How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThey cancelled our breakfast request after we reserved it due to their chef was sick
The Mountain View they said, is a ghetto view, open our window and balcony, there’s an animal open area right in front. Goats, streets cats, many street dogs fighting n yellowing especially after mid night the whole time, and their main base were right in front of our hostel room. The other window if it’s open, then we hear the whole building’s toilet n people talking any sound. And it’s hot and not even a fan let alone the airconditioner. Nothing. Also no hair dryer and the toilet is shared by other rooms. From the website they made it very hiddle most of people think it’s in the room privately.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us ! Let’s clear up a couple of things first — no breakfast was cancelled during your stay. Our team is here every morning, ready to prepare it fresh whenever you’d like. About the goats, cats, dogs, and midnight soundtracks outside your window — welcome to village life in Taghazout! This is something every place here lives with, and part of the charm (or the adventure, depending on how much you like goats). That said, we’ve listened to your feedback: we’re actually closing for the entire month of August to make improvements, including double-glazing every window to help keep the noise out, and installing fans in every room so the summer heat is a bit easier to handle. Regarding bathrooms — yes, they’re shared. On Booking.com, we can’t hide that information, as we can only tick the boxes they provide. A few guests have been unsure in the past, so your review will help make it crystal clear for future travellers. The truth is, the magic of Taghazout’s traditional houses comes with a few quirks: small, multi-level homes, lots of closeness, and not the world’s best insulation. But we work hard to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible while keeping the authenticity and warmth that make Tazuri what it is. Warm regards (and maybe a wave from a passing goat), The Tazuri Team

Verified reviewLocation was great and the rooftop was lovely. The staff were helpful.
We got the superior double room and it wasn’t that clear that it would be a shared bathroom. However it was alright in the end but we were a little surprised. All good otherwise
Thank you for your kind words about our location, rooftop, and team — we’re so glad you enjoyed them! We appreciate your feedback about the shared bathroom. On Booking.com we indicate this in the listing, but we understand it can sometimes be missed, and we’ll make sure to highlight it even more clearly for future guests. We’re happy to hear it worked out fine in the end and that the rest of your stay went well. The Tazuri Team

Verified reviewIt's a good place with higher standards then other hostels. But comes at price. I liked very good internet, it was running very smoothly almost all around the building. Although the place for work is without windows next to a room where other people sleep, so it always seem you're waking up someone when having a call in the morning. Acoustics kinda sucks and there is a peeling old paint from the ceiling. The flies are very annoying there too. Can you not get some basic fly protection for 1 euro and hang it somewhere? It's not a rocket science. My friend worked in pants and a hoodie so they dont touch him all the time. Then there are chairs chairs are not even comfortable for 1 minute. Surely with how much you charge it can be upgraded very quickly. Showers and toilets are cleaned every day which is definitely nice. People working there are nice, but you dont expect anything less. It is fairly social hostel, terrace is nice place.. although at the time we were there it was under reconstruction, so we couldnt use it properly, and kinda book because of that, no refund or free breakfast offered for inconvenience, for 5/8 days, it's kinda sad. LOCATION: There is no sign on Google maps btw but the place is legit, but shouldn't be a problem to put it there Google maps, people use it in Western if you want their western money, just put it up on there. It's located on the hill so you better be at least in a little shape, however close to the city. The VIBE: it is a fairly social hostel, with a dinner and breakfast - as paid options. So you can meet other people there. But we only booked that once or twice, as there are plenty of nice places to eat other days and people were rather boring. Kinda an effect of an more expensive place attracting more boring / instagram people. And occasional laptop guy like me lol.
Incredible noise in the night around the house, forcing to sleep in earplugs and eventually closed window. Random guys going up on motorbikes around midnight, sometimes dogs barking all night or goats making literally yelling like humans all night. Definitely not recommend to those with light sleep. Price is definitely steep for Morocco.
Hey, thanks for the detailed review. We genuinely appreciate the feedback (and your creative approach to fighting flies in full hoodie gear 😄). Let’s walk through a few points then. Yes, the workspace doesn’t have windows, and believe it or not, many guests actually find it helps them focus better. We did have a sea view once… but people got so distracted they forgot to answer their emails, so we closed it off. (Okay, not really — but imagine!) The acoustics? Not ideal, we agree. We’re open to any clever ideas that don’t involve tearing the building down. As for the flies, well, welcome to village life! We’re surrounded by nature, goats, and open air. Some days are worse than others, but your €1 fly trap tip is definitely appreciated. The chairs? Stylish, yes. Comfortable for long calls? Maybe less so. But the space was designed mainly for travelers who want to relax and connect — not exactly a Silicon Valley satellite office. We still do our best to support remote workers where we can. About the terrace — we’re sorry the timing of renovations impacted your stay. We’re always working to improve the space, which means sometimes guests catch us mid-upgrade. Hopefully next time, you’ll be enjoying the stars from a finished terrace. Regarding the “boring people” remark, we have to say—everyone’s vibe is different, and honestly, calling our guests boring feels a bit unfair. Some nights are lively with conversations and music, others quieter with people focusing on work or relaxing. It’s a mix, and that diversity is part of what makes the place interesting. We don’t pick the crowd, but we do appreciate all kinds of travelers who come through. As for the location — yes, it’s on a hill, but that’s part of the charm with the beautiful ocean view. We’re not on Google Maps yet because of some technical issues, but we always provide detailed directions so you don’t need a sherpa to get to the hostel Now, about the price and that “Western money” comment. Let’s be honest: expecting everything to be cheap just because we’re in Morocco isn’t just about money — it reflects a mindset. Quality has a cost here too. We pay our staff fairly, maintain the place with care, and offer services that aren’t always easy to provide in this kind of setting. Wanting a great experience for very little, just because you’re in a non-Western country, is a way of thinking that deserves to be questioned. It’s not about guilt, it’s about fairness and perspective. And finally, if you felt the service was “good but not above expectations,” maybe that’s also because energy is mutual. Our team is warm and generous, but also human. Respect goes both ways, and sometimes when it’s lacking, people hold back. Still, we wish you great future travels — and who knows, maybe one day you’ll come back to a quiet room, a finished terrace, and a fly trap named after you.

Verified reviewThe place is very lovely and Khalid and his team are very welcoming : he always was attentive to us and provided great excursions! There are many activities provided from the hostels and the place is well located within Taghazout. The rooms are good and practical
It was not very clear that the bathroom would not be private in the Booking advert so we were surprised about it (it generally is mentionned in the title of the room) If the people coming late or early are not careful, we hear them a lot from the room
Thank you so much for your kind words about our place, location, and team — Khalid and the crew will be delighted to know you enjoyed both the welcome and the excursions! We’re glad you made the most of the activities and found the rooms practical. We appreciate your feedback about the shared bathroom. On Booking.com, this is indicated in the listing, though we understand it can sometimes be missed, and we’ll work on making it even clearer for future guests. As for the noise from late or early arrivals, this can sometimes happen in traditional Taghazout houses with their open layouts. We always encourage guests to be mindful, and we’re currently changing all the windows to double-glazed ones to improve sound insulation and make stays even more comfortable in the future. Verified reviewRelaxed and not too crammed
the warmth of the dorm with just one streerwindow but then one can sleep comfortably on the 2 roofterraces
Thank you for your feedback — we’re happy to hear you enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the space, and that the roof terraces made for a comfortable sleep under the Taghazout sky. Good news - for the dorm, we’re adding two fans to keep it cooler and more comfortable, even on warmer nights. We look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy them!

Verified reviewI had a wonderful stay at Tazuri Surf House in Taghazout! The place is exactly as pictured, clean rooms, comfortable beds, and located in a quiet area just a short walk from the beach. The view from the terrace over the ocean is absolutely stunning, and the cozy decor up there makes it the perfect place to relax after a day of surfing. The staff were incredibly helpful, especially Sjors, who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed , from surf lessons and breakfast to organizing our airport transfer. He was super communicative and always ready to help. The services provided are top-notch, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I would definitely come back here!
