How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI had a pleasant stay at Riad DarNooz . My room was very clean, and the breakfast was extensive and delicious. The riad is in a gated area with a pool, shops, and restaurants, making everything easily accessible. The owners are also very reachable for any questions. There's a book with sightseeing ideas, which is super handy! This place is highly recommended, and I will definitely book it again!

Verified reviewI gave a very high grade cause was very good communication with host and he helped me. A very clean and nice decorated place, good shower and bathroom. Maybe for riad in Marrakech is good, but I have no compensation data as my first time. Nice that you find coffee, tea and water in the kitchen. Luckily small room and AC was coping well.
I booked a room with balcony and was not even a window - unacceptable. Very strange location in a residential area surrounded by walls and only one gate on opposite side of the neighbourhood, more than 1 km away from location on booking - unacceptable
Dear Mihai, Thank you for taking the time to leave a detailed review. We truly appreciate your kind words about the cleanliness, the decor, and our communication it means a lot to us. Regarding the room: you booked our most budget-friendly option. This particular room has a window that opens to the interior hallway of the riad rather than to the outside, which is clearly mentioned in the room details. Because of this, we’re able to offer it at a lower price compared to our other rooms with outward-facing windows. Riad Darnooz is located in a quiet, residential area with a gated entrance for added security and privacy something many of our guests actually appreciate. However, we understand this might feel different from what some travelers expect. We still hope to welcome you again in the future perhaps in a different room that better suits your preferences. Kind regards, The Riad Darnooz team

Verified reviewWhat a magical stay! From the moment the doors opened, I was immersed in peace, hospitality, and authentic Moroccan charm. Every corner of the riad breathes warmth, style, and attention to detail… Breakfast was delicious, the room impeccably cared for, and the service truly outstanding…
Nothing! Riad Darnooz, you have my heart ♥️ Thanku Fatiha

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay at this beautiful accommodation. It is located in a gated community with a pool, which made it feel very safe. There was also a small supermarket and some restaurants within the community, which was very convenient. The hosts were super friendly and helpful — they always responded quickly and made sure everything was perfect during my stay. I would definitely recommend it and would stay here again!
The Wi-Fi in my room was unfortunately quite weak — but this seems to be common in many places in Morocco. Also, the rooms are not very soundproof, so you can hear your neighbors, but luckily it was very quiet during my stay. But overall I was really happy to stay there.

Verified reviewIt was in a secure residential area and made me feel like I lived in Marrakech, easily accessible and had most of what I needed, the rooms were nice, the rooftop was my favourite place to go, the bugs were a problem though.
The rooms were a bit small and I had assumed room service meant my room would be cleaned, breakfast was a little too expensive for me.

Verified reviewThe communication with the owner was excellent. They were extremely accommodating and facilitated us by keeping our bags for a couple of hours on our last day. The host was very friendly and able to communicate to us through Google Translate. The breakfast was very nice and tasty. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was lovely and powerful. The room and facilities were always exceptionally clean. The rooftop sunloungers were private and concealed, with a sun umbrella. There was a hairdryer in the communal press. The complex where the riad is located is manned by security and felt very safe. The pool was a lovely bonus. The location is a 25/30 minute walk to the main Madina. However, it is located just outside the town wall and we liked this.
Very little. The many cats outside scream early in the morning, and so earplugs are recommended if you want 7/8 hours of sleep. Each room is up a few steps, so you must be able to climb stairs.

Verified reviewThe staff were really nice, room was clean, the roof top garden was lovely.
I was very disappointed to find that the pool was closed the whole time we were staying at the hotel, no prior warning was given, one of my requirements was to have a pool, hence why I booked it, prior warning should have been given.

Verified reviewLarge, beautifully decorated riad, very clean, the peppermint tea our host served was amazing also. Not far from medina, there's also stores near the main gates for grocerioes. Rooftop was cosy and very nice for relaxing after a busy day. Would definitely book again.
The aircon remote took some figuring out, but otherwise, it was very good and modern.

Verified reviewHad an amazing stay at this beautiful and super clean riad! The hygiene is absolutely perfect; everything was spotless. The location is great, you can relax in peace, but the center is still close by. The Wi-Fi is super strong; I worked all day without any issues. The hosts are so friendly and always happy to help. Definitely recommend!

Verified reviewThe Riad was beautiful, featuring a modern design blended with traditional décor, which I personally loved as it offered the perfect mix of a traditional feel with modern comforts. The location was excellent—peaceful with no noise from outside—and easily accessible by taxi to various places. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the general space was consistently clean throughout my stay. The mint tea served was absolutely delicious, and the owner was very accommodating and helpful, always available whenever I reached out. Additionally, the owner allowed me to store my items after checkout, which was incredibly convenient since I had a late flight. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and the thoughtful touches made my stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The Riad is located quite a distance from the medina and other tourist attractions (around a 45-minute walk or more), which wasn't an issue for me as I had planned to use taxis throughout my stay. However, the language barrier with the host was frustrating and made communication quite difficult. We tried using Google Translate, but it wasn’t effective, leading to mutual frustration and delays in conveying simple points. When I arrived at 5 PM, there was no one to welcome me, contrary to what had been advised (that the host would be around until 8 PM). Since you’re coming into someone’s home, it would have been nice to be shown around and informed about how things work. There was no flexibility to have breakfast severed earlier during days you need to be out as early as 7/8. Lastly, a recommendation for the owner would be to offer more options for guests to explore. For example, when I asked where to get certain items, the only suggestions were one specific shop near the Riad. This shop didn’t always have everything I needed, which meant looking elsewhere, which is fine when you have time but not in an urgent situation. Additionally, the owner, Said, doesn’t speak English, which made communication even more challenging.

Verified reviewMy daughter and I really enjoyed staying at the Riad. The riad is quiet and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast. The staff are really friendly and helpful. A big shout out to Abdes for all the information and tips. Another shout out to Fatia, who made us feel at home and prepared a lovely breakfast.

Poor storage in the room. Location further out than we expected and difficult to get taxis to pick us up. Long walk into town not safe at night - we were robbed Poor breakfast
Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion. We felt very sorry for the resident outside our residence, that could have been avoided. the breakfast was as usual not included in the price of the room, and you refused to take breakfast? A basic breakfast was offered for free by Fatiha which you did not find good enough? Take good care and thanks in advance for your visit 🙏🏼
