Reviews of Hotel Nar Gevgelija 4 stars

The staff was ok, our daughter got sick during the night we stayed , and the were helpful , providing extra sheets. Also in the morning the offered to make us coffee even though we arrived an hour after the breakfast was over. It has a big parking lot video monitored which is a plus.

The hotel itself was awful. The first room we received wasn’t cleaned at all, we went inside the bathroom and there was toilet paper in the toilet, as if someone used it before, and never cleaned. We complained about it they changed our room. The furniture was old and broken ( we had a small couch in the room, with a brocken leg-you couldn’t stand on it), brocken curtains (in the morning it was so sunny in the room , it was like being outside, we couldn’t sleep at all). The room smelled like old cigarrettes, , also some problem with the lights in the room.The balcony was really dirty, aleo no chairs on the balcony. In the evening when we went to eat we didn’t receive a meniu (i don’t know why), instead the owner recomended us some food which they could make quickly, but we did not know the cost of it until we received the check. Overall, i’m never coming back here.

Everything was great! Food is perfect. 🙂 Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Nothing i can think at the moment

The location is very convenient, just after the border crossing (when returning from Greece). The staff is very polite and helpful. The parking is well lit. There is a nice playground for the kids.

The AC in the room was too loud and it did not work at all at the lowest setting. The mattresses were too soft for our taste. The hotel as a whole is a bit worn out.

Location is perfect when you are travelling towards/from Athens as it is half the way (to Belgrade). Rooms are spacious, with balcony, beds are comfortable, air condition and Wi-Fi are perfect, generally it is clean expect for the shower curtains. Decent breakfast. All in all, it is a good choice when you need to sleepover and cut your trip to half. Good value for the money.

Two suggestions - Shower curtains need to be replaced, as there is mold on them. Gives the impression of not being maintained although you can see that hotel is regularly cleaned. Also, we were given half of toilet paper roll without additional one...so we had an issue :). We took 2 rooms, it was the same in both rooms.

Room was comfortable and clean, had nice dinner and breakfast. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Although we only stayed one night on our way to Greece, we felt comfortable. The staff is not only professional, but from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, you can feel that everything is come from the their heart, especially the owner Bora. I highly recommend Hotel Nar.

A distance from center

A very comfortable place to stay at with a great host/owner and friendly staff. Food excellent! Great location almost at the border with Greece which is very convenient when continuing the trip onwards to Greece.
