Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo nonsense, clean & friendly place to stay. Has a roof terrace with views over the Corniche and beyond. The kitchen is very handy with hob, kettle & fridge. Maybe take some disposable cutlery. One thing that I would point out is that it's REALLY EASY TO FIND. Enter the Medina on Rue Portugal at the Rue d'Amerique then quite simply KEEP TURNING RIGHT AT EVERY OPTION.

IrelandThe mattresses were very hard As a female a full length mirror would have been lovely especially as it was a deluxe room Cleanliness levels not great, but again, for the money I paid I wouldn’t ask for anymore, once you are okay with this and have budget travelled before there should be no issues
The location was great and for the price we paid I feel that it was a very reasonable accommodation. There was construction going on right above our heads I left it until about 12:30am to say anything but once I did it was immediately stopped which was great!! Easy check in and out Rooftop terrace was very nice

ItalyThe place is in the old medina, a bit tricky to find but definitely creepy in the night because you need to go through different alleys full of weird people to reach it. I wouldn't advise it for solo-travellers. The window didn't work properly.
The room was nice and comfortable, and the cleaning level was ok, also in the bathroom. The location is close to the sea.

United KingdomI self-cater, and the kitchen wasn't adequate to do that. Also, the wifi didn't stretch to my room, which was a shame. I like a hard bed, but these were super hard, and the room was pretty dark.
I appreciated being met from the road to help find the accommodation, and the friendliness and communication prior to arriving and if I needed anything during my stay, the location was ideal, and the view from the terrace and shared areas was superb. I felt safe, and I enjoyed the stay despite some minor things.

Romaniathe downstairs toilet smell and having a window that look straight in the street not a good idea!!! because they can easily see you form outside. some matresses were like rocks but it's ok for 1 night.
Excellent location in the heart of the old town, close to the beach and all places to visit in the city , the hostel staff was very friendly on the first day they took us to the beach by car and showed us the best way to not get lost in the streets of the old town of tanger. the rooftop view was stunning!!!

BelgiumSome small changes could improve the comfort, like coat rack in the room and bathroom to hang some clothes and your towel. Also a bin is necessary. And also solve the ants problem. A curtain in front of the window, to keep the light out. Signs to indicate the hostel. During the night there's some noise coming from the street and also inside the hostel. The matress was not the most comfortabel but ok for one night.
Taking in consideration the price I've paid, 21 euro for a single room with shared bathroom, it was not bad for a hostel in Tanger. Tanger is a bit more expensive. Breakfast was included. There's no airco, but Tanger cools down at night, so it didn't bother me. Beautiful view from the roofterrace. Ilyas was very friendly. The hostel in general was quite clean.

SpainIt´s difficult to find the first few times as nothing to indicate that it´s a hostel and the first few days we had to knock to get in before they gave us a key. The man did wait for us on the corner the first time and sent us the location via whatsapp but I didn´t have internet. You have to go down many narrow alley ways to get there and my children were a bit scared at night as smells of hashish etc. They told us to use showers in reception that didn´t look very private but luckily we found a bathroom upstairs which was being shared by all the guests so sometimes a wait to enter and sometimes no toilet roll. The roof terrace had a lovely view but just a few plastic chairs to sit on, not as nicely set up as other hostels I´ve been in. The biggest upset, however, was that one night at approx 1am someone entered our room when we were sleeping (my daughter had forgotten to lock it when she came back from the bathroom), I jumped out of bed and quickly followed the person out to the corridor and it was a Moroccan woman who I hadn´t seen before. The next day I saw her in the hostel so I believe she was one of the staff but she didn´t speak English. Finally, there was no breakfast on offer so that is an error on this listing. It seems more like a private house with the rooms being rented out rather than an actual hostel.
The hostel is well placed as it is close to the medina and not far from the beach. The young men that worked there seemed nice. The view from the roof terrace is lovely. There is a kitchen with fridge and kettle. The price was good. The living room sofa was comfortable.

MoroccoExtremely bad service, we weren't treated as welcomed customers. As we have tried to contact the host beforehand regarding a special request and he did not answer. And when he did, he said " i did not hear the phone i was sleeping" it was 12:30 pm by then. We checked in at 1 pm, and the host just gave us the keys and tried to go, until i have informed him to show us around. He did not even attempt to welcome us. The smell in the room is unbearable, as the hostel in general is NOT hiegenic. Please bring your own covers if you ever decide to come there, very bad idea. Fast forward the kitchen is lacking essential items. and the worst of all is the false promise of providing breakfast in the morning. as we did not receive it the day after. And lastly, when we have tried to check out at 12pm mas indicated, the host did not answer us still. we decided to leave the tax payment money on the table ( found below in the picture) and leave the keys inside the house and leave.
nothing, the view on the second floor is nice, but sitting there is extremely unhiegenic.
