How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff was great. Hamza was wonderful and very helpful with everything - the same with Ibrahim. They showed me spa treatments, places to go, and so on.
The Riad was typical. Probably could use a lil renovation..

Verified reviewWe only stayed at the Riad for one night, but it was fantastic. Ismail gave us an extremely warm welcome, and gave us plenty of recommendations for an incredible evening. We would absolutely come back. The location is walking distance to the city center which is quite lively at night. The rooms are simple and beautiful.

Verified reviewThe Riad was really lovely in a great central location. The staff were especially helpful and attentive particularly Hamsa who welcomed us when we first arrived. The included breakfast was also amazing. When we come back to Marrakech we plan to stay here.

Verified reviewWe liked very friendly personnel a lot and the location. The terrace was nice as well. We felt very secure and taken care well.
We lacked a kettle in the room. It was impossible to organise it. My wife likes fresh coffee in the bed in the morning. To get it we had to dress up and climb to the terrace, where the breakfast was served. It was the only disadventage we have experienced.

Verified reviewLocation was great and really safe. Bed and amenities were perfect. Rooftop for chilling at night time and for breakfast. The staff name Mr.Hamza was really nice and helpful.
Waiting for staff to open the hotel door when we want to go in (sometimes 3 mins). It is for safety purpose but it would be better if there is a remote to help staff open the door from somewhere in the hotel.

Super clean and comfortable rooms, really beautiful Riad, would 100% recommend! Very close to the souks and the medina and short walks away from other tourist attractions

Verified reviewI was treated like a sultana! I was very warmly welcomed by Hamza and Ismail who helped me navigate around the riad and the city, arranged early breakfast and hammam for me with short notice :) The Riad and the rooms are well decorated, comfortable and clean. well located close to many sightseeing locations, the medina, palaces and Koutoubia mosque.
They are partnering with another riad for the hammam. That other place delivered a good service, but cheated on the exchange rate for the payment.

Verified reviewWe arrived super late at night and were a bit stressed about finding the place and getting a taxi, but the staff were amazing, super helpful and kind. They made us feel very welcoming. They also took the time to explain how to get around the city, gave us tips on the best spots to visit, and even got for us a local internet chip, which was a huge help! The hotel itself is a real Riad, full of charm and super cozy, it honestly felt like home. The location is great too, close to everything but still peaceful. If you're looking for a place that’s welcoming, and feels like home, this is it. We loved our stay and would definitely come back!

Verified reviewLocation was perfect, walking distance to major attractions such as Bahia Palace and Jmaa el Fnaa, taxi's and stores nearby. Breakfast quite lavish. Personnel always friendly and supportive, giving us helpful advice.
The lightning in the room was not sufficient. We could not use the TV because the power outlet did not work.

Verified reviewNice location, right outside the busiest area. Nice decor of the ground floor and the staff was attentive to your needs.
Very unclear check in process, we had to wait 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The staff was very nice though. The rooms are quiet noisy as there’s not proper windows/doors so we could hear basically everyone walking outside all night. Unfortunately for the money paid, there are way better properties in Marrakech.

Verified reviewStaying at Riad Sultan Suleiman was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Marrakech. From the very first moment we arrived until the day we left, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and at home. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and always smiling. They assisted us with everything from local recommendations to transportation, always going the extra mile with genuine warmth. The riad itself is beautiful and full of charm, but what truly made our stay special was the hospitality and friendliness of the team. We are so grateful for their care and support, and if we return to Marrakech, we wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else.

Verified reviewLocation is nice as it is near to all the main sites and while being in the medina its entrance opens on to a road accessible by taxi. Staff, especially Hamsa and the lady who is at the breakfast are very sweet and attentive.
1. Tacky decor and extremely small room. The property has put up factually incorrect room information. We stayed in a room called ‘ Emir’ which as per description was Deluxe Suite and supposed to be a 30 sq mtr room with a living room. In reality this was a room no larger than 15 sq mtr with no space to move if you open even one suitcase. In the name of a ‘ living room’ there were 2 chairs which we had to ask them to remove as there was just no place otherwise to even keep out suitcases. The bathroom was substandard with poor quality toiletries and not so clean towels. 2. The payment for the stay has to be made at the property and they overcharge. The exchange rate applied to convert Euro to MAD was at a 6% premium to the market rate and over and above they levy a 3.5% charge for payment by credit card. 3. And now comes the bummer. When I complained about the room being not as per description etc the property management fraudulently ‘ cancelled’ my booking and showed me as a no show on the Booking.com app. This does 3 things- they invoked a payment for the stay against the credit card given as guarantee on the portal and also ensured I would not be able to write a review ( as I supposedly did not even stay there) besides they would not have to pay any portal fees to Booking.com. IT TOOK SEVERAL CALLS AND EMAILS TO Booking.com customer care to reverse my stay status so that I could write this review.

Verified reviewThe riad is situated in Marrakech’s Kasbah district, within easy walking distance of all major tourist attractions. The rooms were clean and well-kept, and the staff were polite and welcoming. Breakfast was satisfying for everyone, and the terrace offered stunning, picture-perfect views.
If I had to be picky, the shower pressure could use improvement, and the air conditioning didn’t do much, as it’s positioned quite far from the bed.

Verified reviewWe stayed in late April for 3 nights. Staff were really great, really helpful, both before our arrival and during our stay. Riad is lovely. Breakfast included in price was fabulous - presented beautifully every morning with slight changes in fruits and some foods. We had a room on the ground floor which was large with a king bed, a lounge suite, big tv, mini fridge, private ensuite. Decorated beautifully in Riad style. Lots of power points. Free internet worked well. Location is fantastic - just on edge of the medina so outside the main chaotic hustle and bustle, but terrifically placed for walking to all major attractions (except Jardin Marjorelle). Taxi stand is less than 50m (taxis are cheap). ATM 10m or so. Mb/cell.ph shop very close. Cafes all around. Would stay here again in a heart beat.
These are not 'didn't likes' - just suggestions that would make a '10/10' accommodation score from us: a kettle in the room to make tea/coffee at leisure would be great. And a communal washing machine that guests could do a quick wash of clothes.
