How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI liked the traditional bathroom and the comfortable bed. The hosts were nice. The location was fairly convenient due to close proximity to multiple touristic sights.
The road on which Riad Salma is located was very busy and, due to Moroccan traffic, it was sometimes difficult to access the entrance. The small pool in the middle of Riad was close to my room, so I could hear people jumping in and swimming while I was trying to get some rest. I could also hear knocking on the front door and people speaking in the "lounge". The pool didn't seem clean enough that I would swim in it.

This is the worst place I have ever entered as a traveller. The pictures there doesn't reflect the state of the place. This is a scam and I wonder why Booking is still keeping it on the platform. The rooms are dusty and smelly. The heat that approaches you when you are getting to your room is unbearable. Really stuffy and not worth a place to be posted as an accomodation for gullible people who do not know to stay. I and my family went there and we left the next day. I am still waiting to be refunded by Booking, because this is fraudulence. We made four days booking and our money has been collected for nothing. Top of this, there were no supply of water and the receptionist had to go out to buy. When asked of the price of the water He collected 5x the actual price. I sent booking a help message while I was there and no one answered. No one should bother going to the place. You will be shocked to see the gate that enters to the apartment, it looks like a prison gate, with motorcycles Infront of it which got us scared at the beginning as we were shocked by what was happening there.

Verified reviewGreat hospitality with amazing staff, so helpful and kind. Nice breakfast. The location is great for walking around, no problem with finding it. Nice terrace to enjoy breakfast or sit at night.
We had a very small bathroom with an uncomfortable sink above the toilet and there was an unpleasant smell from the bathroom especially after the shower.

No window so it gets suffocating and smelly, no facilities, no dustbin, water gets collected all over the place as the shower doesn’t have any curtains. Pool water was not clean to swim

My room was very noisy as it was next to the road. Bathroom was terrible very tiny. Sink was over toilet. No hair dryer in every room, I booked single beds and people had to share a double beds that is not what I booked.

Verified reviewThe Riad had a very traditional feel to it. It was run by very friendly and helpful staff who always went the extra mile. Breakfast was authentic and gave the energy you needed for the day. The rooms also did the job and toilet facilities satisfactory.
If I were to critique it. It was extremely hard to find giving it being on the main road, it was also very noisy at night with traffic noise within the Riad.

Riad is very small And they charged 50 moroccan dirham in the end towards checkout which was not there in the bill or app as it was fully prepaid. They said it’s tourist taxes, but nothing was mentioned in booking .com while booking confirmations. Also when we tried to go out to the main square at night, the staffs said it’s closed but we still went and found that the souk is open till late night .

Verified reviewThe location of the riad is great, just a few minutes' walk from the city center and all the main attractions. The host and staff are very nice and welcoming.
It was a bit cold in the room even though we had the heating. The bathroom was lacking of some extra shelves and/or hangers. Sometimes was a bit too loud.
