How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGreat location as it is within the medina. Amazing rooftop view of the city. This was by far the best breakfast that we had in any of our accommodations and we stayed in 6 different places in and around Morocco for this trip. We even had our laundry done for a small fee.

Verified reviewThe riad is very close to the Bab Bou Jeloud (the blue gate). It's clean, and has an amazing courtyard, where they serve an AMAZING breakfast: big quantity and quality (different kinds of bread, orange juice, marmalade, honey, butter, yogurt, coffee, tea...). The terrace is quiet and with an amazing view. But the special point is the staff: they collect you to find the riad easily, the cleaning lady is very nice, even if she doesn't speak English, and the owner is incredible: super friendly, detail-oriented, and a good person. Super recommended!
Everything was good. Thanks for having us!

Verified reviewWe were overwhelmed with the hospitality of the host Salah who treated us like family. He arranged everything we asked him in advance from the airport transfers to a tour guide as well as gave us a personal tour of the medina for our first day orientation as well as take us to the gate of the medina. He is also accessible at anytime by WhatsApp. On our last day he also accompanied us to do our last minute shopping and introduced us to his family. He also accommodated other requests which we appreciated. The room is comfortable with tv, heater/aircon, shower and toilet and the living room was big enough for all the guests. The terrace is also lovely when it is not raining. Breakfast was also lovely. Most of all, Salah was there to take us to our airport transfer at 2am and personally say goodbye. We highly recommend that you stay here when you are in Fez.

Verified reviewThe most unique thing about this Riad is the hospitality of the hosts - Mr. Salah took really good care of us. He met us when we arrived (and got a bit lost in the Medina streets), showed us around the area, gave great recommendations on the local restaurants, helped us get through some unexpected last minute changes and offered his support throughout. Thank you so much for your amazing kindness! The riad is located very close to the Blue gates so it's quite easy to move around. The room was cozy with comfortable bed, there's also a big rooftop terrace where you can enjoy beautiful views of the Medina. Totally recommended!

Verified reviewBreakfast was timely and plentiful with many options. Location provided quick easy access to shops, markets, ATM, and sights in a bustling Medina, yet just enough distance to provide peace and quiet inside the riad. Rooftop had comfortable enclosed seating area, and provided great views. Owner and on-site hosts responded very quickly and helpfully to every inquiry; they were very friendly and pleasant. Guests should know there are 3 levels in this riad, plus the rooftop. Living room, dining area and largest ensuite bedroom are on second level, w 2 ensuite bedrooms on 3rd. Kitchen and small reception area are on lower level. Stairs are a little steep. Personally, I loved running up and down the stairs, but may be challenging for some.

Verified reviewGreat host - wish him the best. Location in the heart of medina but not in the heat of its central streets. Good room with comfortable bed and heater.
Wish there was fresh orange juice in the morning instead of orangina (or smth similar)

Verified reviewWhat you have for the price is quite good. The riad is well located and the room are sufficiently clean. The staff is open to help and support you. The room is big enough and the place even not being big result quiet.
Unfortunately our room was smelling very bad due to the sewer. After we informed the staff the used a product to reduce the smell that unfortunately didn't change the situation. The brekfast could be improved but in the same time considering what you pay in one of the most touristic city of Marocco is ok. The main hall of the riad does not make you the feeling to be in a real riad but more in a traditional house due to the size, lack of water and garden.

Verified reviewWe where the only ones staying their at the time so we felt like we had the whole place to our selves. It was in a central location, not to far from the blue gate and close to most attractions.
It would be a little challenging to find it on your own or with out a GPS. So would definitely recommend taxi pic up and meeting the staff at the blue gate.

Verified review- Good and safe location (10min from blue gate by walk) - Cleaning every day - For Morrocan standards the breakfast is above average (I would still suggest to add some vegetable, fruits, less sweet/sugar stuff in general) - This riad is comparing to others actually run professionally by a good manager Salah, he was helpful thorough our stay - I think this riad is very close to 4* hotels, you won't find a better value for that money in Fes Medina
- Nothing, maybe lack of natural light but that's the case with every riad
