How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff were very welcoming. Ali was a gem! He helped us with EVERYTHING! He spoke to taxi/ TukTuk drivers for us to arrange time for pick ups and drop offs! Ali even woke up early in the mornings to walk us to the a meeting point! Ali and staff surprised my son with a birthday cake and sung happy to him both in English and Arabic. I cannot thank them enough for their time and generosity. I will definitely recommend the Riad Spice to all my friends! Thank you Ali and staff! You made our stay in Marrakesh very memorable 🇲🇦
Nothing!!

Verified reviewWe like the location and also it’s a very typical place for a short day in the Medina of Marrakesh
I should make an investment with decent mattresses and toppers ! Also, some of their appliances were not working just a bit of a pity for a place that just with a little door a little bit better

Verified reviewExcellent family-friendly riad. My daughter is 4 years old and was treated like a queen. Swimming pool that we could use early morning to later at night. Roof top terrace that was shaded for my daughter, my pal and I or ability to lie on sun loungers. Room was gorgeous, clean and had everything you needed. They accommodated my request for the room with a separate section like a 2nd room for our party which I was so grateful for. Breakfast was out standing. Pancakes for my fussy daughter and some morrocan trad food items and fresh fruit, coffee etc. Perfect start to the morning. And lastly, the staff were extremely tentative helpful and caring! Every staff member greated us and were warm to us throughout the visit. They cared that you had a great time.
The beds are extremely hard. Very different to home.

Verified reviewMohamad was such a lovely host, he was super charming and it felt like home. The housekeepers were also super friendly & nver let us go without water!
I visit Marrakech 4/5 times a year, so I do know Riad’s very well. The breakfast was poor, not the usual standard you normally get from other Riad’s. More of a personal feedback; the architecture is super pretty but the table cloths throughout are weird! Only a small detail but it ruins the aesthetics of the riad. To many I’m sure this won’t matter!

Verified reviewWe checked in riad spice but the junior suite which was allocated to us did not have an aircon in the secomd room. So promptly we were shifted to riad star there sister property. The aircon in riad spice was old and hardly cooling. We were taken to road star a slightly better property and ali our host was fantastic. We were shown 2 rooms which we liked: even the riad star is a little run down specially the bathroom as they have seepage all Over the place. Amazing hospitality by Ali and the team.
Seepage marks in the bathroom hardly any basic amenities in room, like toiletries and even a decent water kettle or good coffee. Seeing the price being charged which is exorbitant these are things which need to be looked into. Even the bath towels provided were old.

Verified reviewThe Riad is absolutely beautiful. It's a serene and relaxing place right in the centre of Old Medinah. Mourad was always there to help and accommodated our needs as efficiently as possible and he always went above and beyond to help out. I would definitely recommend this place, someone looking to stay right in the heart of Marrakech but also relax.
Me and my friends would come late at night and we had to wake them up again & again to open up the door, but the staff always did without any complaints, just felt guilty about ruining the sleep. Would have preferred if we could come in without disturbing anyone, but I guess that is the case for all Riadhs.

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay at this Riad! The entire place was spotless and beautifully maintained throughout our visit. Breakfast was a daily highlight – freshly prepared every morning with care and attention to detail. The service truly exceeded expectations; Mourad in particular went above and beyond for us every single day. He was always available, incredibly helpful, and made us feel right at home. The hospitality was unmatched
Nothing at all - everything exceeded my expectations

Verified reviewLocation is in the center of old Madinah. Everything around is walking distance we didn't need a car. Staff was very welcoming. Special thanks to Lehsen for taking care of us and showing us around. He even gave us a map explaining all the activities we can do in the area. You can book activities from this Riad like Hammam and atlas mountains hike. This Riad looks modern and beautiful, very safe and quiet. beds are comfortable, breakfast is amazing. Internet speed is good. They do house keeping during the day. Highly recommend
No sound isolation between rooms. No parking available because of the location. You need to park outside of Madinah and pay for it (around 100 MAD per day).

Verified reviewClose to the medina
We booked a junior room where we should have got a bedroom and sprayed living room and bathroom but ended up checks us in a standard room where we had bedroom and bathroom only and when we told them they refused to help us and told us to go to booking for help. When we did this, they ignored booking along with the request for a price adjustment as we got smaller room for what we paid for
