Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWorth noting, and not a problem for me, that the steps to each floor are steep and high set.
Loved the authentic Riad experience, located within the real Medina. Just what we were looking for. Staff were kindly and polite, very helpful. Main door was locked so you buzzed in and out, making safety a priority. Furnishings and beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was traditional Morroccan with lots of plates, different breads, pancakes, rolls, omelette, yogurt, fruit salad, olives, coffee & orange juice. Really fills you up for the day ahead exploring. No pressure to eat in at night, no problem to order take out from the app. Welcome Moroccan tea was a nice touch. Fresh towels, and toiletries as required, easy to ask for anything required, staff spoke enough English.

PortugalOn the less positive side, the location is a little further from some of the main sites, which meant longer walks through the busier parts of the medina. We visited in late August, so with the heat and crowds this sometimes felt tiring. Another small point was that the water pressure from the sink and shower could be a bit weak at times, and we experienced some issues with the TV satellite, so we weren’t able to fully use that feature.
We had a really lovely stay at Abelia Riyad. Our room was on the top floor right next to the breakfast area, which felt very private and exclusive, and we especially enjoyed the beautiful terrace views – very authentic and charming. The air conditioning in the room was excellent, and the beds were extremely comfortable, which made for a very relaxing stay. We also appreciated that we didn’t need to walk too much within the property itself. The atmosphere of the riad feels very authentic, and the staff truly made our stay special. They were so kind and attentive, always happy to answer questions, serve tea, and make sure we felt welcome. Breakfast was generous and hospitable, and the overall service from everyone was outstanding.

United KingdomIn the hot weather you keep the windows open and because of that you could hear opening doors and people returning to the Riad in the late hours. Early in the morning you could hear noise from the restaurant area. I think the noise was part of the real experience being in Marocco.
The staff were amazing. Sofian (not sure about the spelling) helped us with everything we asked for. Abdulah was always smiling, welcoming and helpful. The room was charming and authentic. The location is not right in the heart of the town but there is nearby pick up location for the tours, so it did not bother us. At this location we saw the daily life of the locals. There is tourist’s shopping area at 5-10 minutes walking distance. We loved the food at this place. We had meal outside the Riad, but the taste was not as good. You do not get a menu with choice in the Riad but everything served is cooked right before the meal, served hot and arranged with love. We felt very well looked after. If you want to feel the life in Marocco, you should come to this Riad.

BelgiumWow…. to survive in the hot climate and dense heat of Marrakesh you need a fresh and clean place to cool off. This place offers a pool to do exactly that with cute little birds flying inside the building resulting the most pitoresque view. The breakfast will fill you up nicely, the staff is most helpful and friendly and the airconditioning offers extra shelter from the heat! The showers, bedding and rooms all have nothing to complain about! The area around can be sketchy in the way that people will bother you to ask for money but such behavior is to be found around all medinas in Morocco, the staff will surely help you or give you tips to avoid this! Recommend!

I had an amazing experience during my stay in Marrakech. From the moment I arrived, the hosts went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They were incredibly warm, friendly, and always ready to help with anything I needed – true examples of outstanding hospitality. Their kindness and genuine care made a huge difference in my overall experience. The room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, with cozy beds that made for a great night's sleep. Everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The breakfast each morning was delicious – fresh, varied, and plentiful, a perfect way to start the day. The location was also great – just a 15-minute walk from the main square, so it was easy to explore the city while still enjoying a peaceful and quiet place to relax at the end of the day. I can't recommend this place enough. The hosts truly make it special, and I would absolutely stay here again!

New ZealandOur family of 5 very much enjoyed our 3-night stay at Abelia Riad. The riad feels clean, safe, and authentically Moroccan. We were greeted by Abdul who kindly brought us tea, showed us to our room, and explained how the riad worked. Abdul was very patient with our many questions, which we really appreciated. Breakfast was lovely, the plunge pool was refreshing, and the riad is located only a short walk from the main square. We would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a proper Moroccan riad experience! Thank you Abelia Riad for a lovely stay.

United KingdomThere wasn’t a fridge in the room, which would have been convenient, but the staff did provide access to a shared one where we could store our things, which was helpful. The location might feel a bit intimidating at first, especially if you're unfamiliar with the Medina, but we never experienced any issues—on the contrary, the locals were always friendly and welcoming.
The staff at the Riad were truly outstanding—so warm, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was lovely every morning and our room was cleaned daily. The Riad itself is beautifully decorated, offering a relaxing environment. Jemaa-el-Fna is within walking distance (around 20 minutes), and there's a convenient taxi point just a few minutes away, which made getting around really easy. Overall, we had a fantastic stay!

United StatesThe Riad is a beautiful traditional building. I booked a room on the top floor where I enjoyed sitting on the terrace after it would cool down. The personal of the Riad is very welcoming, attentive and helpful. They always helped me with providing necessary information and with practical things that made my stay enjoyable. For breakfast I had everything I needed to start long tours…😁 The center of the Medina is in a walking distance (17-20 min), but it was easy to get a taxi from a nearby spot that’s less than 5 min away.

The staff were amazing, especially Youssef and Abde. They were flexible with our itineraries and made sure we got the best of the place, with helpful recommendations and advice. The Riad itself is gorgeous, mostly quiet and close enough to the main road to take the bus, taxi or mini van. 10/10 would recommend. Our favourite thing was the pool and the rooftop

United StatesWay too far away from the center. Took about 25 minutes in blazing heat to walk there for meals and shopping and entertainment. It is in a run down area with no places to eat. The bathroom door didn’t close tightly so it was a bit noisy. They did not provide any drinking water so we had to buy a few bottles. The main staff was very new (one week) and was still learning and he couldn’t give much advice and he was a bit busy so we had to wait a long time for assistance. Had to go out to courtyard for Wi-Fi.
Quiet, lovely and peaceful Riad. The cool pool in center was amazing and very needed to refresh after a hot day. Breakfast was nice and I had the best coffee of my life there!

We spent 4 exceptional days here. The riad is beautiful, quiet and the terrace is perfect for relaxing after a long day. The room is cleaned every day, the breakfast is very good and sufficient to start the day. The riad is 20 min walking from Jemaa el Fna, 10 min by taxi (ask for the Bab Aylan gate, 5 min walk from the riad). I find the location excellent, accessible and the Bab Aylan gate is often one of the meeting places for activities. It's true that arriving late at night can be disconcerting for a first-time visitor (like I was) , as in all cities you have to be careful, but this feeling passes with the kindness of the Moroccans, walking home or going into the center was just a real pleasure. We would like to make a special mention of Abdullah, who was absolutely fabulous with us, always present, extremely respectful and did his utmost to meet our expectations. Our next visits to Marrakech will be to this riad without any hesitation thanks to him ! Merci pour tout !
