How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewHamza and Syed were both incredibly friendly and accommodating. Our room was beautiful and breakfast on the rooftop was also wonderful.
Taxis are unable to reach the property so they drop off / collect a few minutes walk away. If we had not asked for the Riad to help with transport I’m not sure we would have found ir.

Verified reviewIsabelle was an amazing host. Everything was clean, and she was always available to assist in helping us navigate Marrakech. Hamza always took good care of us, and the two women who kept the place spotless were always ready to help out if needed (I apologize, and I'm embarrassed, for not remembering names!). Highly recommend using their hotel sponsored taxi service from the airport if you are unfamiliar with Marrakech. By day 2, we were able to find our way to the main square easily. Also, by all means, take them up on their meal service for at least one meal - the cooking was fantastic! We honestly felt like we were leaving family when we left. We hope to visit sometime again! Thank you so very much!

Verified reviewIsobel was an amazing host and really went out of her way to ensure we were well looked after. Book a meal at the Rhiad - the food surpasses anything locally provided! The breakfast was amazing and having climbed Mount Toubkal at the beginning of the week it was a fantastic place to recover. The Hammam was incredible and the massages were lovely. The staff were all so friendly. Cant recommend this beautiful oasis highly enough!

Verified reviewIf you'll ever go to Marrakech, Riad Hizad is the right place to stay. I don't want to focus on the classical advantages that a hotel can have, like its perfect position in the center and the staff that was very welcoming.

Verified reviewWe loved everything about our stay at Riad Hizad. The Riad is really beautiful and Isabelle, Said, Sana and all the staff were wonderful. We cannot fault a single thing. We had an amazing dinner on our arrival night at the Riad and breakfast every day on the roof terrace which was varied and plentiful. The pool was a welcome escape to cool down in the afternoon! All the staff were really accommodating with helping us with tuk tuks, taxis, restaurant recommendations, anything we needed. We also really enjoyed the Hammam spa and massage. The room was clean and had everything we needed, bottled water every day, bath robes, toiletries. The location was also really great, close enough to the busy sooks and main square but far enough away that night times were quiet. Thank you so much for a really amazing stay!

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at Riad Hizad—it was a peaceful oasis right in the heart of the Medina. The riad is beautifully designed, combining traditional Moroccan touches with modern comfort. The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to help with anything we needed. We especially loved relaxing on the rooftop terrace and enjoying the quiet atmosphere after a day of exploring Marrakech. This place felt like a home away from home—highly recommended!

the room on the first floor is a little dark and noisy. I would therefore recommend rooms on the 2nd floor.

Verified reviewBeautiful room and exquisitely appointed. We particularly loved the double bathroom, shower and soaking tub. Breakfast on the terrace was also perfect. The entire Riad is lovely, and everyone was thoughtful and helpful. By far the best Riad we enjoyed in Marrakech! Highly recommended.
The bed was a little lumpy. Otherwise excellent: large, nice heavy comforter and great pillow selection.
We thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to receive you at riad Hizad and to help you during your travel in Marrocco.

Verified reviewRoof top pool was amazing, staff so friendly and welcoming, helpful. Isobelle arranged a private return taxi for us to Agafay which worked wonderfully. Location is 10 min walking distance to medina square, and right off the souks so a nice oasis to the bustling life below. Near some local shops and restaurants - very cheap to eat and also for water etc. All the staff went above and beyond for us and truly cannot fault them. They were kind, organised and did everything they could do for us to enjoy our stay. They also serve beer which for us was a big perk, to enjoy by the poolside in the afternoon
Although the riad was close to the main square, it was through some narrow streets only accessible by walking through souks. Which is fine, but after ~9:30pm we found out the main exit closes and we ended up asking a local to help us find the route, which he demanded a tip. In general, can be a bit unnerving when clearly a tourist. We were happy to be back. Day time is fine and safe. I think a lot of riads are in the narrow medina streets, but as you can’t get a taxi there directly you may get dropped and then find yourself walking through the same. We made sure we left the restaurant by 9pm the next night so we didn’t encounter the same.
Tanks for your review. It was a pleasure to receive you to Riad Hizad. We try our best for all of our guests. I need to clarify something on your review. There is NO a main street closed from the big square to the riad ...except one part of the souk the night but you don t have to use it to come back home. We explain to all of our guests to ignore the fake guids, main problem in the medina. we can organise tuc tuc, taxis for the guests because of course like in all médina the taxis cannot drop you in front of the riad. This is the live inside medina, small streets,no cars... Isabelle

Verified reviewThis is such a beautiful riad in a quieter part of the Medina but with a 5 minute walk you are in the middle of everything. It is very convenient and relaxing. Sayed told us the first day ‘this is your home’ — I wish my home was this beautiful! But they really mean it— you feel very comfortable there from the very beginning.
It is perfect. We would not change anything.

They were so lovely, helpful and attentive. The room was gorgeous and so clean. The roof terrace was such a lovely little escape after a busy day exploring the busy and vibrant area. It was an oasis and a sun trap in the afternoon which was beautiful. We had a yummy breakfast served every morning on the terrace including, French toast, local breads, fruit etc Riad Hizad is brilliantly located and walking distance to some amazing places to eat drink and explore We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here. And if and when we come back to Marrakech, we know exactly where we’ll be staying again!
