How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay at Riad Bab Lakhmiss! It is such good value for money and the owner Frank and the night manager Abdel are so lovely. Big shout out to Abdel who sat down with us on the first evening and explained some tips and tricks for the area, and showed us an offline map app to use. We really appreciated this! The breakfast was lovely warm pastries and bread, with a selection of jams and some cream cheese, alongside orange juice and either tea or coffee. Its simple but yummy! The pool was actually slightly bigger than I expected, and was perfect for cooling off in during the very hot June weather! The interiors were lovely and you really do get that riad experience at such a low price point. Would highly recommend for your stay in Marrakech. Our AC wasn't working properly, the staff did try to fix it but I think there was some problem with the coolant so probably need to get a service person in! We slept with the window open into the centre of the Riad which helped cool the room down and we weren't particularly bothered by any noise - but of course depends what you are used to.

Your comment does not reflect our establishment at all. You noted the exterior and the street. Know that you are in an authentic district of Marrakech. It is certainly a change from Europe. You have to know how to adapt to local life. I advise you to spend your vacation in Europe.

Verified reviewThe staff were so lovely and helpful. Abdel stayed awake for us as our plane was delayed, and we checked in late. He showed us an app to navigate the area offline and bookmarked all the highlights in Marrakech for us. The lovely man running the breakfast service remembered our drink order and had it ready for us without asking the following mornings. Clean sheets and towels, and they made the bed for us each day while we were out :)
Some of the surfaces could do with a more thorough clean, like the bedroom floors and bathroom counters/shower.

Verified reviewThe Riad is located inside the medina in a residential area. It’s beautifully decorated, rooms are well equipped and cleaning takes place daily. The breakfast is also very reasonable and delicious. There is a terrace as well and offers good views. Staff are very friendly and always ready to help! Rooms overall feel very cozy and comfortable.
The location! Download maps.me before you come because google maps and other maps will never show you the correct route. We got lost for almost an hour in the medina in the middle of the night because our taxi driver couldn’t get any closer to the riad. Thankfully, the staff are so wonderful they guided us step by step and we arrived safely.

Verified reviewBed was reasonably comfortable, breakfast was fine, neighbourhood was mostly families and felt safe, good water pressure in the shower, staff helped us add map points of sites with maps.me
The sewer gas/smell in our room was overwhelming and the staff acted like that was surprising (it was obviously a regular/normal occurrence). Only one faucet at our sink worked and it was very cold water - to wash your face you would have to wait to heat up the shower instead of using the sink. The soap by the sink went missing for 24 hours and we had to request it back. The wifi was great in the dining room but dodgy in our room. Twice when we were out we came back to find our door unlocked and wide open exposing our laptops and video camera even though we had locked the room before we left. If they unlocked it to clean/air it out, it should have been relocked afterwards. The biggest thing that bothered us was that the staff acted like helping us with procuring taxis was an unreasonable request. The night before we left, we asked for help in getting a taxi to the train station, they claimed that they didn't have any numbers for taxis and couldn't help us. On the morning of our departure, the staff told us to walk to the hospital (10m) with our luggage because taxis congregate there. On our way to do that - what choice did we have? - a proprietor from a different ryad, saw our difficulty and offered to phone a taxi for us. It was so simple and straight forward for him to do that and we didn't even stay in his establishment! That really rubbed us the wrong way - why make things difficult for your guests?

Verified reviewThe riad was really beautiful! The room was quite modern with an own bathroom. The location was good, on the edge of the medina. It‘s an around 10 minutes walk to the center of the Medina. You have to walk through some side streets where we didn‘t want to spend too much time, but just walking through them was alright. The hosts of the riad were really nice, friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really good! We enjoyed our time at the riad and would definitely recommend it!

Verified reviewThe information about this Riad are fake, the services written here are FALSE and the pictures are not realistic: 1) There is NO PARKING, the Riad is inside small roads, you cannot get there by car and have to walk 10/15 mins from the closest parking spot. Here on booking they say they have a parking and I booked here exactly for this reason, turn out they have NO PARKING! Please remove this from the services you offer because you do not offer parking! ->> There is "PARKING ON SITE" written on your booking description, you better write real things here! 2) the breakfast is very average and the jam and butter portions are smaller than a coffee cup (for 2 people). Nothing like the picture they show here, no fresh fruit, we asked some more jam and butter and they later pointed out that we did not pay for it -was never asked. Adding picture 3) there is NO POOL! What they have is a 1mt for 1mt tub full of unbathable cold dirty water. But still they say they do! 4) I booked a “superior double bedroom”, but no room is superior. They are all the same. In the services is written “pool view” and “private pool”, but there is no pool. Still you pay more than for a Riad with no pool. This is really a lie and you know you are telling fake things to people! The Riad is very small, far from the center (>30mins walking), the guys from the staff are nice but the girl is rude and uncaring, in the streets there is loud noises and motorbikes passing by all night long, not quiet, we slept really little. I’ve red the reviews here saying things that are totally false, clearly these are fake reviews and a false good rating, and they are selling services they don’t give at all. Don’t go here, spend your money on a place that gives you what you pay for!
how mean of you, all your remarks are false, it is written on Booking that the parking is public and not private, know that we do not pay anyone to put good comments these are real comments, for breakfast you are ok with only one person to complain you wanted coffee, tea, jam, bread in addition we gave them to you with pleasure, not all the rooms are the same have you visited the rooms to see, the riad simply did not please you, next time increase your budget and sleep in a palace I stop now because it is not worth me going further riad bab lakhmiss

Verified reviewThis was my second time there and I can confirm that I made an excellent choice. *Location perfect, in the heart of the medina where everything can be reached by foot in a few minutes. * Super abundant breakfast, 4 of us never managed to finish the excellent food served to us, every day with different specialities * The room is cleaned and tidied every day! *THE STAFF is Amazing!!! Wijdane, the lady who works there She always has a smile on her face and is very sweet and caring. I will miss our morning hug 😍. Abdel recognized me after a year, it was like finding an old friend. He is always willing to help you with anything and full of great advices. Last but not least, Frank is full of energy and he always spreads good vibes!! What to say more… I might comeback for the third time 🤪

Verified reviewEveryone was very polite and we liked the breakfast. The room was clean and comfortable. The interior design was pretty.
The pool is rather a decoration than a facility (it is located in the hall and it’s quite dirty). So it’s not a private pool as the description says.
