Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesDrinking water must be obtained daily from the registration building where they have ice & filtered water… bring your ice bucket or large water thermos cups to fill 1-2x a day. It could be a 5-10 mi. Walk depending on building location. The water is fine for brushing teeth but apparently everyone drinks bottled or specially filtered water. There are little grocery stores 10-15 min walk in Orient Village so could buy bottles of water there.
Breakfast was fine. Excellent wait staff service. Included breakfast was bread, pastries, yogurt, a coffee cake type product, coffee, expresso & tea. For $5 pp a day you can sign up on arrival for American breakfast.. bacon, eggs & hash brown or you can choose standalone delicious french toast or pancakes . Other things available on a menu for additional cost

United StatesAmazing location. Exceptional staff. Facilities are a little old but well maintained. The bed was a little too firm for me but my husband loved it. Pool shared by the villa was a lovely bonus. Easy parking right in front of your room. Quiet, safe, fantastic access to the beach and complimentary access to chairs/umbrellas at multiple beach bars. Hotel restaurant (L'Astrolabe) was phenomenal.

NetherlandsBreakfast quality and standard could be better. It's probably due to the fact that everything is imported. Extra charge for salty breakfast. This should be included as the room price is not cheap. The island is not cheap in general. So in a way, it is understandable. Furniture is a bit tired and deserves a makeover.
The Staff is extremely friendly, as in Saint Martin in general. Response is immediate and efficient. Location is excellent, you get access to free transats at 4 beach restaurants where the service is superior. Dont forget to tip the waiters as their salary is very low and cost of livng is high.

United KingdomBreakfast - for price of our stay breakfast was poor quality , inconsistent and minimal. Croissants stale sometimes, fruit always the same, nothing cooked was part of the breakfast deal within the price of the accommodation. Really disappointing. Our porch chairs were really uncomfortable. The bathroom was really dated. The 'kitchen' was underequipped. The beach restaurants did not open in the evening.

SwitzerlandThe power went out a few times while my husband was on work conference calls and the lighting could be improved in the living room: it's quite dark in there at night with only 3 dim table / floor lights.
The staff were all super nice and helpful. We loved L'Astrolabe and the breakfast, also the shower and the Figuier Fleur bath products provided. It's great that they have a two bedroom suite option, as we were travelling with my parents and it was great we could stay together! Excellent location, within walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants!

United StatesWhile all the facilities were clean and comfortable, some furnishings appeared to be a bit worn.
Beautiful beach, friendly and helpful staff, Astrolabe and Coco Beach restaurants were great. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. We had a suite,, which was quite spacious and comfortable. We also took advantage of the plunge pool, which was nice on the days when the beach was very windy.

CanadaPoopy smell in the room on the first day. Breakfast was average; typical continental buffet, eggs were extra, and ridiculously expensive (7 euros for two eggs). Fortunately, they gave me gluten free bread, otherwise there was very little, other than fruit, that I could eat from the buffet.
Beautiful beach, though a bit of a walk from our room. Very nice pool, which was shared by only three rooms. Comfortable beds. Nice patio overlooking our pool.

MaltaThey say breakfast is included in the Price. This is a complete Joke. When you say breakfast, you have to mean breakfast. The few items you get are tea cereal, coffee, one cake, some crosounts and another pastry, orange jiuce and water, some fruit, bread and a toaster. NO CHEESE, NO HAM, AS SOON AS YOU ENTER THEY GIVE YOU A MENU WITH PRICES, FOR ANYHING THAT YOU WANT, YOU HAVE TO PAY 7 EUROS FOR AN EGG, OMLETTE, HAM CHEESE ETC. We ended up paying an extra 50 euros a day to have a decent breakfast.
The enviroment of the Hotel is nice. It has aged a bit, but on the whole it was good. No bar on site, just a little shop to but a few essentias.
