We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe wasp - but that is not something the Riad can control on the rooftop
Once you step through the door, you enter into an amazing 17th century perfectly restored oasis. After enjoying the main space with a cup of Moroccan mint tea, I was taken to my room (I was upgraded to the ambassador suite) with a table full of delicious treats which made me feel like a princess. The breakfast is delicious, each day different local dishes. And the pool is a perfect way to cool off after a day walking through the medina. Overall a lovely hidden gem to recover from the hustle and bustle of Fes. Best of all, the staff truly went above and beyond. Unfortunately I got stung by a wasp on the rooftop terrace and as I am allergic they drove me to the hospital, so I could get to an IV injection to prevent the allergic reaction. Thanks to their quick action I got to enjoy my stay in Fed (and never even saw a hospital bill)

United StatesI do not know if the Sama rooftop restaurant is the same owners as hotel but I do not recommend it. After eating there I had terrible food illness, but no problems with the hotel breakfast. However there is a fabulous restaurant walking distance that has an incredible view called L’Amandier.
They upgraded my room to a palatial suite. Offered services like tours which came in handy when our guide canceled last moment.

United StatesIt’s located in the Medina so it’s not the best location for wandering around on your own without a guide, however it’s great value for a beautiful and traditional riad experience. It was perfect for two nights in Fes and we booked a guide to show us around!
Absolutely stunning riad - beautiful design and a historic building. It was like staying in an art gallery!

United StatesThis property is jaw dropping. By and away the most beautiful hotel I have experienced. My entire phone is filled with photos of the hotel as I could not stop myself from admiring the beauty. The staff was extremely helpful and I couldn’t ask for anything more. My stay was truly an exceptional experience.

United KingdomThe Riad is so stunning, like a hidden oasis. Zahra, Aicha, Zakaria and the rest of the staff were very kind and took good care of us. The hamam experience was also great.

FranceI booked better and bigger room then they gave us, I had to ask few times showing my booking confirmation and they finally gave us better room but only for 1 night out of 3, quite disappointing. Without any suggestion to compensate etc. didn’t want to argue and spoil my vacation further. Spa facilities very poor and massage offered was not good and expensive (better quality is easy to find). Service very slow , you can wait your breakfast for really long
Nice beautiful property, renovated common area, good location, nice personnel

VietnamBut in terms of service, there was a lack of attention to detail on the part of management. A request for pick up from the train station went unanswered, the second towel we asked for was never delivered, nor was the second chair we asked for, and the smell from the pipes in the bathroom was also unattended. Throughout the day, the schmaltzy music that was piped through the common areas at a slightly intrusive volume was competing with the heavy beat of the music coming from the bar on the roof - so not so relaxing! This was by far the most expensive place we stayed in during our 2 weeks in Morocco, and by far the most disappointing!
Aesthetically the riad was beautiful and the beds were super comfortable. We also enjoyed a delicious meal on the rooftop one evening.

MartiniqueRooms not precisely as in pictures, value ok but not amazing, waited quite a bit for dinner and the transfer we booked to get to Casablanca was a bit of a mess in the morning as cash was required.

United StatesThe riad is comprised of multiple connected buildings with rooms that greatly vary in size. It’s definitely worth it to spend a little more for a nicer room and if you have accessibility issues, be sure to request a room on the first floor or one that is accessible via the elevator. The food at the riad was tasty but a little pricier than expected. Also note: the rooftop restaurant is NOT affiliated with the hotel. They require reservations and are not very hospitable.
Staying at Dar El Amine was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that made me feel right at home. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail of my stay was perfect—always kind, incredibly accommodating, and eager to help with anything I needed. The decor is absolutely stunning—elegant, traditional, and thoughtfully designed to reflect the rich history and charm of Fes. Every corner of the riad feels like a step back in time, yet it’s perfectly comfortable and inviting. This wasn’t just a place to stay—it felt like being part of a home. Authentic, peaceful, and full of heart. I can’t wait to return. The location is just a couple minute walk inside the Medina. Easy to access the Main Street for easy transport and the area felt safe although we did not venture out at night and enjoyed the property instead.
