Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MoroccoThe riad is nestled in the heart of the old medina, where every corner whispers the soul of Morocco. The place was spotless, blending traditional charm with modern comfort, and the most important thing is CLEAN, What made the experience unforgettable was the incredible hospitality of the staff, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It felt like a home away from home

United StatesAs soon as I booked Riad Tawkane, I was asked what my flight number was so they could have a taxi ready for when I landed in Marrakech. Getting dropped off near the riad, we were walked to the place by Abdo who was an exceptional guide. Once we got to the riad, we had time to settle in and then got offered to drink Moroccan tea at the rooftop. Abdo then took us to exchange our Euros to MAD at the center of Marrakech which was a great experience with a lively culture. The night wasn't over though. We then got some street food and juice which was delicious. The breakfast every morning was very authentic and filling. The service was amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Marrakech.

The host was great! He arranged my transport from the airport and made sure I was settled in upon arrival. He shared many recommendations and gave me his contact details in case I ever needed directions. The single room was perfectly good for what I needed, it even had an en-suite! The room was cleaned every day for me and it had working air con and a lock on the door. Lovely little room and great value for money.

Beautiful, clean room with phenomenal service that went above and beyond. Many thanks to Abdul for welcoming us and showing us where the nearest restaurant was when we got in tired and hungry from the flight. The decor of the room is wonderful, airy, and clean with a lovely terrace on the roof matching this. The breakfast (which was included) was filling and a lovely taste of local cuisine. The location is perfect because it is still right by the things that you'd like to see as a tourist, such as Madersa Ben Youssef and the Souks (about 5min walk) but still somehow isolated, calm and idyllic. Bear in mind this was our first time in Morocco. I can not recommend Riad Tawkane enough!

NetherlandsThe Riad is located in a more quiet area and close to the souk. It is very nicely designed and decorated and has a nice view from the rooftop, which is comfortable and cozy. The owners and the staff are very friendly and always welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is amazing. The rooms are a bit small but clean, comfortable and cozy and the bed linnen is very soft. I came back for a second time because I really enjoyed my time here!

IrelandLocation, for me it was hard to find, but this is the norm with the riads. The kids will walk you to Ben Youssef Madrassa. They were not looking for money but seemed to enjoy the chat. Everyone around was very helpful. A taxi from the airport did drop me quite close, so it is possible to get a taxi home. The first day, Soufian met me there. I think it was called "Moukf". However, I wanted to rise to the challenge of getting myself home, which I did at 12 pm.
For my first time ever in Marrakech, Raid Tawkane was special. Soufian bought me a Morrocan SIM card and set it up for me (€2, and not the €20 as suggested by all in the airport). The Riad is very basic and not luxurious. It is newly renovated and, as such, is spotlessly clean. Crispy clean linen. Ayesha and Ikram tried so hard to help me, via Google translate, they were just very kind considering I was nervous! Breakfast was substantial. A lot of carbs but Msemmen and honey freshly squeezed orange juice wharlts not to love!!

FinlandI am a coffee person so I must say about the coffee (at breakfast) that it was weird. Did it have anis in it?
Marrakech consists of an old city (medina) and a new city. This Riad is located in the old city and the area is not for everyone. If you prefer fancy hotels go to the new city area for your sleep. If you want to experience the real culture of Marrakech then this is your place to be. The old city is surrounded by a 12 kilometer long wall. Djemaa el-Fna, huge bazaar area, is also located in Marrakech kinda close to this Riad. We walked everywhere, no need for taxis. Staff was very friendly and the communication worked well. Rooms were tiny but clean & I had the best sleep and mint tea in the Riad!

PolandIt might be hard to find on a first day.
We had a very pleasant stay at this riad. The staff were friendly & making sure everything was comfortable. The owner was very helpful, especially with booking a taxi & printing our boarding passes. The place was clean, newly renovated and well-maintained. We enjoyed the authentic atmosphere and the breakfasts on the rooftop. The riad is offering a peaceful break from the bustling Medina while still being conveniently located. We would happily stay here again.
