We had only one night in Marakesh and were very tired at this point. We didn't like Marakesh but maybe we were just too tired at this point and fed up with all the hassling on the street. The riad was a bit confusing finding our way around. The staff were very nice and helpful and booked us a taxi to the airport.

First of all the riad is beautiful, clean and positioned perfectly. You're very close to the core Medina and its souks but also close by a route where cars can pass by, good for taxis and transfer. The staff at the riad went above and beyond to support us in every possible way. We also had dinner at the riad and it was exceptional! Will be back for sure

    Nothing!

In a central location near Cafe Arabe & Secret Garden area. Beautiful place, inner courtyard and small shaded areas dotted about. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brought on a big tray laden with fresh fruit and bread, coffee, cocoa powder with hot milk, mint tea, almond cake and omelette! We had a family room with 2 rooms connected by the bathroom. Good shower with nice toiletries and big fluffy towels. Good air con - we loved it!

The walls were a bit thin, so by 8am we could hear the others eating their breakfast and planning their days. Normally, I wouldn't have noticed, but I only did this time because I think my husband slept until noon the first morning. The other small suggestion I have (only because a riad in Fez did it and I thought it was brilliant) was to allow for a small fridge or some kind of cooling station for bottled water. It hit well over 100* while we were there and would have been nice to have cold water to start the days.

The staff was beyond amazing. When we arrived after many hours in the car, my husband was sick (perhaps he accidentally drank unbottled water a day or so before). The staff was caring and considerate, ensuring that we had everything we needed, that he could rest undisturbed. Their ability to help me navigate my way around and fantastic mapping skills were amazing. We were extremely grateful for the care with which they prepared breakfast, especially for my husband. The location was perfect. I would absolutely stay here again and send huge thanks to Hassan (and the other guy with the super cool hair whose name I forgot to ask but bought us bananas!)

Maybe it would be nice if the street that leads you to the Riad was a bit more cared for.

The Riad is very well located and the staff is really nice. The manager helped us to change the room that we had orginally booked in the most kind way. The rooms in the second floor are much bright! The terrace is amazing. Very good place to stay! Thank you!

A magical stay at Riad Le Coq Berbère! Nestled on a charming and peaceful road in the heart of Marrakesh, this riad is a true gem. The location is ideal—close enough to the bustling souks and main attractions, yet quiet enough to relax and unwind. The riad itself is beautifully decorated, clean, and full of character. The staff were absolutely wonderful—warm, attentive, and thoughtful. They even surprised me with a birthday cake, which made my stay even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, high-quality Moroccan experience.

The staff were so nice and helpful! Special thanks to Hassan for greeting me on my arrival and making me feel comfortable - and also to the man (didn’t get his name) with the berbère necklace! The beautiful women who made breakfast and cleaned the room. Grateful to everyone who works here! My room was comfortable and quiet on the terrace. Mishou the cat kept me company while I read my book❤️ 10/10, I hope to come back again one day. Shukran!

Our room had a very large balcony with a sofa which really allowed us to spread out. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was quirky and the staff were very good. Breakfast was very good. The location is very good-in the Medina but only a five minute walk to an area to get dropped off by a car or grab a taxi.

Excellent location, staff went out of the way to help providing advise, information and booking taxis and helping us with our luggage. The Riad has lots of out door shaded and tucked away areas so there always was some where to sit or lie in the sun. I would definitely recommend the tranquil place away from the busy streets of Marrakesh.

I really loved my stay here - the location was good (very central in the medina but easy to find), the staff very friendly and extremely helpful, the rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was good and the riad itself is just also very pretty. I always do a lot of comparing before I book and I was definitely happy with my choice. I also think it is good value for money

We had an amazing time, and the staff were so friendly, especially Abdul, who made our stay exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he catered for everything we needed. I would definitely stay and book again. Very clean and comfortable. One of my friends found the pillows too hard but was happy enough, not to mention them. I would recommend the app maps.me (it gives you walking routes to your location) it works with no data to locations anywhere. We found main areas OK during the day. However, all the streets in the souk look the same at night when all the shops are closed. Without this app, you can wander around aimlessly looking for the riad.

What a lovely Riad, one of the nicest I have stayed in Marrakech! The staff were really welcoming and the room and facilities were wonderful. Proper Moroccan breakfast, eggs, fresh fruit, absolutely delicious! We also had a Hamman experience which was exceptional. The beds were comfy. Lovely bedding, towels and toiletries provided and the only Riad I have stayed where they provide a kettle! Sadly it was really rainy when we visited so didnt get to experience the roof terrace, but ... next time! Thank you Riad Coq Berbere for a lovely stay!

The only thing that could have been better was to have stayed longer!

This is a delightful place to stay. The building is wonderful and breakfast on the terrace was a joy, even in February. Most important is that the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The Director, Bachir is charming and goes out of his way to help giving advice on where to go and what to see, organising taxis and generaly making us wecome and comfortable. Next time we visit Marrakech we wll certainly stay at Riad Le Coq Berbère

Fabulous riad in the heart of the medina
    • Leisure trip

The bed was very hard and the shower didn't always provide hot water. That said, I was always provided with a hot shower at the end of the day, just not as often as us Westerners like. As for the bed, yes, it was hard but after a full day of sightseeing, it really didn't matter. Aside from those two things, I really couldn't fault the place...it was just superb. The medina/markets are very busy with people but also the smog from motorbikes wasn't particularly nice. I'd strongly recommend a face covering of some kind so you're not breathing in the toxic fumes.

What a fantastic riad to stay in. Authentic, rustic, we could not have chosen a nicer hotel to stay in for our first (and short) visit to Marrakesh. Location was excellent...right in the heart of the medina, yet really quiet. The room itself was of a good size with ample storage for your suitcase and 2 wardrobes for clothes. The bathroom included a bidet and the best towels are comparable to that of a 5 star establishment. The hospitality provided by the staff was exceptional and they really went above and beyond, out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortable. It was an easy 20-30min walk to almost anywhere including several gardens, palaces and ideal for shopping at the markets as it's right on your doorstep. If you want a beer, there is a bar called S-bar located about 30 minutes walk from the hotel. The rooftop terrace was a lovely spot to relax, with comfortable seating in the shade, cool and quiet. Reverse cycle (split system) air conditioning is provided in each room, ideal for those hot summer days and cooler winter evenings.

The staff at the riad was very very welcoming and super professional – they made us feel right at home! The riad is very conveniently located in the medina so you don't have to walk miles with your suitcases to get to it. The rooms are small but cute; the whole property is very clean. All the people who work there are extremely polite and kind. We had dinner 'in' one evening, looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the medina. The food was absolutely excellent (one of the best meals in Marrakech) and sitting next to the fireplace was an absolute treat. Catching the sunset sitting in the terrace was also wonderful. The breakfasts are abundant and generous. 5/5 stars overall!
