How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSuch an amazing place! My brother and I were there on Eid and the family were all together celebrating, and they invited us to join them, which was just so incredibly kind. It's a family- and woman-run business. The house is beautifully decorated and homey, and the views from the rooftop are gorgeous.

Verified reviewThe staff were nice, hotel is situated within the Kasbah ,a refurbished traditional Riad it was amazing to be staying within history. Fantastic airconditioning. Amazing view from window
The doors were not locked at night, environment didn’t feel safe, hard to find walking through the kasbah at night. Exposed electrics and dark narrow pathways to reach the riad. Also dirty towels and dusty furniture. No toiletries provided. Wanted to take out passports to hold, we refused.

Verified reviewWe wanted to experience a traditional Moroccan riad and Rose Noire did not disappoint! The building is absolutely beautiful and our room was exactly what you would imagine when you think of Morocco. The owner and staff are a lovely family and they made our stay special. You can tell when people just genuinely care about making your experience enjoyable; this is exactly how we felt at Rose Noire. The riad is located perfectly next to the Kasbah and is a short walk into town.
We had a wonderful stay and it's hard to think of negatives. The bed was a little hard but that is just our preference, we still managed a great sleep every night.

Verified reviewSpacious rooms and bathroom. Great view from the roof Air conditioning was a good bonus.
The location was far from downtown, the house was messy, the staff was disorganized and some were rude. We didn’t feel very confortable during our stay. It was expensive for what they offered.

Verified reviewRose Noire is definitely a beautiful find in the old medina. It is hidden away and feels like travelling back in time. The rooms are nostalgically beautiful and resemble a chamber from Game of Thrones. The old sandstone house is tastefully decorated in Berber, african and Jewish ornaments - It feels like a museum. The rooftop is a wonderful place to perch and watch the pelicans nesting whilst enjoying the buffet breakfast. The staff are wonderful and it feels like a family home. Such a nice retreat and only a short stroll from the Old Jewish Synagogue museum, The Taourirt Kasbah and rooftop restaurants. There is parking about 50m away and a porter can be organised to help with the luggage.

Verified reviewThe accommodation itself is really beautiful. The Riad and the staff are really lovely as well. The owner is a really wonderful, pleasent and lovely woman.
Unfortunately we found the breakfast very plain and the bread very bad like it was a few days old. The day after we checked in two families arrived with children and were left to run through the Riad, yelling and screaming and we seem to be the only ones who told them to stop. The parents nor the owners of the property seem to worry that much. Unfortunately there was also problem with our laundry that they cleaned where we lost a few pieces. The owner did kindly wave our city tax fee and the fee of the laundry as an apology.

Dinner was quite expensive, 20 euros per person! The cook and server was a moody and complaining woman. However the owner and her daughter were very nice.

Verified reviewBeautiful hotel inside. Spacious . But cracks in the walls everywhere, didn't feel like it was going to hold up
Staff were very slow with check in. I have to chase them 3 times to return my passports . Staff smoking inside the hotel - horrified ! You can hear the next door neighbours as if they were in the same room. Staff and neighbours kept us up all night talking so loud ! Breakfast food wasn't great at all. Hotel location was far out the way and we kept being harassed by the kids outside. Didn't feel super safe
