How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful riad in the centre of the medina, close proximity to the Jemaa el-Fnaa and other attractions/lots of restaurants nearby! The riad itself is beautifully decorated with a moroccan feel and lots of different areas within the riad to explore, our room was in the pool courtyard which was just stunning. There is a real sense of calm when you come in from the hustle and bustle of the medina and room was well air-conditioned maintaining a comfortable temperature. The breakfast served each morning was a delicious spread. Staff were very kind and helpful. We were two females in our mid 20s and felt safe the whole time in the surrounds of the riad.
The shower in our room (Safia suite) doesn't have a screen or curtain, did partially flood the bathroom which could be avoided with a newer shower head or screen (although I do understand this would change the traditional aesthetic of the room. The riad is approx 5 min walk from the Jemaa el Fnaa and cars cannot access the property - this wasn't an issue for us but would be a consideration for those with mobility issues or solo female travellers as you need to walk through some quiet alley ways to access.

Verified reviewThe staff were very attentive and friendly! Our flight got in quite late and a member of staff met us on the busy street to guide us to the riad, they also organized our excursions and transfer from the airport which was helpful! The breakfast was really good it was the perfect traditional Moroccan breakfast! The rooms were cleaned every day!
We chose the red Deluxe double room which was a lot darker than it looked in the pictures with only natural light in the bathroom making it hard to see in the room, however we asked to change room and the staff accommodated us as soon as they could!
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed our friendly staff, great location, and the cleanliness of our riad. It's wonderful to know that we were able to assist you with your late arrival and help organize your excursions and airport transfer. We appreciate your understanding regarding the differences in our room designs. Each room is unique, and we strive to accommodate our guests' preferences whenever possible. We're glad that our team was able to assist you with a room change promptly. Thank you once again for your kind words, and we hope to welcome you back on your next visit! Best regards, RY team

Verified reviewHad a delicious welcome dinner when I first arrived, and wonderful and filling breakfasts every morning. The setting and decor of Riad Yamina was charming. As for the room itself, it was cosy and did the job, with a much-appreciated aircon keeping us cool at night. We had requested a cot, but only found out upon arrival that it would be too small for our child. But the staff were very helpful in rearranging some of the (rather heavy!) furniture in the room to make a child-safe bed from the sofa. They were friendly and accommodating, and helped us to feel welcome.
The room was a bit dim, especially in the bathroom, which made it a bit difficult to get around at night! But very atmospheric as a result.
Thank you Mark, for your lovely review. The dimly lit atmosphere is typical, but we are working to improve confort. Thank you so much. RY Team

Verified reviewMy partner and I had a wonderful time in this Riad and I highly recommend it to any couple or solo traveller looking to explore central Marrakech for a few days. Its location meant that we were only a short walk away from the pick ups for our booked activities and also all the restaurants, markets and facilities we needed were close by. The staff were so friendly and hospitable. We had Mohammed pick us up and drop us off at the airport, and he also messaged on whatsapp to let us know where he would be and what he would be wearing. At Marrakech one of the team picked us up from the taxi and walked us all the way to the Riad so there was not any issue navigating and finding the Riad at night on the first day of arrival. I cannot remember the other names of the people who worked during our time at the Riad but all of them were incredibly friendly and hospitable, making us feel at home and looked after.
Minor issue was that contact ahead of time via booking.com was a bit of an issue, as we did not know what we would be eating on the night of our first arrival (it was hard to get replies for details on the food). As one of us has a nut allergy and the other doesn't eat fish or any meats apart from chicken it was a bit worrying as we had no idea what we would end up having on the first night. Fortunately it was fine, and the food was delicious and memorable. In case people are interested, we had bread with two starter dishes: tomato and pepper and aubergine - the aubergine was delicious and one of the best things we tasted the whole trip! This was followed by chicken tagine and couscous, followed by a fruit cake dessert.
Dear Customer, Thank you very much for the fantastic review, and I hope you can come back to visit us soon. I would like to take this opportunity to provide some information about the dinner we serve at the riad. The menu is fixed and changes every evening based on the products that the cook buys at the market. There are always three appetizers (salad marocain), tajine, and a dessert. We always ask those who book dinner with us to inform us of any allergies or intolerances. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your comment. RY Team

Verified reviewRooms were clean and staff were friendly.
Hotel staff came to collect us from our taxi drop off point and we had to pull our luggage all the way to the Riad and the road to the Riad is bumpy and dusty. Other riads have luggage carts to carry luggage so that the wheels on the suitcases are not damaged. The riad needs to improve on this by getting luggage carts.
Dear Diana, Thank you for your lovely review. As regards porters, this service is not exclusive to the riads. Porters are stationed in the square and are hired when there are many bags, which is what we do. This service is not available for night arrivals or morning departures. However, we always try to assist with luggage. We appreciate your feedback and we will do our best to improve our service. Regards RY Team

Verified reviewThey stole €100 cash from my room during cleaning. They changed the order of clothes and things in our room. We can't say if it was the cleaning ladies or the guy at the reception who seemed suspicious when talking to us. Despite this, the Riad is very welcoming, with an international and abundant breakfast.

Dear Riccardo, It is truly very unfortunate to read this comment. As the staff explained to you verbally, in many years of operation, and always with the same staff responsible for monitoring, we have never had any reports of money or other items being taken from our rooms. On the contrary, over the years, guests have stolen all sorts of things from our rooms. There are safes in the rooms where money and valuable items should be stored. What you are claiming is very serious, and it is ultimately your word against our complete good faith and certainty regarding the honesty of our staff. RY Team

Verified reviewLocation was great, staff very helpful and friendly, comfortable rooms
The only thing was the toilet didn’t refill with water so we had to keep doing it manually. And the shower tap got so hot it burnt my hand when trying to turn it off. And it didn’t drain so was constantly flooding.
Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your experience with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the great location, helpful and friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered with the toilet and the shower. Please know that we have a maintenance team available to address any malfunctions. We encourage our guests to report issues as soon as they arise so we can resolve them promptly. Regarding the shower, it is equipped with a drain that has an anti-odor mechanism, which is usually closed, and can easily be opened by pressing it. We also apologize for the water temperature being too hot; we are aware of the difficulties in balancing hot and cold water and are actively working on a solution. We hope to welcome you back for an even better experience in the future. Best regards, RY Team

Verified reviewWe loved our stay here! The staff were incredible and super helpful as well as accommodating! The food here is amazing, we had lunch and dinner and honestly it was better than most restaurants we’ve tried. The areas and our room were always clean!! The location is really on point just beware of the fact that after 1 pm there are no cars allowed so you will have to walk from the main plaza all the way to the hotel with your luggage. This was not an inconvenience for us but just something to keep in mind. We also scheduled our airport transport with them and it was super easy. We would definitely come back especially because the staff made it so much better!
The spa was lovely but it’s not what I’m used to in the US. This is not their fault at all just keep in mind that the culture is different and the spa experience is also different.
Dear Delia, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're delighted to hear about your positive experience with us. With our organized transfer service, we assist guests in handling their luggage with the help of a porter, especially for those with larger bags. Additionally, we offer both a Hammam and a Spa for our guests. Hammam is a tradition ritual . We appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back soon! Best regards, RY staff

Verified reviewStaff were really polite and helpful, location is great as it's really close to the main square which is very busy, but quite when in the Riad. Room (Mayer with private balcony) was excellent and the whole Riad has lots of places to relax. Breakfast was very good and overall i highly recommend this accommodation.
You don't get a front door key, you have to ring the bell to enter, but they answer quickly so not a big deal at all.
Thank you for your feedback! We don’t provide keys for the safety and security of all our guests. We have a 24h service. Your understanding is appreciated! RY Team
