How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe Riad had the perfect location - down a small and quiet street and yet only a few minutes walk into the bustle of the souks and only 10 minutes to the main square. Riad Rahal is extremely clean and well looked after with very comfortable and classically-styled rooms. The breakfast is exceptional and offers something different each day blending the traditional with the modern. However, the Riad's key asset is Adam and the staff. Adam is an experienced and caring manager that always puts the guests' needs at the heart of everything he does. He engaged with us weeks before we arrived to ensure all our expectations were met, if we had any, and was very helpful and supportive during our stay. He kept in touch with us throughout our stay and even arranged an early packed breakfast one morning at short notice. The Riad offers a wonderful oasis of calm and cleanliness underpinned by supportive staff who also respects the privacy of their guests. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Nothing, at all.

Verified reviewThe riad is very beautiful. The front desk, Adam was very hispitable and helpful. He went the extra mile to assist us in everything. Breakfast is yummy!
Adam helped us to carry our luggage up to the 3rd floor because there is no elevator. Also, arrange for carriage to pick up at the entry college to the riad to avoid possible problems with the wheels of the luggage.

Verified reviewWe enjoyed our stay here. Adam was a great host and went out of his way to be helpful. The location of the riad is good. As with all riads in the medina, you have to walk in. Adam met us when the taxi dropped us off at the entrance to the medina and helped us with our case to the riad and then did the same when we left (but somehow we had acquired another case!). The nice thing with this riad is that it's not too far into the medina so you don't have to drag your cases through the narrow, crowded lanes of the medina. The riad has a comfortable feel to it. It doesn't have the water features that a number of riads boast but that was fine. Breakfast is served on the roof and the roof here has a lovely, lazy, almost Mediterranean feel to it. The breakfast served is substantial and the staff are great. Compared to other riads in the medina, this was reasonably priced for the four nights we stayed. This would definitely be on my list if I was to return to Marrakech for another visit.
The size of the rooms are adequate although we were staying for four nights and there wasn't near enough room to hang things and no drawers so we were having to keep things in the suitcases. The shower/bathroom could have been better but bearing in mind that this is an old building, they've done a reasonable job with the limitations they had to deal with. I had a few observations for minor improvements which Adam gracefully received. Every time we'd come back the windows to our room would be open after the staff had cleaned the room. There is a safe in the room but it still didn't quite feel right. As the windows are flimsy, you could hear noise from other people entering or leaving the property and talking. That said, I think we were lucky that the other guests appeared to be extremely considerate and recognised the potential issue and kept the noise well down.

Verified reviewBest place to stay in Marrakech! This riad is located right in the souk and with a 5 minutes walk you arrive to this place where usually agencies pick you up to go out on excursions. The staff is SUPER, especially the host, he’s been really nice and helpful everytime we needed something. Clean and silent room, very cute! Also breakfast was good and served on the beautiful terrace. Will come back for sure, totally recommended!

Our host, Yousef, was super hospitable and made sure personally that we had everything that we needed! Overall, this Riad is highly recommended for a great experience in the heart of Marrakesh

Verified reviewHad a fabulous stay at Riad Rahal. The property is excellently restored, light, and bright. Beautiful tiles and is spotlessy clean. It smells amazing as soon as you walk in the door. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Different every morning. Staff can't do enough for you, especially Youseff, who helped us taxis and restaurant recommendations. I would highly recommend staying here.
Mattress was a little firm for me. But that is just my preference

Verified reviewWe spent a fair amount of time looking for a good boutique Riad, and were extremely satisfied with our eventual choice of Riad Rahal. Beautiful, immaculately clean, elegantly designed Riad with a gorgeous rooftop terrace. Breakfast offered great variety - be sure to say yes to savoury options - beds were very comfortable, excellent showers. What really made the place special was the service, genuinely warm and hospitable, by the wonderful Yussef at breakfast and Adam in the reception, as well as the friendly owner. Be sure to book your airport taxi via the Riad itself, they come to meet you at the taxi and walk you to the Riad - felt very safe. We travelled as a couple but would warmly recommend for female travellers as well, this place is a gem.

Verified reviewBeautifully designed. Stunning interiors. This is just the sort of place one wants to praise to the skies but also not tell anyone about to make personal booking easy all the time. Lovely staff. Superb food. What can I say. All excellent - but don’t tell anyone.
Nothing. To make life really sublime an in-room coffee maker but that would be icing on an already delicious cake.

Verified reviewWe had an incredible stay at Riad Rahal! Adam and Yusef are wonderful, breakfast was outstanding every day and the Riad is beautifully finished. A perfect oasis to hide away from the busyness of the Medina. The location is also perfect and all the big sights are within a good walking distance. Would highly recommend!
Sometimes we found the room a little dark, a few more lamps wouldn't go amiss. But otherwise, everything was perfect 😊
