The location is perfect, especially if you want to do day trips. Phillip, the manger/owner/maybe only staff maybe? is helpful with advice.

It’s not clean. They have a shoes off policy which I love, but like you see in the photo of underneath the bed, the floor isn’t regularly cleaned. I was there three nights and I didn’t see any cleaning of my room or the common area. The second major problem is the bathrooms. There are only two, and they are also the toilets. The floors in the bathroom are constantly wet, which is an issue when you want to go to the toilet after you’ve taken your shoes off, and it’s also difficult to find a place to put your clothes while you shower. I feel like this hostel maybe used to be better run, and current management has maybe gotten a bit lazy. It is cheap, but that’s not an excuse for not hiring a cleaner or at least spending an cleaning yourself (it’s only a small place and wouldn’t take that long if you did it daily).

The location is great very close to the bus station and to the center. The beds are comfortable. And the host is very helpful.

The bathrooms could use some cleaning and repairing. The toilet was not flushing properly and was disgusting to use.

Location is convenient for bus station. Most bunks have curtains & lockers. Up two floors of stairs.

Toilets don't flush the brown stuff at all, so they are always full of it. To many restrictive rules. No clothes washing allowed. Can't stay in common area or even use toilet after check-out. Kept promising & delaying the registration cards which are required from hostels/hotels for border crossing and we had to leave without them resulting in border police interrogation. In Macedonia, you are required to get a paper registration card from all legal hostels/hotels stamped by local police. Half the time you will be asked for this card when leaving at the border. Legal registered hostels & hotels tell you this and provide this card.

    Property response:

Those are normal rules in every hostel and hotel. You were there for one night and you got sent the bill that you paid with a stamp from the hostel. The toilets get cleaned every day. If there was a clogging it was only for a short amount of time before it got fixed.

I liked that there was curtains on the bunks and communal seating

Internet mishap, no worker there permanently, the hot water instructions, bathroom cleanliness, mattress scratchyness, lack of control of air conditioning, no numbered lock up top for entry (ridiculous seeming as nobody works at the property).

I’m very sorry to have to write this. It’s clear that this place was once made with love and care, but now it has turned into a garbage dump where it’s unpleasant to stay. But the beds was ok.

We had a private room for two, and it was not cleaned before our arrival only the bedding was changed. It was very hot, almost impossible to sleep, and the air conditioning could not cope possibly old and not functioning properly. The kitchen, bathroom, and showers were very dirty and sticky, walls, shelves, and shower cabins all had accumulated grime, and there was a lot of old trash that should have been thrown away a long time ago. The trash bin was too small for the number of people living there, so garbage was left on the floor. The hostel had an unpleasant smell, and in the bathroom, there was 💩 floating around. Even the owner’s visit did not help. His cleaning seemed very superficial, probably limited to changing the bedding, because we noticed no difference when we returned except for the removed trash, but by evening there was again a pile around the bin. The water heater was not turned on, so either we had to wait half an hour or shower in cold water. As tourists with plans, we could not wait, but this also negatively affected our experience. I never stay here again and will not recommend anyone. Hope you will change, it's a great location, you can have guests for years, if not you lost them all in few years.

The bed was so comfortable... slept like a rock! It is so close to the bus and gas stations.. could sleep later and check out later. The cool host Philip washed my close at a cheap price and provided coffee for free! I need coffee in the mornings! Was a perfect stay for 2 nights and got to see the city about 10-15 minutes walking

I wish there were more private rooms... but it is what it is... the hostel is a small one, so I'm happy with that! I didn't like that the host isn't always there, but he had a cool volunteer

Wow! the Bus Station is just five minutes or some short meters from the bus station. Staying at Valentin 2 was perfect because I didn'T have any worry about getting to the bus station. There is a (I think) 24 hrs gas station very close, with ciggies, drinks sandwiches and snacks. The big grocery store at VERO, is about 7 to 8 minutes stroll. This place is a perfect place with its bare essentials, proximity and price.

I didn't like that a few people have stolen Valentin's cutlery, towels and other little things.. leaving just the bare essentials for the rest of us. Nonetheless, it's a great place to rest up for a few days before moving on.

Location is 3min walk from bus station

POW stays on the toilet every single time because there is not enough pressure. I told the owner that the hose was broken and dripping water out on the first day and after 3 days still broken :/ Not clean. They just make beds and do a mop on the kitchen.

The owner/manager was really helpful and responsive! Also, very close to bus terminal (about 5 mins). Recommended if you’re traveling around Balkans.

The only thing I didn’t like much is the bed — too cramped you can’t even sit upright. The bed cushion or linen also feels old and dirty.

Comfy bedding and pillows, people were quiet at night. 20 min stroll into city centre and right next door to bus terminal so good location. Sleep was really really good here

The bathroom was horrible !! Each toilet stand of urine/ poo. The shower just felt disgusting because of the smell. Dreaded to use the bathrooms when we had to because it was horrid.
