrakech. The location is perfect, allowing easy access to the city’s main attractions while providing a peaceful retreat. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and cleaned daily to perfection. Breakfast is delicious, with a variety of fresh yummies and traditional tea that make every morning special. However, what truly made our stay exceptional was Abdu Ramahan. He went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience—offering helpful recommendations, serving us tea and pastries, and taking care of us when we weren’t feeling well because of the flu 🤧 . When I asked for help with a surprise for my wife, he not only arranged it but exceeded all expectations. His kindness, dedication, and warm hospitality made this stay unforgettable. Thank you kindly and I will definitely come back to the Riad when I will return to Marrakesh!
There is nothing to dislike. Everything was beyond expectations.

Verified reviewClean, new Riad. Very helpful staff, the entire team really goes the extra mile if you need something. (Zakaria e.g. directly drove on his motor to the other end of the city to pick up the special medicine we needed)
The location instruction for arrival could be more clear. Our experience: The best drop-off point is parking Riad Zitoun Jdid. From there it is a 350 meter walk into the Medina to the Riad Dar Arwa: - At the yellow/green sign of Patisserie Corne de Gazelle find the entrance of the low overarched alley. - In the alley turn two times left and you will find the door of Riad Dar Arwa at your left hand. The location is best approximated at Google maps (although not alleys that are present are shown/named on Google maps) Note: Booking.com and the website of the Riad (as per January 2025) provided an incorrect location at their maps, since there are multiple Derb El Arsa’s in Marrakech.

Ilyas, Zakariya & Mariam could not have been more welcoming & hospitable. From arranging airport transfers, providing delicious breakfasts, to sharing sight seeing recommendations. A very special thank you to each of them, they could not have been anymore helpful. We highly recommend the Riad Dar Arwa & would very happily return.
