How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewClean, close but not in the village have some rest from the chaos of Marrakech. Omar was perfect, responded to questions and made sure everything was good. I had wonderful, huge breakfast served when I liked. I had two dinners there that were better than any restaurant in the village by far! Make sure you eat there! Rooms had amazing views and were large. Bed was very comfortable. Everything was great.

Verified reviewWe absolutely loved our stay at Riad Dar Omar. The location is stunning, surrounded by the beauty of the Atlas Mountains : peaceful, quiet. Our hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. They arranged a beautiful hike for us with a local guide, which was one of the highlights of our trip. The views were breathtaking and the experience felt truly authentic. The room was simple, very clean, and comfortable. We also really enjoyed the homemade dinner and breakfast, everything was fresh, generous, and made with care.
Nothing at all — everything was simple, calm, and exactly what we needed

Verified reviewLovely helpful staff (thank you ladys!), clean room and bathroom, amazing breakfast with the amazing view from the rooftop terrace. Lovely area to do hiking, thanks for the recommendation where to go. they will make you a fire in the chimney if it’s cold.
Sadly my mountain view room had a lantern directly in front of the window so that it’s like daylight during nighttime. The curtains shut it down a bit but it’s not dark at all and you won’t see the sunrise. The muezzin calls right next door at 5:30am (everywhere in the valley of Imlil), bring your earplugs to keep it soft… It would be great to have some information (inspiration?) on paper where to go or where to get a guide or some tourist stuff to do. Imlil is not the most welcoming place for female solo travelers (it seems that they are still not used to see women walking around alone).

Verified reviewWe had a very pleasant stay at Dar Omar. The place is very clean, peaceful, and comfortable — it really felt like home. The food was excellent, especially the breakfast, which was absolutely delicious. The terrace has a beautiful view, and even the rooms offer great scenery. The staff was helpful, and La Malika was always smiling and attentive. The owner was also very friendly.
Just a few things to keep in mind: access by car is not easy, as there’s a rough dirt road on the way. For those walking at night, the path can be a bit tricky because there’s no lighting. Also, it can get noisy in the morning due to groups speaking loudly or neighbors nearby — it would be good to let future guests know in advance.

Verified reviewThe riad was a lovely place to stay. The room was nicely decorated, and the terrace had a beautiful view of the mountains. Omar was very welcoming. The breakfast was nice, and the food was tasty.
However, when we first arrived, we felt a bit uncomfortable, as it felt more like stepping into someone’s house rather than a hotel. The lady at the reception wasn’t very welcoming at first—she was busy with phone calls and made us wait. When I asked for a toilet for the kids as it was quite urgent, she said we have to wait until she confirmed with Omar before we could use the one in our room. Also, to have dinner at the riad, you need to place your order in the afternoon, which we didn’t know. We asked for dinner quite late, but luckily, they accommodated our request. Another downside was that the WiFi wasn’t working most of the time, which was quite inconvenient.

Verified reviewExcellent breakfast with lots of food, accommodating and kind family, our rooms gave to a large living room so it felt much more like an apartment than a room. Views were beautiful.
It’s a bit of a walk to the core of the village, but that was fine for us.

Verified reviewWonderful place, wonderful people! The family were very kind, welcoming and accomodating, guided me to find the Riad and prepared dinner for me at the late time that I arrived. The room was comfortable, everything seemed new yet with a traditional feel and it was sparkling clean. Amazing view from the terrace. Made me want to stay longer! Thank you for the hospitality!
