How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff here are the friendliest and smiliest people I’ve ever come across. They really make this riad super special. We’ve loved every minute of staying here and would highly recommend. The food is great the menu du jour is good value. Petanque, the pool. Everything is family friendly too. We want to come back with our daughter and would definitely visit again. We had a massage under the trees and saw their lovely tortoise family. We also fell in love with toothless their black cat. The kid owners let us spend many hours here after check out.

Verified reviewThis property certainly had the WOW factor! With its beautiful Moorish design and wonderful heated swimming pool. We were certainly impressed on arrival. The attractive tropical gardens offered other areas to relax and enjoy the beautiful bird song whilst sipping a cocktail.
We stayed at the Riad for 7 nights which was long enough to notice things that could easily be improved upon. There was nowhere to leave used pool towels and subsequently towels were left on sun-beds for many hours after they had been vacated. Maybe a basket for used towels or extra vigilance by staff to tidy pool towels and also used glasses that were also left on pool tables for many hours.

Verified reviewWe loved our stay here so much, it feels like an idyllic paradise - just a short drive from essaouira. The whole team were really friendly and willing to help and make our stay as good as possible. The place is just so beautiful, very stylishly decorated and the gardens are great. We loved playing table tennis, boules, playing with the very cute kittens and we especially loved the pool. We would love to come back here if we return to essaouira.

Verified reviewThe pool and gardens are amazing - and the Riad itself is beautiful. Comfy room and a great set up to have the separate little room for our son to sleep in. The food was great with lots of choice, both Moroccan classics and others - we loved the breakfast too. Nice additions with the games and tortoises (and cats + kittens!) to keep us and little one entertained. Yousra, Jeremy and the whole Riad team are super friendly, welcoming and accommodating - with great suggestions of things to do in Essaouira. Also organised taxi travel for us into the town which made life easy without having a rental car.
Not much - We'd love to visit again!

Verified reviewYanitri Riad is a home away from home. We immediately felt welcomed and well looked after. The intimacy and warmth of the beautiful Riad makes the perfect combo to enjoy a holiday in such beautiful country. The interiors and amenities are great, staff is lovely, smiley and helpful. Yousra and Jeremy, the owners, are very friendly, always willing to help and to have a chat with everyone. They help us with everything , from car renting, to offering advise for places to visit. Our stay was equally peaceful and fun….We can’t wait to come back! :)

Verified reviewThe facilities where all amazing, with a warm, large and very clean pool, many activities for kids including table tennis, badminton and volley ball. Service was friendly and always available. Rooms were large och light, and kept very clean. The owners were present ensuring we were happy daily, and the athmosphere was overall very warm and welcoming among both staff and guests. The orange juice served for breakfast was freshly squeezed!
Being Scandinavian, I would have loved something savoury for breakfast, as perhaps a piece of cheese. And some fresh fruit would have added to breakfast, given how much tasty fruit is available in the area. But that is mostly my own preference!

Verified reviewThe photographs do not do justice to this peaceful and spacious riad The staff were extremely friendly, the riad is beautifully decorated with lush gardens and a fabulous pool. We appreciated the pétanque, badminton and table tennis facilities plus free use of pool towels, sunbeds,, etc. The bar was a real bonus with good food and drinks. Only one small thing to dislike (and this really wasn't a problem) but the shower in the room was a bit unreliable. Riad Yanitri was a little pièce of paradise, much appreciated at the end of our Southern Morocco travels.

Verified reviewThe Moroccan breakfast was good and we were grateful when the staff added in a little fruit salad at our request as to be honest that did feel like it was missing. The two main staff were lovely and the heated pool and pool area also very nice. Jeremy and Yousra were very relaxed hosts who visited occasionally and gave us help and tips.
We felt our room could have been swept at least once during our stay, particularly the bathroom. We know most guests did not stay more than a night/few nights so maybe the cleaners not used to having guests for a whole week. We did not find the “sitting area” in our suite at all comfortable and felt some cushions were needed to make it relaxing - especially as we had to spend quite a bit of time there as the bar area not open for Ramadan. We merely say this as a suggestion as it’s possible the owners had not tried sitting there. At times during the rain it did feel like the bar area began to look rather miserable and we almost wanted to get up and sweep the water away ourselves! We recognise it is Ramadan and staff may not have huge amounts of energy though.
