Bed bugs, the room was fully infested with, and when I tried to contact the owner, he ignored my message.

The host was incredibly nice and generous, the place was located perfectly, great facilites, friendly people, good price. And as a bonus, he even has a few bikes that you can use for free to explore the area. If you're ever in the area, this hostel would definitely give you a great experience. ,

Beds and facilities were nice

Amazing host who proactively answered all my questions. Super location in the heart of town but not loud. Nice community kitchen and lounge area for meeting people. Clean beds and bathroom. Great local tips and recommendations.

Didn't have electric outlet right by the bed. Bathrooms got busy (maybe limited WCs based on number of people).

I arrived at 1am and was bit scared as this is my first time in north Macedonia as solo female traveller. The owner picked me me up for the airport and stayed in constant communication which made me feel very comfortable. I felt very safe. The owner is extremely friendly and kind. Very central with excellent location. Highly reckoned it 😊

Everything was very nice. The location is perfect, close to the city center, old town and beach. A supermarket and a bakery are right across the street. They offer laundry for 5 euros. You also get towels included. The staff was very helpful.

Really my only complaint is that there were fleas in my bed the first night; I was absolutely devoured and had to go to a pharmacy for remedies. In fairness, the owner immediately moved me to another bed and aired out the mattress, but at least one other traveler said he also had this problem. On balance, for me, the many positives outweighed this one big negative, but I felt I had to at least mention it.

Thank you to the staff of Sunset Lake Hostel esp Joko (im not sure if the spelling is right). He was very nice and friendly and recommended me places to see while in Ohrid. He also gave me very good espresso coffee and juice when i arrived. My bed was comfortable and the area all around was clean and comfortable. They even have a kitchen if you need to cook food and a nice balcony. The location is perfect!

- no handwash soap - it creates noise when you walk or go up and down the stairs But these are not deal breakers. I loved the hostel and will definitely stay again when i go back!

Best place to stay in Ohrid. Owner was so lovely ❤️ really made my stay incredible. Solo traveller and met a lot of people here

Bedbugs and the hostel didn’t want to take ownership of this problem until I showed them more than 20 bites.

Amazing hostel!!!! Everyone is so friendly and it’s a great place to meet people! I only stayed for two nights but I met people that I will continue traveling with in different countries too! The location is excellent and super close to everything, and the host is very helpful and kind. I wish I could have stayed longer, and I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in Ohrid.

Sometimes the shower is only a small stream of water, and the bunks don’t have privacy curtains, but that’s not a big issue.
