Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

RomaniaFirst of all, I have to mention the breakfast. At least for me as an european I was expecting some bread, cheese, ham/salami. But unfortunately each morning the breakfirst was actually a dessert. You get only sweet stuff, like sweet bread, cookie, jam, honey, fruits and sometimes yogurt which is also a little bit sweet. Even though it was good tasting, the idea of eating so much sugar in the morning was a big disadvantage for me. Second thing I did not like it, it was the smell of urine coming out of the bathroom drainage. Here somehow I understand, because Marrakesh smells many times of urine due to constant heat and poor drainage system. Anyhow, we slept with door closed for bathroom and it was ok
It was really close to: • Royal Palace (there were a lot of police there and therefore we felt safe) • City Center and the famous square (20 min walk) • Trips I booked had the meeting point close to the Riad (I don't know if I was lucky on this, but for both trips I booked outside Marrakesh I didn't need to go by taxi to the meeting point) Other thing I liked was the staff that was really friendly and always eager to help you The riad looked traditional, which I liked and also the jacuzzi which is refreshing after the hot weather. Another plus was the flower fountain which was relaxing to hear it Room was clean and cleaned every day. Bed was comfortable and Air Conditioning was working fine (very appreciated during the 45° in August)

United KingdomIf there is one bad thing about the property is that it is not very much family friendly , if you are traveling as a family with kids this isn’t the place for you
The Diar was very clean and well located 10min walk to the great square , Salah the receptionist was super friendly and he is the main reason why we loved the diar and marrakesh , we had some in depth conversation and did everything possible to make our stay flawless. I’ll definetly be back to marrakesh just to stay again in this diar.

DenmarkNothing.... everything was perfect. It exceeded our expectations.
The Riad is beautiful. It has a very relaxing and inviting ambiance. We were greeted with tea and biscuits upon arrival and the host was very kind and accommodating. The rooftop top area was also great with a jacuzzi, sunbeds, covered lounge and dining area. Awesome space to escape the hussle and bustle of Marrakesh. The bed was super comfy and the bedroom and bathroom quite spacious. We really enjoyed our stay here. We highly recommend it!

United KingdomNothing about the Riad to dislike!
We're recently back from an awesome stay at Dar Sholmes. In all the places I've stayed I've never received such an awesome and warm welcome as the one we got from Ismail Hidden down a (safe) back street 15 minutes from the main square, the room was modern and clean, breakfast was nice and the hot tub on the rooftop was massively welcomed after a day of walking. All staff were fantastic, but a special shout out to Salah and Ismail for how helpful and friendly they both were throughout our stay. It may be only classified as a 3 star hotel but relative to what we paid (really important to remember when scoring!!) it is easily a 10/10 score. Would more than happily stay again if we go back to Marrakesh.

United KingdomThe room was a good size - clean and comfortable. It was nice that they pre-heated the room before we arrived as it was cold outside and would have been cold in the room. The shower was warm and the bed comfy. The styling was really nice as well with a big comfy sofa in the reception area. Staff were brilliant and helpful.
The property was in a great location only 20 mins walk from the main square and close to the airport.

NetherlandsThe shower runs out of hot water pretty fast and it takes a long time for it to become hot, so be warned. Towels are due for a replacement as well.
The staff was incredibly friendly, shout out to Ismael, he arranged a private transfer from the airport for us, and upon arrival we received some tea while we waited for our room to be ready. He also gave us a map of Marrakech and showed us where all the important sights are located and how to get their from the hotel. The room was pleasant, clean and comfortable. Location was perfect for us, not too close to all the noise of the medina but still in perfect walking distance.

United KingdomNothing.
Excellent authentic stay in the medina. Location was fantastic and an easy stroll to the centre square and markets. There is a little short walk down the alleyways from where the taxi dropped us for our check in. We found this really interesting and part of the fun finding our riad (traditional hotel). The welcome was amazing and Ishmail went through a map with us to guide us...it was so helpful. Cleanliness was perfect and our room with ensuite was spacious and comfortable (comfy pillows too !) Breakfast was similar to continental...fruit, breads and pancakes. Then we could select an evening meal in the morning and they went out to buy the ingredients fresh that day. We ate on the rooftop on two evenings and the food was fabulous 👌 Salah and Ishmail were amazing throughout and even found soccer channels for us so that we could watch Ireland and Morocco games🤗 We availed of the hottub on the rooftop during our stay too, which was fab 😎. We always bring our favourite tea bags with us and they happily gave us boiling water, cups and milk to take to our room when we asked. If you like an authentic old town experience in a super clean and friendly setting close to the centre we would highly recommend this riad. Loved it all 👏
