How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewClean, well equipped kitchen, exceptionally nice shower, the woman who runs the hostel is very easygoing and helpful. Fair price. Nice armchair in the room, functional lockers, friendly ambiance. Good breakfast place (Pizzeria Calabria) a couple of blocks away.
Had difficulty finding the place. First Google Maps sent me on a wild goose chase to a completely wrong location. When I finally got there (after walking almost an hour instead of the 16 minutes it should have been) it’s in a big block of flats with no sign, and I still had to keep asking people for help. Only other complaint is that there’s not much in the way of hanging out space: Just the kitchen and a tiny sort of balcony where people go to smoke.

There's just one shower for all the people and two toilets which are not 100% in proper condition nor clean. Also the common areas are nice but the fridge, kitchen and counters are very dirty.

We said that we will wait for you until midnight (and that is against the rules because people sleep in shared rooms and it is not nice to wake them up in the middle of the night) the staff waited for you until 1 am even though their working hours are until 10 pm and you wanted to come after 2 am, if you are already an experienced traveler you should know the timetable and in a situation where you arrive late book a hotel or hostel with a private reception that works 24 hours, it is rude to come to a shared room in the middle of the night and expect the staff to wait for you all night and wake up the whole room, I don't even know how you have the right to leave a review when you didn't even show up so you don't know anything about cleanliness, location and other things that you gave the lowest rating

My friend and I stayed there the night of the 15th of august. There was a huge fight in the hostel between two russian guys and a guy pretending to be the owner. The guests were drunk but my opinion not aggressive. The other guy beat them really hard snd kick them out of the hostel. We didnt sleep at all. The morning after the real owner of the hostel was really sorry and gave us a refound. It is possible that the hostel is a nice place when the lady is there. However there are reviews of the 15th of august giving 10 to this hostel and i can assure you all the other guests were scared and mad. THESE REVIEWS ARE FAKE
that was the only night when I wasn't around and I didn't control the situation in the hostel, alcohol is otherwise prohibited, I don't know why the guy who kicked out the guest introduced himself as the owner when he was one of the guests, the drunk guests insulted each other under the influence of alcohol and that's why there was a fight but in front of the hostel, I came in the morning to apologize to the guests and return the money, but a guest from Turkey from your room because of my anxiety and sadness had a lot of empathy and he wrote the review himself because he felt bad that all my efforts would go down the drain because of guests I can't choose. I took one day off from the beginning and something like that happened, thank God no one was hurt, everything ended well, but sometimes situations happen in hotels and hostels beyond the control of the owners. I am very sorry for your bad experience and as for my hostel, it will never happen again.

Verified reviewLocation is great, the room is of a decent size, the kitchen works, there's A/c both in rooms and common area. In general, the owner is helpful and nice.
The place is unkempt, it definitely needs more love to be nice (like use of appropriate size of trash bags, place some trash cans in bathroom, clean the drains, etc). There's no sheet cover for the duvet, so it's just reused bare. The fridge was barely working, things did not were as cold as they should be inside it, and also a bit dirty. The kitchen could be a little bit better equiped.

There is no sign, so it was very difficult for me to get into the hostel.

This place was soooo dirty and stinky, I didn't want to use the kitchen or the bathroom, it was disgusting. It hadn't been cleaned for a while. The bottom beds do not have enough room - the top bed is so low down! It's impossible to sit on the bed and even going to bed was hard because of the small gap. Also the rooms are no longer as on the photos - they have put extra beds in so there is no space. Very disappointing, especially considering the surprisingly high review score. It is not worth it.
we put one extra bed just for that day becouse I had some overbooked beds by my mistake but we removed that's bed day after ,thank you anyway for your comment we will do our best to improve everything

Verified reviewThe hostel is centrally located. The central bus station is approx. 25 walking min. away; grocery stores nearby. The lady who owns the owns the place is very friendly and attentive. Wifi is stable. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen available. Recommend it!
To improve: More attention should be given to the cleanliness; The utensils in the kitchen were not that many; pots were missing too.

Legally there is a problem here..1 shower for 16 beds. Absolutely terrible, this is nothing more than an apartment converted into a cramped, dirty, unhygienic Hostel
If people respect the rule of using big bathroom for 20 minutes everyone will have a time , and small bathroom is always available for urgent use , but be objective why you rated porly location becouse is in city center ? Unhygienic: The major ick was there is no top sheet or duvet cover for the beds. Guest after guest are likely sharing the duvet without a sheet. However, I phoned for another sheet and the manager provided a sheet within 30 seconds. Other guests were not so lucky. Another guest complained of itchiness from using a duvet without a cover. The manager did confirm the duvets were regular washed. But there is no way it's possible to wash the duvets each time with the high turnover of guests. The large bathroom is nice, but good luck getting in there with frequent use by guests. The other bathroom is grim and looks unclean. There is a plastic toilet freshener on the sink tap (please tell me it was never inside the toilet bowl!) There is no soap provided in the small bathroom. Hard to find: Even after reading all the comments, and taking screenshots of the door I found it hard to get in. The manager didn't answer her phone. Tip.. if the door looks slightly different to the photo, walk around to the other side of the building. Pretty sure someone stole my charging cable. - just a word of warning to keep everything in the locker! Overall: I would not recommend. Apparently there isnt much option for other hostels. Do yourself a favour and get somewhere nice. Or skip Pogderica all together. Truely, you won't be missing much.
Overall if you want a better stay always book a hotel ... everyone knows what conditions are hostels even tho as owners we try our best to stay as clean as possible but this also depends on our clients and self hygiene so please don't blame us .... so always remember what you pay for is what you get ... and compared to other hostels to mine for this price we are the (cleanest).
