How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRiad Dombaraka is an oasis in the craziness of the medina. It has a welcoming atmosphere. The plunge pool is unbelievable for a cool off and there is unlimited filtered water in the kitchen. The staff are very helpful. Mme Dominique will give you great, no nonsense advice for exploring, eating out and staying safe. The location is perfect for exploring the medina. The riad is kept very clean.
There was a smell coming up through the plughole in the bathroom of our suite. This smell is really ubiquitous in Marrakech medina but it would have been lovely if we'd not had it in our bathroom. We put shampoo bottles over the plugholes to keep the smell out, which helped a bit.

Verified reviewDominique (host) was very helpful and welcoming. You feel like you’re part of the family there. I was apprehensive about getting lost in the Medina but she gave great tips! Staff is genuinely kind and accommodating. It’s close to everything. very efficient transfer to and from airport through the riad also.

Verified reviewLocation was great, breakfast was good. Overall staff was nice, but there was one employee who was not always very nice.
When we arrived, we were told that beer and wine was complimentary and available in the kitchen's refrigerator. However, on our last day, a different employee said no, and charged me for some beer which I consumed. He was also not very nice about it. I feel this was a "bait and switch" situation where I was told it was free and then charged for it. I felt he was not going to arrange my transportation to the airport so I reluctantly paid it.
I'm really sorry for the misunderstanding, but as far as I know there's no hotel where you can walk into the kitchen and help yourself to unlimited wine and beer from the fridge.....

Verified reviewAbsolutely stunning decor and overall space. My room was fantastic, the staff incredibly accommodating and helpful.
Unfortunately, during our stay a large group of friends were also staying at the Riad. They held 2 large, long and very noisy dinner parties 2 of the 3 nights we stayed there. Dominique is incredibly accommodating- which is one of the great things about this Riad- but this was also a challenge for us the night of the 2nd dinner party- as we had to get up VERY early the next am to catch our flight.

Verified reviewBeautifully appointed tranquil Riad in the center of the Medina with friendly and helpful host and staff.
It can get a bit loud if a large group is staying there.

Verified reviewBeautiful, quiet and peaceful Riad centrally located. Great staff, honest and super attention to delightful detail.
Staff were super friendly, honest and very helpful but overall look (especially at breakfast) would benefit from a casual generic uniform / clothing rather than sports tracksuits.

Verified reviewFor anyone wanting the riad experience, I doubt you could do better than Riad Dombaraka. It is a beautiful building and Dominique and her staff are very attentive. It is located down a quiet (but easy to find) passageway and is truly an oasis from the madness of the souks around it - once you enter the door you are in cool, calm tranquility. It is the perfect central location, with Jemaa el-Fna less than 10 minutes walk away, only 5 minutes from Madrasa Ben Youssef, 10 minutes to Dar El Bacha, etc. The place is spotlessly clean and well maintained.
Nothing :)

Verified reviewThis riad is absolutely stunning and has everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay! Dominique, our host, was incredibly warm and helpful — she went above and beyond with amazing restaurant recommendations, insider tips for navigating the medina, and even helped us make reservations. We loved starting our mornings with a delicious traditional breakfast on the terrace, soaking in the beautiful views. And the Hammam and massage? So relaxing! Highly recommend! The location is excellent, well within the medina and just 5-7mins walk from the main square. The airport cab couldn't go all the way to the Riad but that's the case with most riads if you want good location within the medina. But there is tuktuk :) Would suggest to book the taxi from the riad (which we should have) to make sure your arrival is pleasant and you don't have to carry your luggage through the souks.

Verified reviewDominique and her team were very welcoming, friendly, and informative. The riad is located only 10 minutes away from the main market square, and is a lovely example of the traditional riad. The rooftop terrace, where you enjoy your breakfast, offers great views of the city. Definitely worth a stay.

Verified reviewThe best thing about this riad has to be the incredibly comfortable beds — we slept so well! The location is also great: close enough to the main square to walk there easily, but tucked away in a quiet area, so you don’t hear any noise at night. The staff, including the owner, are very kind and always willing to help with any questions or arranging things like taxis or tuk-tuks. The breakfast was excellent too — a really nice start to the day. Lastly, we were really happy with the clean towels everyday. Overall, it’s a lovely riad and a great place to stay, especially if it’s your first time in Marrakech. The only reason we’re giving it a 9 instead of a 10 is because of an issue with the payment. We paid in dirham for two nights and later realized we ended up paying €302 instead of the expected €290. This was explained as “currency exchange fees,” but that didn’t make much sense, since the dirham amount we paid didn’t match the agreed euro price. So just a heads-up — it’s better to pay online or double-check the exchange rate and amount in dirham to avoid being overcharged. Also, a downside: the shower head couldn’t be fixed into the holder, which made washing your hair pretty inconvenient. Still, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!

Verified reviewAll the staff were fanstastic. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Dominique arranged a private trip to a village (a staff member was from the village ) and we met their family in the Atlas mountain village and had the best welcome food and lunch. The rooms in the Riad are exceptionally well presented and comfortable. The food in the Riad is amazing and the breakfast is plentiful and very delicious. Could not have asked for better.

Thank you very much for your very kind appreciation. I upgraded you to a very nice room as the one you booked was not suitable for your family and we did what you asked for extra for breakfasts. I really hoped it was better than "decent". Yours sincerely Dominique

The position in the Souk. It was difficult to find, even with Google maps. I strongly recommend engaging the hotel taxi to and from the airport.
