Reviews of Room with balcony Milan

The hosts were friendly, but I expected much more for the price. What mattered most to me was missing - and that is privacy! It’s a small room in their house, with their toilet! If I had known that before, I would never have booked it.

Sharing my space with them. They were smoking non-stop, and I cannot stand cigarette smoke. The smoke was coming into my room even though I had closed the door. I also didn't sleep well because they turned on the washing machine in the toilet - which was supposed to be mine "private bathroom" - at around 5 a.m.!

Milan and his mother are very welcomong and nice once you get to know them. They offered me biscuits and a glas of pomgranate juice at my arriva. I had nice chats with him the next morning (his mother doesn't speak English) around a cup of tea, and she even gave me some delicious priganice she just made to take with me on my bike trip ☺️ The room is big and quiet, the bed confortable. The view on the sea from the kitchen is nice. Non-smokers should know that they smoke inside the appartment, but you don't smell it in the room.

Extraordinary kindness of host

Reasons which I will further explain: 1. He did not tell me the room was not available as soon as I booked it 2. He said he would be waiting for me at the supermarket meet-up point on arrival, which he was not there when I got there 3. He is not honest about the location of his place as many reviewers have commented that what is listed is not the place 4. He did not help me get to the bus station as promised I made a booking the morning I was due to arrive when I departed by bus from Ulcinj, which was 3.5 hours away. I asked the host about directions on where to go since previous reviewers had said that the directions on Booking & Google maps were incorrect. Milan said don’t worry, that my room was ready and to take a taxi to Supermarket Voli in Topla 2. I thought that was strange because it was at the upper end of the block that was posted on Booking. I asked whether there were many stairs or a hill because I have a big luggage, and since he did not answer me, and it looked like it was close to the bus station (around a 15 minute walk), I decided to walk. Imagine my surprise when halfway through, I am encountering a road that goes up a hill. Also - it is pouring rain, so not the best start of the trip, but I haul my belongings up the road. I am waiting for 5-10 minutes at the supermarket looking for him. I had been in contact with him throughout my bus ride about when I would arrive, and he indicated he would be waiting for me. Finally he appears and says that some drunk girl came to his apartment the night before and so there was no room. I asked him why he did not let me know as soon as I booked so I could make other plans prior to arrival? (Also, the story did not make sense as initially upon booking he had told me my room was ready, and not once during my 3.5 hour bus ride did he indicate there was a problem.) He said that I could stay at his friend’s place for the same price.

Quick responsiveness of the host. Milan is a friendly and easy going man, and we had a good conversation.
