How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful and unique property and the loveliest staff
We weren’t able to order the usual lunch offering and there were limited options in the village, but this was due to the time of year
Hello dear, Thank you for your review and your enjoying Tagadert Lodge! Concerning food we propose only to our overnight guests and because there are no other alternative in the village, whether it is low or high season, we daily go to the local market to buy fresh goods and our usual proposal is always the same : 1-course snack for lunch and 3-courses diner in the evening. You have been served usual Tagadert Lodge snack for lunch, hope it was OK for you, the staff was ready if you needed other menu. Very kind regards, Alexandra and Tagadert team.

Verified reviewTagadert Lodge is delightful!! A true little oasis, stunning decor, spotless, and just a wonderfully tranquil vibe. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, so many little comfortable areas to sit and relax and read and just unwind. Staff couldn't be more attentive and helpful, with nothing but friendly smiles. Just loved the family of tortoises 🐢 chilling around the pool area.
Everything was perfect 👌
Thank you for your review dear! All the staff and myself are very grateful that you liked Tagadert Lodge that much! It was a real pleasure for the team meeting you, See you nex time, Alexandra.

Verified reviewA beautiful hotel. Room was beautiful and full of natural materials and decor, bathroom of dreams. Staff were so lovely. My brother had some breathing problems through the night and they were out their way to get him to a pharmacy and back. Honestly couldn’t fault anything. Food was incredible.

Verified reviewWhat a hidden gem! If you want to experience a real peace of mind - you found your place. Located just 35 mins away from hectic Marrekesh, Tagadert Lodge offered us way more that we had expected. Beautiful and coherent design influenced by moroccan architecture with modern, cozy and unique sense of style. Even tough we only stayed for 2 nights we managed to reset your mind. Local village, its sound, views (go for a walk to fall in love with gorgeous mountain view), friendly and helpful staff and great homemade food - this place has it all. We are glad we didn't plan any activities - this place is definitely THE experience of its own. We enjoyed exploring every corner (while chasing the sun), playing chess, reading a book and going for a stroll. We will definitely get back one day.
Thank you so much Maja! We really appreciate your enthousiasm about our little berber paradise! Your pictures are beautiful, Tagadert Lodge staff was very happy to meet you, Kind regards, Alexandra

Verified reviewWe loved our stay! Although the weather was not on our side, we read our books by the pool, enjoyed our meals by the fireplaces and bathed ourselves in the most beautiful concrete bathtub. The place is stunning, twice the size we thought it would be from the photos. It almost felt like we were staying at some friend’s house as we had the whole place for ourselves. We went for walks outside the lodge and we were greeted by lots of happy dogs and friendly little kids. If you greet everyone they will greet you back, wave and smile at you. ( I do not understand the negative comments I read on previous reviews about the area) The meals were good, hearty, and noticeably fresh. Although some days we felt it was not enough for both of us. The staff was always attentive and very welcoming. We would definitely come back!
Not a negative comment, but maybe a bit more diversity with the breakfast?
Thank you so much! We really appreciate your feeling about Tagadert Lodge. How nice you are towards the village and its inhabitants! You will be very welcome whenever you want to come back! Alexandra and team.

Verified reviewThe place is just amazing. The rooms, the services, all the corners to chill, beakfast and dinners next to the fireplace, reading in the terrace with the sun and all the views... (it was too chill those days to enjoy the pool but also should be really nice). You can see they put a lot of effort and dedication on the decoration and the details to create this amazing environment. And the staff they are so kind and nice you will feel at home from the first moment. We had an amazing days there.
So happy you enjoyed Tagadert Lodge! Thank you for your beautiful review, all the staff was very happy to read it! Take care of yourselves! Alexandra

Verified reviewThe Lodge is in a remote village, a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds! Once we arrived we were greeted with a tour and some mint tea. The Lodge exceeded our expectations - beautifully kept, wonderful staff, lots of amenities to keep our children occupied and activities nearby at Agafay desert. We visited the donkey sanctuary (be prepared to be greeted with lots of excited dogs!), camel riding and sunset dinner in Agafay. We also had lunch and dinner at the lodge and it was delicious! We didnt have a car and opted for taxis (used booking.com to arrive and depart) and local drivers during our stay. A wonderful stay and we hope to return one day soon!

Verified reviewThe property is so beautiful! It looks like something from an interior design magazine. There are so many lovely little areas for chilling, the rooms are beautiful and even fires to light on colder days. The staff are so kind and welcoming and you feel very at home there. The food was lovely and the whole experience was great value. Such a beautiful hotel.
We struggled with the area, the hotel is so beautiful but there is a stark contrast between the hotel and the condition of the village outside. The village isn’t somewhere you particularly want to walk around. You either need a car or be happy to spend quite a while in taxis. However, I cannot stress enough what a super job everyone at the hotel does.
Dear Madam, Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay. As far as the village is concerned, you have probably forgotten that this region was hit by an earthquake last year. The Tagadert El-Kadi Douar is being rebuilt, and it takes a little indulgence and a lot of empathy to understand that the villagers have the right to improve their homes, while respecting their environment. I think that the slight aesthetic nuisance that you mention is nothing compared to the event that they have suffered and in no way detracts from the hospitality and kindness that characterise Berber villages. Thank you for highlighting the unique and relaxing character of Tagadert Lodge, I'm pleased that you were satisfied with your stay with us, Alexandra.

Verified reviewWe found the staff exceptional: helpful, friendly and warm-hearted. We loved spending some time with Bouchra in the kitchen who showed us how to make a chicken tagine. The food was delicious throughout our stay and we were sad to say goodbye. Thank you to Bouchra, Badr, Simo and Loubna. I hope that we have spelled their names correctly. What a great team. The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful with plant-filled courtyards and terraces - great places to relax.

Verified reviewWe loved our stay at Tagadert Lodge and will definitely be back. It is so homely with many touches of luxury. Simo and the team made us feel so comfortable and relaxed, the food was delicious, everything we asked for was provided with the biggest smile. They are so welcoming, the whole place is understated yet really elegant. It’s quite intimate 5 rooms, there’s a pool that gets sun all day, in a pretty garden, with three little tortoises that roam around happily. An excellent place to escape the hustle bustle and totally relax, yet still close enough to all the key attractions. Simo arrange camel riding for us and you can also do quad bikes and hiking etc etc. we had our own car so we could get around independently, this was super easy, it’s also possible to get taxi transfers.
It would be helpful to have mirrors in the bedrooms to help getting ready and doing our hair a bit easier. But there are mirrors in the bathrooms so it’s not the biggest issue.
All Tagadert Lodge staff was very happy to meet you and to make your stay quiet and confortable. Hope to see you again very soon, Alexandra and staff

Lots of space to chill out, enjoy a fire when cold or use the pool when warm. great location to go into the desert and ride camels, or go quad biking. The hosts are wonderful and cooked such nice food. Highly recommend.

Verified reviewQuiet and really charming lodge. They have taken great details in the decorations, the outdoor place with the beautiful trees and all the fire places was really great. We had dinner in the evening in front of the fire place which was lovely. The bed was very comfortable with really soft bed linens. The water pressure and bathtub was great. Friendly staff. Easy to communicate with the owner, who responded quickly to our messages. Really cute turtles in the backyard! Big living room where they provide some board games and a TV for a movie night etc. Really good and fresh breakfast!
The location is off the beaten track, which can be great for an authentic experience but also makes it a bit harder in terms of planning when you do not have a car. For us it was not a problem as we easily walked many km a day, but this is something you should have in mind. They provide lunch and dinner for an additional price of 220 dirham per person for dinner. The owner told us beforehand that outside food is forbidden, which we found a bit odd considering it is so far from restaurants/markets and sometimes you want a fruit or some biscuits. Also, there are lots of stray dogs in the area, which should not be a problem but good to keep in mind.
Hello, thank you for your review and stay at Tagadert Lodge.
