How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRiad La Bigarade, was a lovely place to stay. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Our room was very cosy and the bed comfortable. The Riad provided a map with all the major sites on it. The location was fantastic right in the heart of the Medina.
It met all our expectations

Verified reviewLovely Riad, excellent rooms and breakfast was very good too. A couple of sun loungers on the top floor would have been nice as the 2 reclining chairs were a bit basic.

Strong sewer smell in the bathroom that permeates into bedroom. I think it’s function of old sewer system.

Verified reviewFirst we were welcomed in this beautiful Riad with a cup of Moroccan tea and delicious pastries. They took time to talk with us about their history and places to visit in Marrakech. The rooms were very nice, modern yet and spacious. The breakfast was very copious and delicious. The Riad was in a great location and whether it was early morning or late at night we always felt safe.

Verified reviewReally nice and helpful staff. The Riad inside is stylish and relaxing, the rooftop terrace is very nice.
It is a personal thing, but I did not like the dirty narrow streets leading to the road. There was no real window on the room, only a wooden door facing to the narrow street - it is not easy to let some fresh air in. Breakfast was simple, with lots of sugar (pancakes, other cakes, honey and jam), but served with care.

Verified reviewThe Riad is in a fantastic location. The staff are extremely helpful and offer a great service, especially Fahad and Zohia. It was my wife's birthday and they got a cake and balloons for her and sang her happy birthday! Highly recommended!
All was great.

Verified reviewReally enjoyed my time here! Google maps led me astray and they did an amazing job of helping me find our accommodation. They put us in a great room, were incredibly hospitable the whole time and would definitely be the first place I'd come back to in Marrakesh.

Verified reviewThe location of the riad is great. Delicious food - if you order a meal in the riad, it will be very, very tasty. The young man working reception/guardien is very kind & helpful.
The design of the riad isn't very exciting. We privatized this riad for our entire group and they were disappointed that it didn't look more "authentic" with Moroccan rugs, pompom blankets, lanters, etc. There is so much opportunity with such a great location. The house itself is very nice but the decor could be better, as this is what foreigners want to see when visiting a riad in the medina. Also, there was a staff member smoking all day/night inside the house which kept most of our guests up coughing all through the night. On the last night, the owner of the riad presented one of our clients with a bill for all the food consumed by the guest (which is always paid by the organizer, not the clients) and it worried them. Overall, I just don't feel like I can recommend the place and definitely would not book it again.
Hello Ms Jade I thank you for your comment and sorry for not being able to satisfy you despite all the effort we have made to welcome you Yours sincerely Malika

Verified reviewOpulent and comfortable on the whole. Nice roof terrace with shade and sun and comfortable chairs. However the best thing about the property was one of the staff called Dress who couldn’t have done more.
My room had a wooden door with 3-4 centimetres gaps at most edges. When people came into the Riad, it was as if they were in my room. It wasn’t so bad for me as I was on my own but, if you are looking for privacy, this is not the room for you! (My son had another room with a properly closing door.) I found the location of the property quite scary. It is down a series of dark, quite smelly, narrow passages in the medina area. I kept telling my son, ‘It can’t be down here’ but it was!
Hello, Ms. Suzanne. Personally, I'm sorry I couldn't satisfy you. Driss did not explain to you well how to open the doors, because they are very old doors. They open completely or through small doors. the Riad is 200 m square The rooms 24 to 25 m square with ports and individual keys and all customers are free to do what they want in their Rooms Thank you for your compression!
