We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandThe service should open windows in the room to let the fresh in before welcoming the guests. There should be some blankets for colder nights which we did not have.

HungaryOur triple room was located on the top floor, which was a nuisance at first when we arrived at night, but we were next to the rooftop so that was a perk. If you have trouble climbing stairs, I'd recommend asking first about where your room will be located.
This accommodation is conveniently located within the city, we stayed there two days and one day we walked through the medina, the other we could reach the royal palace on foot as well. We especially appreciated that they arranged transportation for us late at night and early in the morning (27€, cheaper at more reasonable hours). The rooms were simple but comfortable. The common spaces are beautiful. The wifi was stable. Breakfast was abundant and delicious, same both days, except for mandarin/orange juice.

Beautifully renovated riad. Owner and staff were great, rooms were stylish comfortable and clean. Lovely courtyard area for breakfast. Good breakfasts and delicious evening meal. Location was perfect, quiet and peaceful, but right on the edge of the medina, with nice places to eat nearby.

Good location (ca. 200m from nearest street parking) Ca. 500m to Medina, Mohammad one of the staff showed us to a hidden restaurant on the first evening we were there. Breakfast was good, we were also able to get breakfast packed on the second morning as we were leaving very early.

AustraliaWe enjoyed our stay at Riad Sheryne Fes. It is a quiet sanctuary from the bustle of the old city. The architecture is beautiful, our room was comfortable and the accommodation is well located within walking distance of one of the main entrances to Fes El Bali, as well as the labrynthine Medina. Our host was also very welcoming and kind. The traditional Moroccan dinner we had at the Riad was the best we enjoyed during our time in the country. The breakfast was generous and delicious.

AustraliaGorgeous riad, one of the main reasons I would recommend this hotel is its location, it was close to a main street , which means you're not carrying your suitcases too far to your accommodation. Most of the Riad's are in pedestrian only locations. We saw many tourists dragging their luggage and all I kept thinking was thank god we didn't have to do that .

Wonderful warm and friendly Moroccan hospitality. Beautiful Riad with amazing artisan work. Close to Medina etc but a quiet and peaceful oasis of calm after a couple of hours in the bustle of the markets. Nice breakfast. If/when we return to Fes this would be our first choice to stay!

SpainI’m used to hard mattresses and yet I still found the bed was too hard so I would suggest changing the mattress to a softer one. The wifi was not great but I think this is something we expected. When we arrived the room that was given to us was not the one we had initially booked and that first night the riad was full. We were a bit surprised and it was probably just a mistake. We were lucky that there was an empty room the next day and they could move us to the right one. Patrick assistant quickly solved this for us the next day. We appreciate he did this. This made our stay better. Something I have seen in other Riads is that they have names or numbers for each rooms in the Booking ads so when the customer books online there is no doubt of what room they booked. So I thought I’d offer it as a suggestion just in case it helps. None of this should stop you from choosing this riad but I felt these suggestions help as I think this Riad has the potential of becoming a 10. We were very happy with our stay and we will come back.
We totally recommend this Riad. The location is perfect and this in a Medina is important. Easy access to major streets and meetings points. Very close to good restaurants for travelers to eat safely. The Riad inside is beautiful. Some tips to future travelers: Room 1 is a bit dark. Low ceilings. I recommend paying a bit more and getting room 4 or any of the other rooms in the upper floors that face the internal patio. They are brighter and bigger. There is a terrace with amazing views. Don’t miss it. I suggest for the Riad to make more use of it. Perhaps having the possibility of having breakfasts in the terrace or maybe evening tea… Breakfast was decent and they prepare a pack for you to take away if you need to go early on an excursion. We didn’t speak Arabic and the staff doesn’t speak much English or Spanish but they were very kind and they did their best effort to find a way to communicate and it works. Google translate is great help. We truly appreciate the effort people make when we go to another country and we can’t speak their language. They took good care of us. They were also very respectful and polite during our stay. We didn’t have the chance to meet Patrick the owner but we would have loved to! Thank you for a pleasant stay. Maybe we’ll meet you next time.

United StatesBeds in Morocco tend to be on the firm side, this one was also like that. Still comfortable, with plenty of bedding and nice pillows, but a firm mattress.

United KingdomIt’s a structural problem in this riad, but the room is always humid and the shower spreads water all over the bathroom, so make sure you close the toilet lid so that the toilet seat won’t be wet. The bathroom door doesn’t close properly and it can open easily (we put the bin to keep the door shut). The breakfast could have different varieties, along with good coffee (it was instant) and fresh orange juice (instead of bottled juice with sugar). But all these issues are trivial when you think of all the hassles to find a right riad to stay - there are some dishonest people only interested in making money and lie about things. We were actually taken to this riad by another riad owner, who was exactly that; how lucky we were that his riad wasn’t available!
The staff were extremely friendly and we felt welcomed. Especially Muhammad went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We weren’t having breakfast at the riad as we wanted more variety. So he offered us fruits and different breakfast too. His mint tea was the best amongst all the mint tea we had in 8 days. Cleaning was done everyday and the room was comfortable with AC. Beautiful decor of the traditional 1948 riad is really special. The pricing is very reasonable especially for the location. It’s located near the entrance of Medina, but far enough from it to be quiet and peaceful. Also the area ‘Batha’ is a nice area, safer than some of the others we visited. Laundry, shops for water, cafes, ATM, peti taxi and street food stalls nearby, everything was on the door step. Overall Muhammad’s hospitality made this whole trip memorable and this riad can be one of the reasons for us to come back to Fes.

United KingdomWe had a wonderful stay at Riad Sheryne! The building is beautiful and stylish; and the rooms are specious and have the best powerful and hot shower ever! The hosts are lovely people, and the location is perfect, just 2 minutes from the blue gate and easy to find. Also, nice breakfast and amazing view from the terrace. FranceThe room was so cozy and quiet that I decided to extend my stay for other two nights. The staff was super kind and instantly helped me with my requests making everything so easy for me. They even prepared me breakfast personally at the time I needed! The riad is very central in the medina (5 minutes by walk to many meeting points of organized tours) but it is still very quiet at night. I truly recommend!
