I had a wonderful stay at this Riad in Morocco, thanks in large part to the incredible hospitality of Hakim and Akram. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. When I had trouble with my internet connection, they kindly brought the router closer to my room so I could work without interruption. They even helped me navigate a stressful situation when my bank card was swallowed by an ATM, personally assisting me in retrieving cash so I wouldn’t be stranded. On top of that, they often brought me tea for free and kept me company, making me feel truly welcome. The Riad itself is excellent, and the warmth of the staff made it even better. One small suggestion would be to make the booking process more transparent by showing guests the exact room they will be staying in when they pay, so there are no surprises upon arrival. Overall, a heartfelt thank you to Hakim and Akram for their kindness and genuine hospitality, they truly made my Moroccan experience special.

Our stay at this riad was truly special — a peaceful oasis tucked away in the heart of Marrakech’s buzzing medina. The space itself is beautiful, with traditional Moroccan details, calm lighting, and a rooftop that feels like a secret escape above the city. But what made our experience unforgettable was Akram. From the moment we arrived, he took care of everything — arranging transport, recommending hidden local spots, and always checking in with a warm smile. His kindness felt genuine, and just when we thought it couldn’t get better, he surprised us with thoughtful souvenirs so we could always remember our time there. Highlights: – Beautiful interior and peaceful atmosphere – Rooftop breakfast with local flavors – Central location, yet quiet and relaxing – Akram’s exceptional hospitality and attention to detail If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep — if you want to feel truly welcomed and seen — this riad (and Akram!) is the right choice

We felt like home the few days we stayed at Riad Mayan. The staff, to the service, to the food, everything was above standard. We would want to thank Akram for his amazing service. He was very welcoming and hospitable. Hakim as well as the other staff members. Anyone staying at this Riad should definitely try the spa. We would highly recommend Riad Mayan to our family and friends visiting Morocco.

We had a wonderful stay at this riad! Our host, Akarm, was incredibly hospitable and welcoming, he went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel at home, greeting us with tea and a tour of the beautiful facilities. Akarm provided excellent recommendations for exploring the Marrakech, served us a delicious breakfast, and even offered to arrange a romantic dinner for my partner and me. His attention to detail and genuine care truly made our experience special. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable retreat. Rest assured, you’re in great hands with Akarm!

Beautiful property. Large mirrors. Beautiful baths and showers. The staff are super welcoming from the cleaning ladies to Mustapha and Hakeem…thank you so so so much for a wonderful stay! My favorite thing was the staff- my partner and I sustained an injury after an accident and went above and beyond. They helped him up the stairs, helped us locate the riad and even helped us to our next riad after we couldn’t book an extra day there. The photos are definitely Instagram worthy! They offer Moroccan tea & mint (insane) and expresso too within! Location is super central, everything is always a couple mins walking distance to see the souks, delivery was super easy too. Riads are generally tricky to find wherever you are so text the host to help guide you. You won’t have to worry because Google Maps will help you get there accurately.

Advantage or disadvantage? The riad is on the edge of the medina.

We found a wonderful retreat in the middle of hot and lively Marrakesh. Water, greenery, birdsong, a wonderful host who made our wishes come true. His cooking class and the tajine we made together were fantastic. Breakfast on the roof terrace with a view of the atlas is unforgettable.

I highly recommend the Riad Mayan & Spa. The location of the riad is excellent – many attractions can be explored on foot. We really appreciated being able to retreat from the bustling streets into the peaceful riad, where we could relax in our beautiful room, the courtyard, or on the terrace. Mustafa and the entire team are very kind-hearted people, and we felt very welcome. The freshly prepared breakfast on the terrace was always delicious and gave us the energy we needed for the day. We highly recommend having dinner at the riad as well – Mustafa cooked an incredibly tasty and healthy meal for us. Mustafa also organized a tour to the Ourika Valley for us, and everything went smoothly; we only had to express our wishes. If we return to Marrakech, we will definitely stay at Riad Mayan & Spa again and can wholeheartedly recommend this place.

There was nothing not to like about the property. Mustapha reminded us during many interactions that if we needed anything at all then to contact him which we did and no request was too much to ask.

I stayed at the Riad Mayan & Spa for 5 days with my boyfriend. We could not be happier with the service we received. We had the warmest welcome with complimentary tea and delicious homemade biscuits from the lovely riad manager Mustapha who made us feel instantly at home. The room was grande and beautiful, bed was comfortable and the room had air conditioning which was easy to use. The whole place was beautifully decorated and tranquil, the perfect peaceful contrast to the hustle and bustle of the medina. We loved cooling off in the pool every day and relaxing on the beautiful terrace in the evenings. We watched the sun rise in the morning on the rooftop and the breakfast was delicious and all homemade. A huge thank you to Mustapha and Hakim who are absolute professionals in their field and felt like friends within little time of being there and thank you to the lovely ladies who may not have spoken the same language as us but who’s service was incredible and who’s energy was warm and kind. We would love to visit again.

My room was stunning and the windows and view into the riad was soooo breathtaking, the plants the decor and the sound of the birds it’s like a mini paradise. The breakfast was delicious and very filling great start to a beautiful day and the staff who made it were so lovely. I enjoyed my stay sooooo much I extended my stay and cannot wait to visit again. Nothing. It was perfect. I’ve attached some photos we took of the riad! We will definitely stay here if we return to Marrakesh. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We enjoyed three nights at the Riad Mayan & Spa. When we arrived, Mustaffa met us on the main road, and showed us to the riad which is located down a little side alley. Once inside, the riad felt like an oasis from the busy hustle and bustle of the souks. Moustaffa organised a birthday cake from a local patisserie, as we were celebrating a birthday, and greeted us in the main courtyard with the cake, mint tea and traditional biscuits - a really memorable way to celebrate and start the holiday! The riad itself is traditional with modern elements. The room was large and decorated in a traditional riad style, with modern fittings such as a smart TV and newly fitted bathroom. The courtyard features a centre piece swimming pool. Although small, we enjoyed using it to cool off in the afternoon, and was suprised at the depth! A great feature to the riad! Our favourite part of the riad was the roof terrace. With views overlooking the Atlas Mountains, and the Medina, the terrace is a stunning place to enjoy the home cooked breakfast and relax at sunset. We enjoyed the homemade breakfast each day, served on the terrace. Mint tea, orange juice, coffee, msemen (traditional Moroccan pancakes) and omelette - it was the perfect start to the day. Moustaffa is a brilliant chef in addition to host! Aside from the riad itself, the staff were so hospitable and friendly. We enjoyed speaking to Hakim about Marrakesh and learning about the Berber language. Hakim was also very attentive - helping with anything we needed. Mustaffa was always willing to help out - organising transfers, offering mint tea, arranging a hammam, or storing luggage on our final day - nothing was too big or too small! Mayan also offers a spa inside the riad itself. On the terrace there is a specially designed hammam and massage room. It was very relaxing! The lady that provided the spa was fantastic - a very personalised experience! We couldn’t recommend Riad Mayan & Spa more highly.

Everything was great and Mustafa make us feel like home. The Riad is beautiful and even though you are not at the main square of the Medina, you are walking distance to everywhere, and in a very calm area. The food that Mustafa prepare us was amazing, we are very grateful for the days we spent there.

There is just nothing to complain about. Truly an outstanding place – from the atmosphere to the service, every detail is perfect. I would return in a heartbeat!

Review: 10/10 – An Absolute Hidden Gem in Marrakech! An exceptionally beautiful, newly opened riad in the heart of the Medina – luxurious, stylish, and impressive in every way! The furnishings are high-quality, everything is brand new, spotless, well-maintained, and incredibly clean. Despite being in the center, it is wonderfully quiet – the atmosphere is instantly calming. The small pool is refreshing, and the overall ambiance is peaceful and private. The riad has only four apartments, cleverly arranged so that you often feel like you have the entire place to yourself – perfect for relaxation and privacy. The rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. And best of all: the riad looks exactly like the pictures – in fact, it’s even more beautiful in real life! The rooftop terrace is a true highlight. It offers a stunning view over Marrakech and features a small, tower-like structure that provides a 360-degree panoramic view of the city. It’s the perfect spot for sunbathing with a bit of privacy behind the walls – a real retreat! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available at very reasonable prices – everything is freshly prepared and of the highest quality. The Moroccan dinner was particularly outstanding. A special mention: the house manager is knowledgeable about gluten-free diets and fully understands celiac disease, making it easy to accommodate special dietary needs. Vegetarian options are also available and thoughtfully prepared. Another highlight is the on-site hammam with a relaxing massage – highly recommended! The house manager takes care of everything, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. The massage was outstanding and took place directly afterward in the riad’s own private hammam. A deeply soothing and rejuvenating experience – a must during your stay. The house manager is truly the heart of this place – warm, attentive, and always available.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Mayan & Spa! The location is perfect if you want to explore the local area beyond just the typical tourist spots. The Riad itself is absolutely stunning - brand new and exactly like the photos. Incredibly beautiful rooms (4 in total), two large communal sitting areas, and a lovely indoor courtyard complete with pool, just perfect for a morning swim or to sit and have a tea. Matteo and Abdel were lovely hosts. As the first guests after renovations, there were a few minor things to fine-tune, but they handled everything quickly and with great care. The hammam and massage were amazing and we wish we’d booked it earlier in the trip! We enjoyed a lovely breakfast one morning but also had free use of the kitchen so made our own breakfast most days using ingredients bought at the street markets around the corner, there's nothing you can't get in the area. Be aware, the Riad itself is tucked away down a side alley and can be tricky to find (especially since it’s new), but the hosts kindly met us at nearby Dar Tazi, a charming spot with a rooftop and great gluten-free food. Highly recommended - this place is a hidden gem! Shake off any doubt and just book this place, you won't regret it.

Hammam is an absolute fail- tried to charge us 900 dirhams for a cold shower in a cold room that was too small for two people- avoid. The massage was great however. They do not tell you about certain costs and then get confrontational upon checkout . Location right by tanneries can be noticed by the smell on the rooftop, aswell as the many pushy scammers around the area. A bit sketchy at times,

Beautiful, private, and relaxing stay—just be ready for minimal housekeeping and tricky navigation.
    • Leisure trip
    • Family with young children
    • Double Room with Private Bathroom
    • Stayed 3 nights

There are a few things to consider. Housekeeping isn’t done daily—they don’t automatically change sheets or provide fresh towels. And you’ll need to request toilet paper refills during longer stays. The water pressure in the shower was very weak, making it difficult to enjoy a proper rinse, especially after a tiring trip to the desert. Breakfast, while served with effort, didn’t quite justify the price in terms of quality or variety. Additionally, getting there from the airport can be a bit complicated (but you can ask the host for help). And to reach the main square, you’ll need to navigate through the souks and it is easy to get lost without a strong sense of direction or a good map.

The place felt clean, private, and luxurious, with tasteful interiors and a peaceful ambiance. Our room was spacious, featuring a huge bathroom and a private balcony that truly elevated the stay. The overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing, making it a great spot to unwind after exploring the city. The host was warm and accommodating with our requests, and both the Moroccan tea and coffee were excellent, served with genuine care and hospitality.

I would have preferred a more central location, only because I’m a solo traveller and finding my way back to the Riad from the Medina proved a bit tricky. Saying that I used a taxi most of the time as it was too hot to walk. Sadly I would have given this Riad five stars but the AC kept breaking down and in 45 degree heat it made sleeping uncomfortable. I couldn’t fault the staff for trying to get it repaired but I do feel the Management could have taken responsibility and resolved this issue before I checked out.

The staff are what make this place, Akrim and Hakim. They go out of their way every opportunity to ensure you have a wonderful experience. The room I stayed in was amazing, very spacious with lovely furniture and a comfortable bed combined with lovely clean linen. The room and remainder of Riad is immaculate with lots of areas to relax and chill around the pool. If you get an opportunity ask Akrim to cook a meal one evening, you will not be disappointed. It added a true Moroccan experience to my stay.
