How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI had the most wonderful stay here, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! Jamal was absolutely fantastic – such a kind and welcoming host. Every day he made me fresh mint tea and cooked a delicious breakfast. On the mornings when I had early tours, he even prepared a packed breakfast for me to take along, which was such a thoughtful touch. The air conditioning worked perfectly, making the room super comfortable. The location is ideal – just far enough from the main area to enjoy peace and quiet at night, yet only a short 5-minute walk to be back in the heart of all the action. If you’re considering staying here, don’t hesitate – you won’t regret it!

Verified reviewBEWARE! DO NOT STAY HERE! The owner, Morgane, is a racist French women. The employees are all Moroccans. The riad transport is a taxi. The taxi driver did not show up to pick us up. So we took a taxi instead. When I told the owner she accused me of being dishonest and not looking for the taxi driver. Morgane insisted that the taxi driver was there and waiting for us. The riad is difficult to find. There are no signs leading to the riad. The door to the riad does not have a sign either. As soon as we arrived the elder male employee called Morgane. Morgane didn't realize that I am Canadian and I understand French very well. The man's phone volume was high so I could hear the entire conversation. Morgane asked him if we were white, to which he responded no. She immediately told him to make us pay for the stay in cash before we are given keys to our room. This and the fact they don't have any signs for the riad is very unusual. This makes me think this isn't a legally registered business. The stay itself and the riad are fine, but the staff weren't very friendly or hospitable. I assume they have learned this from Morgane. Very disappointed with our stay.
This customer wrote lies. He didn't take the taxi he ordered. He didn't look for it. The driver was at the station and waited for an hour. The customer arrived at the Riad in another taxi. I told him he was dishonest; he had the driver's phone number; he should have called him to cancel it. The customer couldn't stand me telling him the truth; he wanted revenge by writing lies. I am truly disappointed in his behavior and his aggression towards the staff.

Verified review"Jamal, the owner of the establishment, is a very helpful person and, in every situation, he tried—and succeeded—in every way to accommodate us. From providing a takeaway breakfast to finding us a taxi early in the morning.
The only downside was finding two single beds instead of a double one."

Verified reviewThe hotel was lovely, typically Moroccan in style. A basic but nice breakfast. Our host was lovely and very helpful.
The bathroom was quite smelly as they use a septic tank.

Verified reviewRiad is located in a very nice area of Medina. All tourist's attractions are nearby, in a 10 minute walk. The interior is made in a traditional maroccon style. Beds are comfortable, and rooms are very clean. Towels and blankets are white and good smelling. Fresh orange juice served for breakfast was sweet! Jamal was nice and friendly! He helped us with everything between laundry service and getting the taxi to the station. The best manager I've ever met!
There was a smell in the bathroom when the door is open

Verified reviewWe had a lovely stay celebrating our anniversary at Riad Dar Colline. Jamal and Fouzia were amazing and were so attentive. The room was exactly as described and the facilities were brilliant, including the beautifully designed terrace lounge area. The breakfast was delicious and we never had the same thing twice, which allowed us to taste different things, that were local to Marrakesh. We had daily housekeeping, which was great. Would also highly recommend the airport transfer that the riad offers as it is one of the best deals out there. The location was central, a 15 minute walk to the main square, 20 minute walk to the Jardin Marjorelle and a half an hour walk to the Bahia Palace and the Saadian Tombs. There is also a lovely patisserie and coffee shop in the vicinity as well, as well as the Henna cafe.
