Tropical paradise. The resort is accessible only by boat and up against a national park with lots of lemurs. We were there for five days, four nights in a beachfront bungalow with private facilities. Sun lounges under coconut palms. Local seafood at the restaurant. Hardly any other guests. Affordable for budget travelers.

The shower pressure is not very strong. Breakfast is on demand without a menu and some items are charged extra - in contrast to info on booking.com. The dogs can be a bit loud at times.

Food is great, particularly the Zebu filet with pepper sauce and the Bruschetta were fantastic. The owners are very kind and helpful with any requests you might have. The ocean is right in front of your bungalow - beautiful to wake up and fall asleep to. It's as the name 'coin sauvage' suggests, a rather wild, simple accommodation. If you're into that, it's perfect for detaching from everything for a bit.

We unfortunately got very sick we are not sure what the cause was, but we were very well taken care of. Would have liked hot water in the showers but this style of living is suited for simple, nature lovers.

Theresa, Giuseppe and the welcoming staff really made this experience. The most warm and welcoming people. We didn't speak French or Italian but a lovely young man, Freddo, helped us in English - he really went above and beyond, gentle and kind. This place is perfect if you are looking for a simple but right in the nature kind of trip. Food was great. Rustic family vibe. Will be back to see the lovely hosts again.

Right from check in to check out this place felt the most amazing place in the whole of Madagascar! Teresa the host is such a wonderful gem of a person! She is so warm and welcoming! Absolutely loved every moment I spent in Coin Sauvage! You need to contact them in advance for your arrival time as they get you on their boat from Ambatozavavy village!

Teresa and her husband are the most incredible hosts, very friendly and deeply care about their guests. The location is beautiful and quiet, the food is amazing and the boat ride to the resort is such a nice addition :) I moved around Nosy Be a lot to explore the island during my trip and out of the 4 accommodations I stayed in over my week on Nosy Be, Coin Savage was by far my favourite. Would highly highly recommend!

Beware of the stones in the sea! My girlfriend hit her toe really hard and severely bruised it. Also it can get really hot inside the huts. A ventilator would have helped a great deal.

Amazing location. You get picked up by a boat from the nearby fishing village and brought to a remote beach. Can jump into the sea right from your doorstep. Food was great with friendly staff. The manager was really nice and helpful - for a fee he brought us to the harbour where he helped us buy a simcard and go to the pharmacy.

Coin Sauvage is a beautiful quiet spot right next to the nature reserve. Laurent and Jacques were attentive hosts who organised great food, lovely nature walks and all transfers. Unfortunately, we were only there for two nights so were not able to explore further, but the accommodation and location were wonderful and would definitely recommend.

Beautiful location and wonderful accommodation. Very relaxing few days away from the hustle and bustle of Hell-Ville and resets of Nosy Be. Lemurs in the trees directly behind the bungalows most days, which was very special. Great staff, very friendly and helpful.

If you’re looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy no need to continue your research. La coin sauvage is your next little paradise .. away from the crowd, right on a beautiful sandy beach, next the a protected areas. The accommodation is lovely, the connection with nature is amazing. Excellent food and most of all amazing hospitality. From the moment I step in I felt like coming back to family. The Italian owners are absolutely charming and welcoming. Carlotta is running the place perfectly with a real human touch. I extended my stay since it really feels like a home away from home and I would love to come back one day. Thanks again for everything.

The acomodation was a little more rustic than it looks in the photos. For those familiar with the term Glamping this is about where its at acomodation wise. The beds were not really all that comfy but if its between that and tent you would still pick this every time. Also worth noting if it is torrential rain make sure everything is in from on the porch area else it will get soaked, some of our shoes were wet for days after the first nights rain. The open nature of the huts and the proximity to the crashing waves will mean that even when its not raining there is a certain element of everything being slightly damp anyway. The mosquito nets could do with a few holes being patched up but to be fair considering you are on the edge of the rainforest and a giant centipede got in our bed a few mosquitos are the least of the concerns. You better like nature staying here... but if you do then it really is the place to stay. Food wise was hit and miss, a couple of the meals were outstanding, a couple were very much less so. The shower left a lot to be desired but I guess you got to work with what you've got given the remote location. The two bits that I felt could have been easily improved and would have been a big boost to our stay, first the WiFi... it flat out didnt work. Thankfully Carlotta was kind enough to share a digital hotspot from her phone so i was able to get some internet access at times but still kind of inconvenient when I had a company back home to check in on while on my travels. Secondly, I don't quite know what was up with the morning coffee but please, I'm not picky over my coffee and I'll drink almost anything but that pushed my limits. How come it tasted of seawater was beyond me. A simple fix, next time I come back (and I will as I still highly recomend this place) I will be insisting that I can get some boiled up bottled water to make a brew as that was soul crushing to try and start the day with a salty coffee.

The location was simply amazing, sandwiched between the beach and the lokobe forest you cant get better than this. The staff were very acomodating and helpful, could not fault the staff one bit, Jaques was always on hand to make a cocktail, Carlotta was a pro at organising bits and pieces for us, and Teresa was the matriarch overseeing it all, whilst getting handy in the kitchen from time to time . They were able to meet aditional dietary requirements and I saw them catering to vegan customers that were staying at the same time too so they have a good degree of flexibility in the food they serve. They were able to arrange a boat transfer to get us to them from Nosy Komba which was a great extra service and a reasonable price for this too. The organised night hikes were absolutely next level, the most immersive night walks we did anywhere in Madagascar were the ones from here. You literally couldn't do them the same night walks unless you stay here so those alone are 100% a reason to stay here. The option of snorkeling on the reef at the edge of the bay is well worth doing but be prepared to help paddle the pirogue to get you out there, it's about half a mile out to the edge of the bay but well worth the effort when you jump out and see the reef. In the huts the wildlife is all around you, no really all around you. You are totally at one with nature here. At times there were brown lemur on the roof, madagascan cat eyed snakes in the bathroom, chameleons in the hedge behind the toilet and a giant centipede in the bed... the less said about that last one the better though...

The restaurant and relax area feel a bit like the owners’ living room, and they loudly watch videos there. It felt more like glamping than like a hotel and the beds were not very comfortable. Most services are charged in euros and not cheap based on our experience in other places in Madagascar. They charge money for leaving the property which basically forces you to consume everything from the hotel. Hard to communicate with the staff if you don’t speak French or Italian.

Great location on a secluded beach next to the jungle. At night you can see wild lemurs from up close in the trees near the hut, which was so cool! The food is very good and every day you have multiple choices.

It was pretty expensive for what you actually get when you are there (we paid just under €1,000 for three adults and a child to stay there for three days, eat, drink, have massages, and have taxi transfers to/from the hotel), keeping in mind that it’s a very small beach and limited facilities/activities. For the rooms themselves, they were ok but three days was too long to stay (the beds were uncomfortable, for some reason we didn’t get room service/cleaning, the shared shower facilities were just ok…for €1000, it would be nice to be able to take a proper shower without having to hold up the shower head). While some folks might love the vibe at the hotel, we did feel like we were sitting in the owner’s living room (this was cool for the first day but after three days it was too much). For the food, it was good although fairly repetitive over the three days. For the activities, we were surprised that the hotel was marketed as being able to facilitate a range of activities but there didn’t seem to be anything setting out options with set prices and set itineraries…it required us to negotiate directly with some third party tour companies and in the end we just decided not to bother. Note that at low tide, you will need to walk about 500m out on mudflats to the boat to leave the hotel. Again, this might be great for some folks but we felt that for the money we were paying (and compared to all the other places we stayed in madagascar), we would have expected better quality. Next time we would opt for a bigger place elsewhere on Nosy Be, that would be able to provide a more well-rounded experience for the same pay.

The location for this hotel is excellent, in the middle of the park. Lovely to have so much wildlife right around the park. Very friendly staff.

But then the male co-owner of the establishment started touching my arm or my shoulder for no reason when he was talking to me. And at the end of my stay, i got a big migraine and he came to my bungalow , put his hand on my cheek and tried coming in when i wasn't in a right state of mind because of my migraine and had a difficult time telling him off. I felt unsafe at this establishment and i wanted to share my story so others women don't go through the same thing.

The location is quite remote and you have to access the hotel by boat, however it is easy to arrange transport to and from the hotel.

The location is fantastic, right next to Lokobe nature reserve and there is a great view of the sunrise in the morning. The food is delicious and the menu is varied. The owner and all of the staff are extremely polite and friendly. Unfortunately we were ill and had to cut our stay short, but the owner was very understanding and helpful. We would recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful, rustic stay.
