How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had only one night in Marakesh and were very tired at this point. We didn't like Marakesh but maybe we were just too tired at this point and fed up with all the hassling on the street. The riad was a bit confusing finding our way around. The staff were very nice and helpful and booked us a taxi to the airport.

Verified reviewFirst of all the riad is beautiful, clean and positioned perfectly. You're very close to the core Medina and its souks but also close by a route where cars can pass by, good for taxis and transfer. The staff at the riad went above and beyond to support us in every possible way. We also had dinner at the riad and it was exceptional! Will be back for sure

Verified reviewIn a central location near Cafe Arabe & Secret Garden area. Beautiful place, inner courtyard and small shaded areas dotted about. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was brought on a big tray laden with fresh fruit and bread, coffee, cocoa powder with hot milk, mint tea, almond cake and omelette! We had a family room with 2 rooms connected by the bathroom. Good shower with nice toiletries and big fluffy towels. Good air con - we loved it!
Nothing!

Verified reviewThe staff was beyond amazing. When we arrived after many hours in the car, my husband was sick (perhaps he accidentally drank unbottled water a day or so before). The staff was caring and considerate, ensuring that we had everything we needed, that he could rest undisturbed. Their ability to help me navigate my way around and fantastic mapping skills were amazing. We were extremely grateful for the care with which they prepared breakfast, especially for my husband. The location was perfect. I would absolutely stay here again and send huge thanks to Hassan (and the other guy with the super cool hair whose name I forgot to ask but bought us bananas!)
The walls were a bit thin, so by 8am we could hear the others eating their breakfast and planning their days. Normally, I wouldn't have noticed, but I only did this time because I think my husband slept until noon the first morning. The other small suggestion I have (only because a riad in Fez did it and I thought it was brilliant) was to allow for a small fridge or some kind of cooling station for bottled water. It hit well over 100* while we were there and would have been nice to have cold water to start the days.

Verified reviewThe Riad is very well located and the staff is really nice. The manager helped us to change the room that we had orginally booked in the most kind way. The rooms in the second floor are much bright! The terrace is amazing. Very good place to stay! Thank you!
Maybe it would be nice if the street that leads you to the Riad was a bit more cared for.

Verified reviewA magical stay at Riad Le Coq Berbère! Nestled on a charming and peaceful road in the heart of Marrakesh, this riad is a true gem. The location is ideal—close enough to the bustling souks and main attractions, yet quiet enough to relax and unwind. The riad itself is beautifully decorated, clean, and full of character. The staff were absolutely wonderful—warm, attentive, and thoughtful. They even surprised me with a birthday cake, which made my stay even more special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, high-quality Moroccan experience.

Verified reviewThe staff were so nice and helpful! Special thanks to Hassan for greeting me on my arrival and making me feel comfortable - and also to the man (didn’t get his name) with the berbère necklace! The beautiful women who made breakfast and cleaned the room. Grateful to everyone who works here! My room was comfortable and quiet on the terrace. Mishou the cat kept me company while I read my book❤️ 10/10, I hope to come back again one day. Shukran!

Verified reviewOur room had a very large balcony with a sofa which really allowed us to spread out. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was quirky and the staff were very good. Breakfast was very good. The location is very good-in the Medina but only a five minute walk to an area to get dropped off by a car or grab a taxi.

Verified reviewExcellent location, staff went out of the way to help providing advise, information and booking taxis and helping us with our luggage. The Riad has lots of out door shaded and tucked away areas so there always was some where to sit or lie in the sun. I would definitely recommend the tranquil place away from the busy streets of Marrakesh.

Verified reviewI really loved my stay here - the location was good (very central in the medina but easy to find), the staff very friendly and extremely helpful, the rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was good and the riad itself is just also very pretty. I always do a lot of comparing before I book and I was definitely happy with my choice. I also think it is good value for money

Verified reviewWe had an amazing time, and the staff were so friendly, especially Abdul, who made our stay exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he catered for everything we needed. I would definitely stay and book again. Very clean and comfortable. One of my friends found the pillows too hard but was happy enough, not to mention them. I would recommend the app maps.me (it gives you walking routes to your location) it works with no data to locations anywhere. We found main areas OK during the day. However, all the streets in the souk look the same at night when all the shops are closed. Without this app, you can wander around aimlessly looking for the riad.

Verified reviewWhat a lovely Riad, one of the nicest I have stayed in Marrakech! The staff were really welcoming and the room and facilities were wonderful. Proper Moroccan breakfast, eggs, fresh fruit, absolutely delicious! We also had a Hamman experience which was exceptional. The beds were comfy. Lovely bedding, towels and toiletries provided and the only Riad I have stayed where they provide a kettle! Sadly it was really rainy when we visited so didnt get to experience the roof terrace, but ... next time! Thank you Riad Coq Berbere for a lovely stay!
Nothing, it was all amazing!

A few more plug sockets would be useful.

Verified reviewThis is a delightful place to stay. The building is wonderful and breakfast on the terrace was a joy, even in February. Most important is that the staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. The Director, Bachir is charming and goes out of his way to help giving advice on where to go and what to see, organising taxis and generaly making us wecome and comfortable. Next time we visit Marrakech we wll certainly stay at Riad Le Coq Berbère
The only thing that could have been better was to have stayed longer!
