How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe stayed 2 nights as a family of 4 (children age 5 and 8) and had a good experience. We walked up during a sunny and warm afternoon. With breaks it took us around 3 hours. Warmly welcomed upon arrival and shown to our little huts. Clean and cosy. We Joined dinner(fish and goulash), good food and large portions. Cold evening, Cosy and warm in the eating area. Afterwards we played multiple games (available at the camp). During the night a storm with Lots of rain. Little houses Well isolated and waterproof. 🙂. Earplugs came in handy during storm. Good breakfast. Large portion. Options to have lunch sandwich. Multiple Walks and viewpoints available in the area. Next evening we had pie and vegetable Rice. Drinkable water available. Full camp clean and well maintained. Hosts kind, friendly, and relaxed. Breakfast included. Food we paid between 12 and 15 euro/plate. Sodas 3 euro. We had a great stay and experience. We highly recommend. Children enjoyed the campground and all the games. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality

Verified reviewAmazing stay by the mountains . Everything was very clean and the sleep place really comfortable. The fish dinner was gorgeous . Perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature.
Nothing. Everything was perfect. TO get there you cross the forest and you must go up during 1,5 h , but they also organized transfers if preferred

Verified reviewWe had a fantastic 3 night stay at the camp. We hiked up there with our not so light backbacks, which took us about 2h from the lake, but was definitely manageable. Otherwise they offer a transport for 30€. The Camp is in a beautiful location with stunning views and gives of a calm, relaxing energy. The sleep houses are rather small but absolutely fine for sleeping and they have a couple of shelfes so you can store your stuff. The common area in the restaurant is great for evening hangouts and playing cards or something. There you also can charge your phones and if you want you can book wifi for 3€ per person for your stay. You also can get dinner (15€ per person). We strongly recommend the Fish-trout, it was amazing! Lunchpackets are available too, though we didn't take them so can't say anything about it. And as of July 2025 the pool seen in the pictures is there again! (read a comment before that at a time it wasn't) Overall Dajana is a friendly and very helpful host. We definetly recommend staying there if in the national park!
Sleeping houses are rather small, which may could be a bit inconvenient for taller people, we (about 160cm) were just about able to stand upright in there. But you probably only gonna be in there for sleeping anyway and otherwise either outside or in the common room.

Verified reviewAmazing location in the hills above biogradska lake, one of a kind experience! Very peaceful. The host was very friendly and welcoming and provided delicious breakfasts. Highly recommend Make sure to keep an eye out for the shortcuts on the walk up and down to save time!
No kitchen for guests but the host did allow us to use theirs for one night of our stay - best to bring your own cooking gear up if staying longer than a night.

Verified reviewLittle paradise up in the mountains. Great place to start hiking or to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Nice hosts. They try to give you the best experience.
It is getting a bit too commercial for me, which I didn’t expect up here. They charge a lot for drinks and food. They weren’t transparant to me and charged me too much. It is cheaper of you don’t book beforehand and you just ask for a place to stay. Paid WiFi. No sockets in the Kutak available, only in the shared room (but here is a lamp!).
I am glad that you were our guest. I hope you knew when you booked where you were going. You have to understand that it is a mountain and there is no normal electricity that everything is powered by solar panels. Some guests bring a hair dryer or something similar that draws a lot of electricity, so for that reason no sockets are installed in the cottages. You say that we charge a lot for food and drinks... only you say (one person out of 100 guests) I respect your opinion. Yes, we charge for internet and you can see that when you see our profile. Internet is satellite and it is expensive, if you understand what is satellite 😊

Verified reviewWe stayed one night at Camp Janketic and there is no doubt it is an absolutely beautiful place to spend the night with great views and hikes nearby. The flower meadows in the area are unbelievably gorgeous! The person hosting was friendly and their food is home-cooked and tasty. (Breakfast was included, dinner was 15€ each, drinks extra). However, (and I think this is fair to say - although I notice the host comes back quite fiercely in response to any criticism) I originally booked the camp without realising there was a 7 km, quite incessantly uphill hike (1 hour 45 mins) or a 40€, 4x4 one-way pick up charge from the parking next to Biogradska Lake to the camo. This wasn't overly obvious in the 'marketing'. I did eventually realise this was the case and decided to still go ahead as the reviews are so great. It was quite a hike and even a younger couple we spoke to admitted to it being a bit tougher than they had anticipated - especially with luggage. Fortunately most of it is in the shade of trees. On arrival you see cooling drinks. It would be so lovely if as part of the price you were greeted with a cool drink - or even a glass of water - after a tough hike! Obviously all the drinks cost but they are not marked with prices so maybe check before consuming. There is a small charge for WiFi. The 'pool' was empty. It is a shame that there are no tea or coffee making facilities or kitchen equipment of any kind in the common room. The only soft, relaxing space is the mattress in your sleeping shed (but that is me being fussy!) They keep your passports for the duration of you visit (which hasn't happened for ages in our extensive travels) which implies a lack of trust. Yes maybe the odd person is dishonest but I think I'd risk losing the odd payment to instill a sense of trust. The sleeping space is what we expected: a small wooden shed the size of a mattress and I could just about stand up in the middle but I am short.
It was our pleasure to host you. But there are probably some disagreements. First of all, when you booked, I sent you a message to which you did not reply, then another message and you did not reply to it. Tell me where you got that the transport is 40e (which is of course not true)-I didn't write you like that in the message Second, you had water as soon as you arrived and you could help yourself. To charge for drinks and food (certainly not included in the price with accommodation - which is also too cheap)You expect something free from this price, I don't think it's correct, but I appreciate your opinion. Regarding passports, we can take them and return them when checking out, I don't see that problem (passports have been returned to you) Passports stay with us due to check-in It's not a lack of distrust, just the rules !!!

Verified reviewStaying at Camp Janketic was a lovely experience. You get to fully immerse into nature. We enjoyed the hiking, the food and the company of other guests, while at the meantime there is enough space to take a moment for yourself. We stayed for two nights and would recommend a two or three night stay. A special shout-out to Dajana, she is the nicest host. If you love nature, definitely do not sleep on an opportunity to stay here!
