How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLovely Riad in a quieter part of the mediana. The staff were helpful and provided lots of info on things to do in the area.
The stairs were narrow and steep and there is no lift, so not suitable for anyone who is not too mobile.

Verified reviewStayed for 4 nights with my family. The location is fantastic, close enough to hit the markets yet quiet enough to get a great night's sleep. Beds are very comfortable and rooms/bathrooms a great size. Breakfast was very tasty and lots of it! Very clean too. Thoroughly enjoyed staying here.

Verified reviewVery clean and very friendly. The beds were clean and comfortable and the shower was warm uncomfortable to use. We received clean towels on a daily basis and the room was cleaned to a very high standard on a daily basis. I would not class the venue or facility as a hotel, but a very very good bed and breakfast. the breakfast consisted of different types of Moroccan bread and there was plenty of breakfast to set you up for the day. The staff were very attentive to our needs. The location is inside the walls of the Medina giving us the opportunity to have a live experience of the local culture and observe how the Moroccans lived within the confinement of the Medina.
The hotel I believe as a very good bed and breakfast at most definitely does not spa facilities. The spa consisted of a room where you could more than likely receive head and back massage.

The place was calm but a bit scary at night, couldnt walk on my own.

Verified reviewThis was a great hotel, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was lovely. The room was nice and big, with space to hang clothes, and a big bathroom with a really nice shower.
It was a little bit hard to find, and the mattress on the bed was very hard.

Verified reviewRiad Amiran could be a calming green oasis within the myriad chaos that is Marrakesh; it almost makes it …when the husband and wife team leave it to their staff to interact with the guests.
Unfortunately the owners seem to have no empathy for their guests and from my experience look to extract as much cash from their guests as possible for the very minimum they can get away with providing. had a fabulous time when away from the Riad; It’s such a shame that my experience was tainted by the poor management and truly offensive attitude of the owners of Riad Amiran.
I have already responded to your friends, KIM & RACHAEL regarding all that happened. I can see that your comment contradicts itself: "The second sentence appears to be in flat contradiction of the first." You said that the staff were very good, but you still scored them very low!!! Unfortunately, all that you said is untrue. You lot tried hard to get away with as much as you can but with no success. Our propriety have 0 tolerance to bad behaviour and disrespect to our staff. They have been treated unfairly with they way you have spoken to them. During your stay, you were demanding, ordering etc... Especially the night staff. He was terrified when you refused to pay him, and you ladies basically told him off for asking you on the last night to settle your bills. Once, my wife stood for herself and made you pay. You took it on us by writing these bad reviews, which we are not surprised. Thank you for your stays. And we wish you a very good luck somewhere else in future......

Thank you very much for your review. And taking the time to write.. we are family business. we take pride in our place and pride in looking after our customers. But unfortunately you are not that kind of customer we thought you are. Someone who is friendly, easy-going, and easy to satisfy. We treat you with respect, and we have welcomed you every step of the way during your stay in our place. But, it appears that you are not willing to pay for all things that you have used during your stay. You made our lives difficult, but we still tried very hard to make your stay enjoyable. I am sorry to hear about the noise you experienced.. About solo travels. We are fortunate enough that we always have solo travels. As we speak, we have coupe of solo females, never an issue or problems. Old Town marrakech is very safe and I promise you is the safest city by far.. its vibrant and lively. I am sorry to say that your review was based on disappointment that you couldn't get away with not paying and the way I asked you to pay for that you have used, and you refused claiming that you didn't have anything during your stay. I find it very rude and disgusting.

Verified reviewRyad Amiran SPA is a perfect choice to stay inside the hearth of the Médina Marrakech. The Ryad itself is beautiful , very comfortable, has a good restaurant and hammam, a roof top where you can see the amazing sunsets. Breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The staff is super friendly, they will help you in whatever you want : Hamman, restaurant bookings, taxi transfers, or buying the best argan oil, etc. I am very pleased with our stay at this specific guest house.
