Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThis is not the hotels fault, but there were neighbours who played loud music every night right next to our windows which was very annoying. Bring earplugs just in case!
Beautiful old building, staff were super friendly and told us to treat hotel like our own home. Pool was small but perfect size for us and we almost always had it to ourselves. Room was absolutely amazing, Deluxe Sultan suite. Huge room with beautiful decor, our own private terrace and short cut to the pool.

AustraliaIssues getting in or getting phone calls come through. The host communication prior to getting there to have someone open the door can improve, we had issues and witnessed how other people did too. Distance to the city not too bad but it isn't close. Good value for money though !
Staff keen to help though language can be a barrier if you don't speak French. A bit difficult to have access to the property (to get them to open the door but once you have the keys, all is much different. if you are arriving after 6:00 PM, it may be more difficult to have staff ready to come to the door. Otherwise, good breakfast and helpful staff.

IrelandCould have been cleaner. The pool was not available, despite being advertised as open. The host was drunk when we payed our bill, he could barely talk, which, with the language barrier was very awkward and unpleasant

If you think about morroccan style - this is it. Place like you can imagine - old town/medina, you can feel that characteristic climate.

SpainIt is wonderful for a night or two, but it would not be my choice for a long stay. I missed doors giving privacy within the room or the light coming into through the windows But it was worth it for a night
To stay for a night in a Riad. It is an experience worth it to live. The kids (and us) enjoyed exploring the riad, and the views are amazing. And I loved the firmness of the mattress.

United StatesWe did not receive the unit we reserved, which was advertised as having 2 double beds and many additional single beds. Instead, our room only had one double bed, which was not ideal for our group. The room was dark and a bit dingy, although mostly clean. Also, there was no flexibility for a late check out although this was also advertised. I was incredibly sick with a 103 degree fever and food poisoning and was not allowed to stay even an hour late in the room, nor were we offered any help or hospitality during this time. We tried walking to a hospital, which was closed. We ended up having to wait at a McDonald’s until our evening flight, despite seeing online there was a room available at the riad that u would have gladly paid for.
The property is very large and intricate. The manager or owner on duty did ensure my friend got to the train station early in the morning when departing, and that was very kind.

MexicoThe guy in charge was drunk when i arrived at midnight so the driver had to call for him to open the door, he showed me my room but the toilet was dirty with pee all over it, next day he was polite enough to install a SIM card for me and walk with me to get a charger and its helpful that he speaks Spanish, but all the time he was making innapropiate comments if we could be together that night and trying to touch my back, and telling me about his intimate life with his wife, he got very drunk again that night with some people arguing until 6 am.The reason why I booked 2 nights in Rabat was to be well rested for the rest of my trip after flying across the world but I couldn't sleep, I also asked him early on for information of how I could get to essaouira and he told me there where many buses and there wouldn't be a problem.Next day he asked a taxi for me but it took me to the train station where all the tickets where sold and I ended up loosing my reservation in Essaouira and I was stranded and delayed. This was the only experience like this, the rest of the Moroccan men that were providing services were very respectful and helpful.
I liked the ancient riad and spacious rooms and the cleaning ladies are very nice.

GermanyThis was one of the most beautiful stays we had on our trip through morocco, but also the most expensive one for us because it is hard to find low budget stays in Rabat or Salé. We chose this stay in Salé because in Rabat it was even more difficult to find one. The good thing is that Salé and Rabat have a public transport system with which you can easily travel to Rabat. The tram station is in a range of 10min of walking from the stay. You can buy tickets at a ticket machine at the station. You can park your car at a public parking lot just 300m of walking range to the stay. A guy watches the cars at night and collects sth around 20/30 dirhams per night. The room were you have breakfast is really stunning! Also there is plenty of space with some teracces to spend your time. The room was nice, the bathroom is only separated by a curtain, but that was totally ok with us. We can recommend staying here.
