How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewEverything. The hospitality, the decor, facilities, bed and bed linen, all the nooks and crannies. The view from the roof top terrace was amazing and we were very sad to leave. Absolutely stunning Riad.

Verified reviewWe had a perfect stay. The staff were very welcoming, everyone speaks English very well, the hosts - Michel and Asma are excellent hosts. Would definitely come back. Rooms were as shown in the pictures and were spacy and comfortable. I'd recommend trying their dinner, at least once.

Verified reviewAn excellent stay - a home away from home with the friendliest hosts who helped us understand the local area, organised trips and laid on a special birthday meal with some of the most delicious food we had during our weekend in Marrakesh. The riad is beautifully decorated and very clean, and we loved having a delicious breakfast on the lovely roof terrace every day.
For us the bed was quite hard, but that is very subjective and down to personal preferences.

Verified reviewFriendly, helpful owners and staff. Honesty fridge for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages Roof terras is nice to have a meal or chill after a day out. Location is 2 minutes walk from the main square and excellent for seeing all the sights.
Our week had less good weather. The open, public, areas were also cold. Sitting in the room is then less comfortable, especially as the internet does not work when the windows & door are closed.

I discussed with Brahim about the room and accomodation: - The photos shared on Booking don't correspond of what are the really dimensions of room - Double room don't let you to have enough space: the bed was positioned on the wall. The persons were obliged "to jump over" in case of need - The 3rd bed was positioned in a place not comfortable, just in front of entrance. - ceiling of wood: I was not comfortable to have such ceiling on my head. I didn't know what could be out from there - Water: it was charged as extra the water served during the breakfast. I was wondering if this is correct but the reception answered the Brahim decided in this way. This was not transparent. - The bathroom drain didn't work: I told to Brahim about this problem and replied that I would have taken out the filter : absolutely unacceptable
Dear Mario, We are both disappointed and sorry to read your comment. Disappointed because our team and we put a lot of heart into our Riad which until today was unanimously appreciated by our visitors (see booking reviews and other travel websites comments where we are first Riad in the ranking (its accommodation and its cuisine)) And here it seems that we have not managed to satisfy you. We will therefore take up the points you raise carefully and we will correct them if necessary. However, we would like to draw your attention to the following points: 1.The photos and size of the room: Your photos are exactly similar to those on the booking site except that the disorder (unmade bed, open suitcases, lights out but normal given your occupancy of the room) does not do justice to the quality of the accommodation. The bedroom (your three private spaces) is 17 m2 + the thickness of the large walls and the cupboards) 2. The ceiling The ceiling was rebuilt in 2010 using Traditional Berber techniques, a complicated set of intertwined woods, placed and consolidated by a hard structure (above). It has never moved and it is one of the charming elements of the Riad ! 3.The breakfast is unanimously renowned and the drinks are sufficient (coffee/tea/hot water and milk/fruit juice) and local pastries/crepes, bread, eggs, yogurt, fruit; It is normal that if you take 1.5 liter water bottles for your hikes, we will charge you extra for them at the very reasonable price of 30 dirhams. (less than 3 euros) 4. Evacuation The Medina of Marrakech is a unique place, but which generates some technical constraints, these are well accepted by our guests. Lifting the plug placed at the drain for a better flow is not degrading. Another way to stay in Marrakech is to take advantage of the hotel offerings of the major chains outside the Medina which offer a standard product (no complicated ceiling) better suited to certain visitors. In any case, your severe rating is a message which penalized and saddened our team but which did not erase our enthusiasm and we all hope that the rest of your trip went well and that you will keep good memories of the Morocco.

Verified reviewThe Road was truly beautiful down to every last detail. Staff (especially Mouad) went truly above and beyond. We were so well looked after at any time of the day. Despite being very central the Riad was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Dinner on the roof terrace was a highlight and so was the hammam treatment.

Verified reviewa fantastic Riad with only 6 rooms, furnished with an exceptional taste fantastic location in the middle of Medina, you easily reach all Marrakech within walking distance 3 fantastic people (Mouad, Hneya and Khadija) take care of you and all your needs eating on the private roof top is an incredible experience: certainly the best restaurant in Marrakech, Hneya and Khadija are incredible cooks
