How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewGood, safe location on the edge of the medina. Easy to get to.. Most of the staff were friendly.
The riad appeared to be closed for the summer when I arrived I was the only guest, the fountain was bone dry and the container plants needed watering. No one knew how to get the air conditioning to cool my room until the last night when it was 44C outside. The breakfast was OK but the bread and pastries were stale. The manager, who unusually for Morocco didn't take my passport details, said there's a 5% surcharge on card payments which was unexpected and preferred to be paid in cash which was inconvenient in the extreme heat.

Verified reviewOur stay at Riad Tizwa in Marrakesh was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the warm hospitality that makes this place truly special. Hassan, the manager, was exceptional. His communication before and during our stay was impeccable - always responding promptly and going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. He arranged airport transfers, recommended authentic local restaurants, and even offered to organise our day trip to the Atlas Mountains and various other must do tours of Morocco. His genuine warmth and extensive knowledge of Marrakesh made us feel like welcome guests rather than tourists. The two Mohamads on staff were equally wonderful. One greeted us each morning with his infectious smile and served breakfast with pride and attention to detail. The other Mohamad was incredibly helpful with directions and advice about navigating the medina and greeted us each evening to make sure we had everything we needed before going to bed. The ever smiling and kind cleaning staff deserves special praise for maintaining immaculate rooms. We returned each day to perfectly made beds and spotless bathrooms. Breakfast was a daily highlight - served in the beautiful courtyard or on the rooftop terrace. The fresh bread, homemade jams, Moroccan pancakes, and mint tea provided the perfect start to each adventure-filled day. The riad itself is a peaceful haven in the bustling medina - traditional architecture blended with modern comforts, gorgeous tilework, and a serene atmosphere. The rooftop offers wonderful views of the city. Thanks to Hassan and his incredible team, our stay at Riad Tizwa wasn't just accommodation - it was a meaningful glimpse into Moroccan hospitality and an essential part of our Marrakesh experience. We'll be back for sure!

Verified reviewLocation Friendliness and helpfulness of staff Size of room
Having to knock front door every time came back to hotel and then wait for someone to open door. Would have preferred an electronic key for entry. Breakfast- didn’t like just given a tray of breakfast items. Would have preferred to choose own. Meant lots of wastage as we didn’t eat lots of items given to us.

We had a little problem with the toilet. The shower had electricity and sometimes the sink would fill with water that wouldn't drain.

Verified reviewThe riad (traditional Moroccan hotel) was beautifully decorated and romantic. We had the top floor apartment with access directly to the shared terrace area. It was very clean and staff went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel welcomed. They were prompt in answering our queries and sorting things out for us. The service was exceptional! The traditional Moroccan breakfast was delicious and extremely generous. We didn't even have to eat again until the evening. The location was great with lots of great restaurants and shopping in the area. The riad was slightly set back from the main road so very quiet and you didn't hear the road traffic or the general noisiness of Marrakech!
Moroccan riads have many steep stairs and narrow doorways so would not recommend to anyone with mobility issues. Not the riad's fault but there is a very noisy restaurant in the area that played loud techno music into the early hours. It didn't bother me but my partner found it hard to sleep because of it.

Verified reviewWe stayed two nights at this riad & loved it - the beautiful rooms & architecture, the delicious breakfasts, the whole ambience of the place, the wonderful staff who were so warm & welcoming - there was really nothing not to like about this place. We are now staying in a more expensive riad for our remaining three nights, and it’s lovely too but we preferred Riad Tizwa Marrakech!
The prospect of returning to grey, wet England!

Verified reviewRiad Tizwa was a home away from home on a recent 7 day holiday in Marrakesh. The warm welcome from the staff and communal atmosphere of the Riad itself made the experience both comfortable and nostalgic. A special thanks to the staff who made this trip as good as it was: Hassan, for managing our stay from start to finish and providing lots of helpful information and recommendations before we arrived in Marrakesh. He took care of lots of the usual ‘holiday admin’ such as arranging transfers and booking activities which made the entire trip feel seamless and relaxed. Hassan gave me some Moroccan tea to take home with me since I told him I liked it so much, which is one of many special things he and the rest of the stay did to make this trip great. Yazid, for greetings us at the door every night and managing of the Riad in the evening. Yazid made us feel comfortable and welcome at the Riad. Aziz, for cooking and serving the most amazing breakfast every morning, which included Moroccan breads, homemade yogurt, fresh orange juice and eggs (how ever we liked it). Malika (and the rest of the maintenance team) for making our bed every day, cleaning the shower room and generally keeping the riad in such pristine condition. Well done Riad Tizwa, you did beautifully.

Verified reviewI like the room, terrace, location.
The room was smeelimg so bad. and it was in the ground floor so if you want some privacy, you need to close windows and door which make the room so small, dark. I did not like staying in the room.
