How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewClean and welcoming riad in heart of the Medina. Nice room with good AC. Lovely roof top area for breakfast and evening. Breakfast was very good. The staff were really helpful and went above and beyond to help with boarding passes (have to be printed in Marrakesh) and an early breakfast.
It was a little hard to find first time but we just asked and easy when you know.

Verified reviewThe position is perfect, the breakfast very good.
We had to pay with cash, we didn't expect that; we managed, but actually we would have preferred to pay with credit card

Verified reviewLocation was great, right next to jemaa el-fnaa square.
The place was not clean. It had a strange netting across the bed, which had a lot of dust and was probably cleaned years ago. The toilet was extremely dirty, and we had to ask the receptionist to come and get it cleaned without and soap or shampoo. Lighting in the room was too low. The air conditioner was too old and slow for a big room, plus they didn't have a fan in the room when the temperature outside was 45 degrees. We had very tough too nights in this place

Verified reviewIt's okay, very nice and the staff in riad was very helpful, nice rooftop.
Only thing is the guide we booked thru the riad, it was awful, the guide took as only from shop to shop preassure us to buy, we paid him 60€ and after 1 hour we wanted to go home but he continued, he even had a certification around his neck so it doesnt mean too much, so stay careful

Verified reviewThe Riad is in the perfect position to visit Marrakesh. The building and the room are in beautiful Maroccan style. The breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, including when we had some specific necessities and an emergency. The Riad offers options for day trips, which are very convenient: we took the one to Ait Ben Haddou and we were very satisfied. We definitely recommend!

Verified reviewThe host was very friendly and helpful, and the location was amazing! Not super luxurious, but the airco worked and the breakfast on the rooftop was very nice, so everything you need for a stay in Marrakech!
It's apparent that it's a bit older, but everything worked, so nothing really.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was delightful, very yummy and in a beautiful location The staff is very friendly and helpful, they helped us to find someone to carry our luggage after the checkout
The room was quite small but enough for a stay of one night. The location was hard to find, we had to leave the car 10 minutes walking from the hotel and had to find our own parking place as it is not included in the hotel. Luckily we found a nice man who helped us with the luggage otherwise we would have struggled to carry everything and also find our way through the narrow streets

Verified reviewI did not know what to expect, but I was so pleased by how welcomed I felt. I felt like a welcomed guest. The care and support were so beautiful navigating a new and unfamiliar city. The Riad is beautiful, tucked away around the corner from all the action. Less than 5min walk, and you are at the center square, but the place is quiet. The rooms are comfortable, and the AC is so welcomed on the hot nights. The big room was a bit dark but the smaller room was cozy and with a nice window. They had the best recommendation for anything. They arranged the 3 day tour to Sahara, which is a must do! Also, the Hamman is absolutely a necessary experience at a very good price.
The first room i stayed in was beautiful but a bit dark.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent, easy to find, close to everything you might need, and situated in a quiet neighborhood, which made it easy to relax. The staff were very kind and welcoming, and the breakfast was very tasty! They have cameras everywhere which made it feel safer as well.
The cleanliness wasn’t quite up to standard, and it would’ve been better if more towels were provided.

Verified reviewWe had a wonderful stay at the Riad. The location was perfect—close to the souks and the main square. The building had that lovely antique feeling, full of character. The staff were incredibly kind and considerate, always ready to help with anything we needed. Since we had a trip planned and couldn’t have breakfast at the Riad, they surprised us with a bag of snacks and water to take with us. It was such a thoughtful gesture and really appreciated. Highly recommended!
The bathroom could’ve used a deeper clean, but the beds were comfy—and we had an early wake-up call from a very enthusiastic bird around 5 a.m. Overall, a lovely stay!
