We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWe loved everything about the Riad
I was a bit nervous about visiting Marrakech as I had received mixed reports from friends and forums. However from the minute we stepped outside of the airport and met Saiid who we had arranged to pick us up and drive us to the Riad any trepidation was put to rest. Saiid speaks excellent English and from the minute we met him he was reassuring, knowledgable about his city and welcoming. The rest of the staff we met at the Riad: Mohammed, Iman and Saiid's wife were all so welcoming, friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Once we ventured out into the city armed with both Google Maps and the street map that Saiid had given and explained to us we were confident enough that any reservations we had about the trip in advance just dissipated. Our room was spacious and clean with housekeeping daily. There was plenty of hot water as well as an in room safe. We could get sodas, water, mint tea etc from reception whenever we wanted it. It was added to our bill but were cheaper than were paid outside of the riad. We booked a cookery class while we were there which was just lovely. We shopped for the ingredients with Mohammed beforehand and then he stayed with us to answer any questions and assist in translation with Saiid's wife who was there to teach us. We took a full day trip to Essaouira with Saiid on our last day. Again he was chatty, educated and informative. There were a couple of stops en route which broke up the journey. This day out was so beneficial as it really gave us an opportunity to see another side of Morocco outside of Marrakech.

IrelandOur room was facing the front and there was some noise from outside on one of the nights. Maybe pack earplugs if you sleep lightly.
Beautiful, peaceful place. It was lovely to come back after a long day walking and relax on the rooftop or in the courtyard. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very relaxed and welcome.

Wanted a location within city to taste culture rather than a generic 4/5 star hotel. Succeeded in spades. Muhammad and staff lovely. Beds large and comfy. Dining area bright and welcoming.

United KingdomWe stayed in Winter so understandably it was a bit cold morning and evening. Perfect for overnights after a busy day out, but not much atmosphere if you want to stay in. I expect it may be different in summer on rooftop terrace. 20 min stroll through local residential area which when got our bearings was ok
Traditional Moroccan experience. Beautiful decor. Exceptionally pleasant staff. Good breakfast

For anyone thinking of going to Morocco, Riad Shaden in the heart of the Marrakech Medina is an absolute hidden gem! Mohammed, Imad and Said are so welcoming and work very hard to provide the best, quality service for all of their guests, nothing is too much trouble for them. I first stayed here 2 years ago and I was welcomed back with open arms like i had never been away! Would totally recommend to anyone who wants an authentic feel of Marrakech ❤️

SwedenThe staff at the riad were incredibly welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel right at home with their warm hospitality. Whether it was assisting with local recommendations or ensuring our comfort during breakfast, their genuine kindness and professionalism truly enhanced our experience. It's clear that they take pride in their work, and their dedication to providing exceptional service didn't go unnoticed. We left with fond memories and a desire to return, thanks in large part to the wonderful staff at the riad.

A fantastic holiday owed in huge part to the staff at the Riad. They do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and ensure you have everything (day trips, information, facilities...) you need. An oasis of calm in the middle of the Medina. The room was really comfortable and we both slept well.

United KingdomThe area is really rundown and poor and it’s not a good neighbourhood or street for tourists. It didn’t feel that safe walking home.
The staff were really wonderful, thank you Mohammed especially for being so helpful and considerate. It was very clean and comfortable.

United KingdomThe beds are a little hard but what can you expect for the price. It's superb value for money.
The Riad itself is beautiful and comfortable but what makes it truly special is the staff. Muhammad and Siad were attentive and very helpful. Whilst I was travelling with friends we were in different Riads.....and did I chose well. I felt safe and very well looked after. A special mention to Imad too who was also very helpful. 20 min slow walk into the centre of the Medina. Both myself and friends would definitely return to this homely Riad....breakfasts are fab.

ItalyI didn't like the tour organised through the Riad. It wasn't the transport or the guide - we were in a private car with the Riad's manager - but I don't like being shuffled from one purchasing situation to the next. We choose to go to the Ourika valley but for me that's not the real Morocco. Too packed with tourists, Moroccan and non, and on the way you are brought to the camels (extra cost), the ceramic makers (buy, buy, buy) and the women's Argan oil cooperative (this is not bad). The nicest part of the day was the guide organised in the valley to show us the waterfalls. He was excellent, the waterfalls were nothing special. I let the Riad know afterwards that this isn't my thing. I should have researched the valley better. Avoid if you don't like the tourist throngs.
We were mostly in contact with Mohammed and he was excellent. Very helpful and kind. Always a smile on his face. The breakfast was good, love the colourful dishes used! The room was cleaned everyday and suited our needs. It isn't too touristy or loud in that part of the Medina, and even though it isn't central, it only took us about 20 minutes to walk to the Jemaa el-Fnaa. It's near one of the gateways around the Medina so for tour pick-ups it's very easy. Overall a very good experience and a beautiful riad.

Spainnothing everything was perfect
honestly it's one of the best holidays I have been on, the staff were beyond amazing!!! the riad is stunning so cute and just so peaceful away which was surprising because of how close we were to the main touristic points and attractions. I would recommend using the airport service the road provides for 200 DH which is a bargain as the car was higher end than the taxis there and it's away from any taxi scammers that will try get more money from you, 100% will go back to stay here!!!!

United KingdomHad banana a couple of days but would have liked to have had a choice of fresh fruit at breakfast time to go with the yoghurt. You might struggle if you were on a gluten free diet. Didn't have the hottest of days so courtyard area where the eating took place was quite cold and would have liked candles on the table when eating at night
Everyone at the Riad were so helpful. Said, Mohamed and Imed could not have done more to make our stay special. Being slightly outside the main tourist area meant coming back to the Riad was very peaceful and away from the noise of the souks. Lovely to have the rooftop as an area to relax. Really enjoyed the cookery class.

SloveniaFirst we missed more signs to find a place. Second wifi was not working, not in the evening and not in the morning. The biggest disappointment was brakefast, the worst in two weeks of Morocco; not local, just a small coup of tea, no jogurt, no eggs. And to add up, there was no option to lock our room!
It was clean and in a fine, less busy part of Old Medina.
